Genshin Impact 4.8 release date
HoYoverse usually releases updates every six weeks, so the next patch should be released soon July 17, 2024. It will be replaced version 5.0 approximately August 28th of this year.

New characters and banners
The miHoYo team has already officially introduced one new character who will appear in the upcoming patch: Emilia. Insiders shared information about her abilities and rerans of other heroes.
First phase banners
Informants suggest that in the first half of the patch in banners The following fighters will be represented:
- 5-star – Emilia (Dendro, spear) and Navia (Geo, two-handed sword).
- 4-star – unknown yet.
Emilia owns his own perfume shop located in Fontaine. The first mention of the girl appeared in the lines of Lyney and Lynette. From them we learned that Emilia produces delicious perfumes, and she has no end to buyers. Even Lyney himself wanted to become her client. Judging by her characteristics, she will play through the Elemental Reaction: Burning reaction and will be able to serve as a sub-DD in the squad.
In "Incarnation of a Deity" you will be able to get Emilia's signature spear called Elegy Lumidus and the two-handed ax Judgment (Navia's signature).
Second phase banners
In the second half of the update (starts on August 7), the following fighters will most likely undergo reruns:
- 5-star – Nilou (Hydro, one-handed sword) and Wriothesley (Cryo, catalyst).
- 4-star – unknown yet.
Information about Wriothesley possible rerun was published back in the last patch, and insiders have been hinting at the appearance of Nilou for several months now. However, there is no exact information, so with a high probability these data may not be confirmed.
As for the weapon banner, you should expect the appearance of the Cashflow Supervision catalyst and the Calamity Queller spear, which are the signature weapons of the above characters.
Mondstadt: Blessing of the Chronicles
Informants suggest that this banner in patch 4.8 may be dedicated to Liyue, so we will see the following characters in it: Shenhe (Cryo, spear), Ganyu (Cryo, Onion), Hu Tao (Pyro, spear), Yelan (Hydro, Onion), Keqing (Electro, one-handed sword), Qiqi (Cryo, one-handed sword).
New locations
According to available information, the developers will continue the tradition of adding temporary locations in the X.8 patches, so you should expect the appearance of a new region in the game, which will be called “Fairytale Forest” from three large areas.
The area itself is connected with the Witches' Sabbath, and you can get there through a magic book. In terms of style, it resembles Fontaine with a touch of fairy tales and magic. In the screenshots above you can see some parts of this region.

Quest of the Archons
Insider TeamMew reported that the developers are preparing to release a story related to the Wanderer. However, it is still unclear what exactly we are talking about. Perhaps his story will be woven into the storyline of the summer event or they will tell about him in one of the chapters of the Interim Thoma.
Legend Quests
Insiders note that the studio intends to release a new personal quest, which will be dedicated to Emilia. There is practically no information about him. It is only clear that it will allow us to get to know this heroine better.
World Quests
A new storyline will be added related to the temporary location Fairytale Forest. In addition, on its territory you can find many other side quests.
New skins
Insiders report that Nilou and Kirara are likely to get new looks. Their names were even found in the files: Fairy and Achievement: Roaming, as reported by dimbreath.
The same informant leaked preliminary models of new outfits without textures. Apparently, Kirara's skin will be made in the Fontaine style. It is noted that it can be obtained completely free of charge for one of the events of patch 4.8, but the appearance of Nilou will be sold for premium currency.
