In Sons of the Forest, the door is an important part of any home, because with it you can easily get into your home and at the same time prevent strangers from entering it by locking it. But at first it is not entirely clear how to create a door and lock it. In this guide, we will tell you in detail how to do it.
How to make a door in Sons of the Forest
First of all, cut down a few trees and prepare exactly 7 logs. Then start stacking them on top of each other where you want to create the door. You should end up with the design shown in the first screenshot below. Now take any ax in your hands, go to the installed logs and raise the camera up so that the red dotted lines appear.
Aim the ax at the 6th log (counting from bottom to top) and press the cut button to make a hole in its center. Do the same with all the lower logs, thus creating a passage.
Next, take a regular log and go to the created hole - you should see white dotted lines in the form of an arrow pointing up. Click on the mouse to split the building material in two and insert the halves into the passage. Take the next log and do the same with it. As a result, you will install the door.
A flat surface should be visible from the inside of the dwelling, and a rounded one from the outside. Thus, to select the side you need, you just need to stand facing the outside of the door.
How to put a lock on the door in Sons of the Forest
By installing a door, you will not protect yourself from the natives, because they will be able to freely pass through it, just like you. To close the door, you will need to install a lock on it. To do this, pick up any stick and go to the flat side of the structure - you should see a horizontal dotted arrow.
Click on the mouse to install the latch on the door. To close it, simply hold down the Y (E) key. However, we will immediately warn you that the door is not 100% protection against cannibals, that is, they may well break it down and get inside. For this reason, don't forget to build a fence around your house as well.
