Exploring the various ruins on the grounds of Fontaine in Genshin Impact, you can find chests that can only be accessed by completing several puzzles. In this guide, we'll show you how to solve the water level crystal puzzle near the New Institute to get various valuable resources.
How to open the precious chest near the New Research Institute
To find the chest, head south from the teleporter located in the New Institute building. In the ruins at the base of the mountain on the river bank you will see a locked chest and a puzzle with water level crystals and switches.
First, pick up the 3 Hydrogranums floating among the ruins above the puzzle. They will attach themselves to you as you walk through them.
When a water ring forms around you from the 3 collected spheres, go down to the chest and place the hydro core in a special stand.
After installing the water field, alternately activate two switches with a normal attack: one next to the chest, and the other opposite it. The one that is installed on the edge of the platform does not need to be touched.
After this, the crystals will begin to move and activate one after another. When this happens, you will gain access to a nearby precious chest, in which you will find 10 Primogems, 3 hydro seal, character enhancement materials, weapons and artifacts.
