Note: Currently, the information below is based not only on developer statements, but also on leaks and files obtained by data miners and testers, so it is not 100% reliable and may change over time.
Honkai: Star Rail 2.0 release date
HoYoverse has returned to the standard update duration of six weeks, so the next update will be released February 7, 2024. Unless the developers change the schedule again, it will be replaced by version 2.1 around March 20 next year.
Note: Note that the studio decided to skip patches 1.7-1.9 to show the importance of the upcoming patch, which adds a completely new planet to the game.
You can preload the client a few days before its release. The developers will probably carry out technical work, which can last up to five hours. Players are usually given compensation of 300 star jades.
Live broadcast on Honkai: Star Rail 2.0
Developers almost always hold special streams one and a half to two weeks before the next update is released. They are usually organized on Friday-Sunday. A live broadcast of the current patch will be held January 26, 2024 at 14:30 Moscow time. As part of it, 3 will be published promotional code for 300 star jades.
New banners and characters
The company has already officially unveiled three new characters that are likely to be released in patch 2.0, namely Misha, Twilight and Black Swan. Insiders published the characteristics and approximate time of appearance of these heroes in banners.
First phase banners
In the first half of the patch, you can get the following characters during Jumping:
- 5-star – Sparkle (Harmony: Quantum).
- 4-star – Misha (Destruction: Ice).
Twilight is a young girl with a mysterious past that she can easily make up on the fly. She is a skilled actress and, not surprisingly, part of the Masked Klutzes faction. Unpredictable and desperate. Echoing the precepts of the organization, Sparkle is ready to take on any role if the matter is worthy of the only worthwhile goal - “entertainment.”
Misha works at one of the main attractions of Penaconia, the Dreams Hotel. A conscientious employee and a skilled mechanic, Misha dreams of saving money and leaving his job as a doorman to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather to explore the vastness of space.
Twilight's signature weapon will be available in the weapon banner, but its name and characteristics are still unknown.
Second phase banners
In the second half of the patch (starts on February 28), the following characters can be obtained during Jumping:
- 5-star – Black Swan (Nothingness: Windy).
The Black Swan is the mysterious and mesmerizingly graceful guardian of the memory of the “Garden of Memories,” one of whose members we have already met on board the Star Express. This lavender-haired fortune teller is completely devoted to her greatest passion - the study of other people's memories. However, why Black Swan hoards other people's memory fragments remains a real mystery.
The Black Swan signature weapon will be available in the weapon banner, but its stats and passive ability are still unknown.
Changing the map
The developers will finally introduce a new world into the game - Penaconia, also known as the planet of celebrations. In the distant past, it was a huge prison where the KMM sent various criminals, but after a mysterious disaster associated with Stellaron, control over it was taken by the faction of the Family, which reveres Xipe, the eon of Harmony.
At this point in time, Penaconia is an advanced world with incredible technology and an advanced society. Its prototype could be either modern Japan (which is also replete with neon signs and skyscrapers), or modern Australia (formerly a place of exile for criminals, but now an urban state).
Of course, players will find a ton of new locations where they can find dozens of chests, as well as solve puzzles, participate in various activities and look for secrets.
New tasks
Development Missions
The Star Express has received an official invitation from the Family and is now heading towards Penaconia. It is on this planet that the events of the next story chapter will unfold. Most likely, new problems will again be associated with Stellaron.
Companion Missions
Considering the appearance of many new characters in the game, the developers will certainly add additional personal quests for the heroes. However, it is not yet known who exactly will receive them.
