In Assassin's Creed Mirage Lost books are special items that, when collected, allow you to obtain additional skill points and a Monstrous Talisman, as well as unlock the “Sage” achievement. In this guide, we will tell you exactly where you can find all the books and what you need to do with them.
Where to find all the lost books in Assassin's Creed Mirage
In total, 7 lost books can be found on the territory of Baghdad and its environs, and one of them can be obtained only towards the end of the main plot, and the other is not marked on the map in any way and is not taken into account in the case “The Lost Books of al-Jahiz”. For this reason, if your meter is stuck at 6/6, then you must have missed Kitab Al Azif.
The map above shows the approximate location of all books. Next, we will tell you in detail how to get to them.
Lost Book 1: At-Tabari "Tafsir at-Tabari"
- Region: Harbia
Head to the Nestorian Monastery, located in the northern part of the indicated area. In the western part of the religious complex, look for a secret entrance leading to the basement of the building (see screenshots below).
Having gone down and finding yourself in a spacious room with a locked door, go to the far left corner and move the shelf, pulling it towards you.
Walk a little back, and at the turn turn left into a small nook, and then turn right and pull the second shelf towards you.
Walk back a little again and turn left again, where you will find a third shelf - you also need to pull it back.
Now run to the locked door and to the left of it you will find a hole that you can squeeze through. This will take you to the right room. Walk forward, turn left, go through the passage with curtains, and you will find a lost book on a pedestal.
The Lost Book 2: Kalila va Dimna
- Region: Harbia
It is located inside a closed house located in the southwestern part of the specified area, not far from the Great Mosque. To enter inside, you need to use the open window located on the south side of the building (see screenshots below).
Once on the second floor, go down, take the throwing knives and aim through the bars at the red jug standing on the boxes. This will cause it to explode, causing the door below to open.
Exit the building and go through the opened passage. Inside on the bookshelf you will find a new book that will give you an additional skill point.
Lost Book 3: Suleiman at-Tajir "Records of China and India"
- Region: Baghdad area
Head to the Secondary Market located in Neighborhood: South. Then you will need to make your way to the guard outpost and climb the wooden ladder to the second floor. The book lies on the table near the window.
The Lost Book 4: Al-Khwarizmi "Al-Jabr"
- Region: Abbasiya
It can be found in a building located east of the Observatory in the Yasiriya area. Go to the front door on the south side of the house and simply break it down with melee attacks.
Once inside, pull the bookshelf towards you and then push it aside to reveal a passage to the stairs. Go up to the second floor and find the book on the table.
Lost Book 5: Banu Musa "The Book of Mechanics"
- Region: Karkh
Can be found in a building located west of the Port Camp. Approach the house from the east side, climb to the second floor to the window with bars. Through the hole, throw a dagger at the shutters on the opposite side to open another window.
Now climb into the house through the opened window and find the book on the table.
Lost Book 6: Al-Sikkit "Divan Abu Nuas"
- Region: Round City
Note: You can get it only after completing the story mission “Snake’s Nest”, which is given towards the end of the game. The fact is that the passage you need will open only after the end of the main story.
It can be found in the center of the Round City, inside the Palace with a green dome. To get to the palace complex, you can jump from the roof of the Harem, located in the south.
Then run to the southeastern wall of the palace and find a balcony with an open passage. Climb onto it and go inside.
Next, run right to a small bookshelf near the wall, on which the book you need lies.
The Lost Book 7: Kitab Al-Azif
- Region: Baghdad area
We are talking about a secret book that will not be marked on the map and is not even taken into account when exploring the area, but without it it will not be possible to complete the task. So, head to the ruins located in the swampy area in the southeastern part of the world.
Climb the wooden ladder onto the turret and take the jug with the wick, then throw it into the hole littered with stones to clear the passage. Go down and take the Book of the Dead from the pit.
How to use lost books
Having found all the books, you will need to go to the House of Wisdom, located in Abbasiya. Enter through the alley door shown in the pictures below, then look for Al-Jahiz inside and chat with him.
Give him all the books to unlock the “Sage” achievement. You will also receive a Monstrous Talisman from him (a gift for finding the book Kitab Al-Azif"). Plus, for each book you will receive Knowledge tokens, which can be spent on buying maps from cartographers or purchasing the services of artists to distract the guards.
