In Atomic Heart, the elevator is a kind of loading zone, like in the first Mass Effect, so it often has various bugs, especially if you use the Dev Build. In this guide, we will tell you what to do if your character is stuck in an elevator or it does not move or open.

The elevator does not move and does not open in Atomic Heart: what to do

Most often, these errors occur in the tasks “How restless is that brow that is crowned with a crown”, “Mustachioed Karl stole coral from Clara!” and "A bug in the system" when a character enters a wood-lined elevator located at the VDNKh exhibition. If the bug occurred elsewhere, then the method described below can still help you.

Note: This method only helps in the pre-release version, which has a developer console. On the license, these bugs have already been fixed with the latest patches (we advise you to update the game). Sometimes a character can get stuck in an elevator, but this is quickly fixed by reloading or selecting an earlier save.

How to get out of the elevator

So, if you have been sitting in the elevator for several minutes and the doors do not open, then you have an error. Open the Debug Menu by pressing the "Backspace" key (arrow pointing to the left). Then go to the "Quests" section and click on the "Complete Quests" button to complete the current task. Next, immediately select the desired mission under the name "Bug in the system" using the "Get Quest" function.

However, you will still remain locked in the elevator. To get out of it, open the console again, go to the main settings and activate the invulnerability mode (God Mode). Next, teleport to zero coordinates by clicking on the "Teleport To" button and not specifying the coordinates. You will be in the air.

Now aim at the marker in front, open the console and teleport to the coordinates shown in the screenshot below. After teleporting, run to the building indicated by the pointer, stand close to the door and click on the debug menu "Teleport Forward" to get inside. Head into the room on the left and approach the radio for a phrase trigger.

A cutscene should start in this building, but it won't start due to a bug, so go outside by again using the "Teleport Forward" command near the glass door. Then complete the current quest and start the mission "Show must go on".

You will need to find the place where Petrov is hiding. Ignore the markers that appear, as they are erroneous. You will need to get to the arena, located far to the east (see the map below). If you don't want to use the console anymore, you can just get to this location on foot or by car.

Otherwise, use the teleport again. To do this, first rise into the air using the "Teleport Upwards" button, and then start flying forward by clicking on the "Teleport Forward" inscription. When you find yourself near the round platform, you can go down.

As soon as you pass through the archway, a cut-scene will start, in which the MA-9 "Belyash" boss will attack you. True, he will not display a health bar. Deal with the enemy, and then you can continue to complete tasks as usual without the developer console.

If you have similar errors in other missions, then just use the Debug Menu, moving on to the next missions and moving to the desired locations using the teleporter.
