In Genshin Impact Mysterious Cores are special items that are hidden in certain treasure chests in Fontaine's territory. They are needed to open the secret quest "Still impossible to resist", which continues the story of Henry. In this guide, we will tell you how to find all the mysterious cores and solve the puzzles associated with them.
Where to find Mystery Cores in Genshin Impact
You can find these items randomly during normal exploration of the Hydro region, but you will first learn about them during the mission "Amazing fragrance". Henry will ask you to find 7 mysterious cores, but he won't tell you where they are hidden. These parts are in certain chests, the approximate location of which is shown on the maps below.
Before you can open them, you will have to solve a small puzzle with pneuma and ousii blocks, and then deal with a group of opponents. Three chests are on land, and the remaining 4 are underwater. Next, we will tell you in detail how to open them.
First Mysterious Core
- Location: Bello area
Head south from the West Face of Mon Atoneka and climb a small hill near the coast. Here you will find a hovering mechanism, to the left of which is an energy block (purple sphere).
Pick up this ball, take the archer, and then hit the bottom of the device with an aimed shot, as shown in the screenshot below. As a result, a group of meks will appear, which you will need to destroy.
Pneumonia will be in disharmony, so you will need to balance it. To do this, pick up the pneuma power unit (light sphere) and shoot again at the bottom of the mechanism. Deal with the mobs that appear.
Now grab the Ushii power pack again and shoot at the bottom area of the device. It will be destroyed, and a precious chest will appear nearby, in which you will find the first Mysterious Core.
The second Mysterious Core
- Location: Elinas (Beryl district)
Head to the eastern part of Elinas and get to the coast. Not far from the anchorage you will find a new device. Pick up the Ushii power unit located nearby and shoot the mechanism.
Then deal with the uninvited guests, pick up the pneuma power unit and shoot the device again. After dealing with two more meks, take the energy of the ushii and shoot the mechanism a third time. Take the necessary part from the chest that has arisen.
Third Mysterious Core
- Location: Elinas (Beryl district)
Head to the southeastern part of Elinas and reach the rocky coast. Near the waterfall you will find the necessary mechanism. Pick up the Ushii power unit located nearby and shoot the mechanism.
Then deal with the uninvited guests, pick up the pneuma power unit and shoot the device again. After dealing with two more meks, take the energy of the ushii and shoot the mechanism a third time. Take the necessary part from the chest that has arisen.
Fourth Mysterious Core
- Location: Salos sea plateau
Travel to the south of the indicated area and dive into the water. At the bottom you will find another mechanism. Attack the LMB of an armored crab floating nearby to take away its ability (heavy Noelle: Protector). Then hold the "E" key, aim at the boulder with blue cracks and hit it. You will split it by finding an ousii power block under it - pick up the sphere and hit the device.
Deal with the three mechs that appear. The armored crab skill works well against them. Further, nearby at the bottom there will be a bullet, which will begin to fire projectiles at you. Hold the "E" key, and then release a shockwave as soon as an enemy projectile flies at you. As a result, you will beat it back and destroy the enemy. In its place, a pneuma power unit will appear - take it and hit the mechanism. At the end, open the chest.
Fifth Mysterious Core
- Location: Salos sea plateau
Swim to the center of the specified area, and you will find another mechanism here. Then interact with the echolusk on the right side to see the location of the mysterious thing hidden at the bottom under the device.
Press "dig" and you will find a pneuma power unit. Take it and hit it on the piece of iron. Then deal with a group of meks and reactivate the echolusk. Immediately swim to the far point near the cobblestones and dig out the power unit there.
Hit the mechanism with an ousia to destroy it and get a precious chest containing the part you need.
Sixth Mysterious Core
- Location: Salos sea plateau
From the previous area, swim north and look for a mechanism near the teleportation point. Pick up the Ushii Power Cell floating above the giant plant cup and slam it into the summoning device.
Having dealt with the opponents, pick up the pneuma power unit from the same bowl and hit the mechanism again. Deal with the second group of meks, and then pick up the ousia from the plant. By attacking the piece of iron a third time, you will destroy it and be able to open a precious chest.
Seventh Mysterious Core
- Location: Talat underwater valley
Swim to the southern part of the indicated area and look for the last mechanism near the teleporter. LMB the rogue to take away its ability, and then cut the seaweed by aiming the E-neck at the three green orbs. You need to choose such an angle to hit all three points at once (see screenshot below).
Thus, you will reach the USI power unit - hit it on the device. Next, deal with a group of opponents. Now look down, and you will find pneuma energy at the bottom, stuck in the next algae. Release the blade so that it hits two spheres at the same time.
Then pick up the power unit and hit the device, thereby destroying it and unlocking the chest - take the last Mysterious Core. Right after that, Paimon will inform you that you need to talk to Henry. Plus, the world quest "Still Impossible" will appear in your journal.
