Cipher Letter in Genshin Impact: how to find and decrypt

In Genshin Impact Cipher Letter are special drawings in which various messages are encrypted. To decrypt them you need to use a terminal and a video finder. By finding and scanning all the images, you can unlock the secret achievement “The Calendar of the Future Is Longer Than the Diary of the Past.” In this guide we will tell you how to do this.

Where to find all Cipher Letter in Genshin Impact

In the northern part of Fontaine, at this point in time, exactly six drawings with secret messages can be found. The map below shows their approximate locations. Next, we will show you exactly where you can find ciphergrams and what you need to do to decrypt them.

Ciphergram 1 (VI)

• Location: Liffey District (south)

Move to the southern Hydro Archon statue in the indicated area, then turn around and go down the stairs to the level below and take a sharp left. Then interact with the terminal to go to the camera.

Point the camera at the red light a little higher to change the angle, and then look at the gear pattern and wait a couple of seconds until it is deciphered. As a result, you will receive ciphergram VI.

Cipher code 2 (V)

• Location: Institute of Kinetic Energy (southwest)

Travel to the teleporter north of Experimental field generator, and then start running along the road to the west towards the ruins ahead. Climb to the top of the dilapidated building to pick up the pneuma block (purple sphere).

Go down one level and hit the energy accumulator to charge it (you can skip the moment of collecting pneuma if you have a character with the appropriate energy on your team). Return to the top where you previously picked up the power unit and deal with the group of meks. Now interact with the terminal and point the camera at the drawing to decipher the next letter.

Cipher code 3 (II)

• Location: Institute of Kinetic Energy (south)

Teleport again to the travel point near the boss, and then jump off the edge of the cliff to the north and fly to the bottom floor of the ruins. Before this, pick up the pneuma power unit (purple sphere) on the wall. Go down the stairs, turn left and hit the Ushii energy storage device.

Now interact with the terminal nearby and point the camera at the gear drawing on the wall to decipher the message.

Cipher code 4 (III)

• Location: Institute of Kinetic Energy (south)

Move towards the arena with the Experimental Field Generator and climb onto the upper platform of the southern part of the coliseum. Run forward to the very end and interact with the terminal. Then immediately point the lens at the drawing.

Cipher code 5 (I)

• Location: Institute of Kinetic Energy (south)

From the previous letter, head east along the path to the next ruins. Climb the dilapidated building and go inside. The terminal located here can be sealed - to remove the barrier you need to complete the world quest "The Fontaine Research Institute, Stagnating in the Rubble".

Click on the console, and then point the camera at the drawing on the opposite wall. This will decipher the penultimate entry.

Cipher code 6 (IV)

• Location: Institute of Kinetic Energy (north)

Travel to the teleporter in the northern part of the Central Laboratory Ruins, then run to the cliff to the east and jump down towards the ruins. Land near the stairs on the right side and enter the building along them. Run forward to the very end and pick up the pneuma power unit (purple ball) in the room.

Go back to the entrance and hit the Ushii energy storage device to charge it. Then activate the terminal to open the grate. Pick up the drive and place it next to the console you just pressed.

Go again to the room where you previously took the pneuma and click on the terminal there. Point the camera at the blue drive to collect its energy, and then look at the red battery and press the “Enter” key to charge it.

Pick up the portable drive you just charged and place it next to the non-working terminal in the room with the pneumatic. Then open the grate, behind which you will find a precious chest and another console - interact with it, point the lens at the red light to change the angle and look at the picture.
