In Marvel's Spider-Man 2 EMF Experiment are secondary activities in which Peter Parker assists the Emily-May Foundation with various scientific tasks. You have to solve various riddles and fight opponents. After completing all these tasks, you will unlock the “Foundation Assistant” achievement and receive a new suit.
Where to find all the EMF Experiment in Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Access to these side missions will not open immediately - first of all, you will need to complete the 7th main task called “Healing the World”. After this, the corresponding tasks will appear in the open world.
Their location will not be shown on the map - FEM experiment icons will appear only if you approach them. In the picture above we showed the location of all 9 such quests. Please note that the last mission in this chain can only be completed after the main storyline of the game has been completely completed.
By completing these activities, you will receive 700 experience points, 140 common and 3 rare parts. The latter are necessary to purchase and improve Spider-Man costumes. Next, we will describe in detail how to start and complete each FEM experiment.
Central Park: Energy
- Area: Harlem
Head to the southwestern border of the indicated area and climb onto the roof of a building located near Central Park. There, the hologram you need will hang above the table - interact with it.
You shouldn't have any problems completing this experiment, as you'll just need to get on the e-bike and then start riding through certain markers.
When you're halfway through the route, the battery on the bike will start to overheat, so you'll have to cover the remaining distance as quickly as possible. However, you will be able to do this even if you accidentally take a wrong turn, since you will have plenty of time.
Central Park: Drone Bees
- Neighborhood: Upper East Side
Head to the southeastern part of the indicated area and climb the building again, located near Central Park. Find the hologram there and interact with it.
Where to find all the targets
Taking control of a drone bee, you will need to shoot down purple targets located in the park. In total you need to knock out 12 targets. Fortunately, there are many more of them flying in this location, and they are all marked on the mini-map with red markers, so completing this task is quite simple.
Where to find bee holograms
In the second part of the experiment, you will need to fly through orange holograms with a bee icon. In total, you need to find 7 such objects. This must be done quickly, otherwise the drone's battery will run out. They are scattered in a small area and usually hang over the bushes, so there should be no problems finding them, but just in case, we have shown the location of all 7 pieces in the screenshots below.
Japantown: Botany
- Area: Chinatown
Move to the northwestern part of the indicated area and find the desired hologram on the roof of the building. Here you have to grow completely new types of plants, collecting unique samples and setting up an irrigation system.
Where to find samples
Use the area scan to see vines leading to three plants you need to collect. They grow on different sides of the house. The pictures below show their exact locations.
How to Solve an Equation Puzzle
Return to the experiment table and click on it. Next, you will need to place the parts of the equation correctly to get a plant with the parameters you need. The image below shows the correct option.
Now all that remains is to organize watering of the new plant. Get to the reservoir and pull the tap. You will then need to fix any water leaks in the pipe by patching the holes with webbing - just go along the pipe and seal all the holes. In some places you need to move tables and break boxes to get to the leaks.
Portside: Botany
- Area: Hell's Kitchen
Access to this task will only open after completing the previous mission. Go to the northwest corner of the indicated area, climb onto the roof of the house with plants and interact with the next experimental table.
How to solve the atom puzzle
Interact with the puddle located to the left of the table. Next, a mini-game will begin in which you need to destroy 8 damaged atoms (red) without touching the normal ones (green).
Note that the destruction of red atoms leads to the destruction of all particles with which it comes into contact. If you eliminate a yellow atom, only the red ones will explode, and nothing will happen to the green ones. Given this information, get rid of all the red particles. The picture below shows several examples of how to safely destroy red atoms.
Solving a riddle with an equation
Then move to the pier and sit on the pillar near the water. Wait until a set of buttons (L1+R1) appears on the screen, click on them and pull the fish out of the water. If you catch the wrong one, then try looking in another place, moving to a pole a little ahead.
Go back to the table and start solving another equation puzzle in which you need to correctly place the elements of the chain. The image below shows the correct option. This will be the end of the mission.
Two Bridges: botany
- Area: Financial District
Access to this experiment will only open after completing the previous task. Head to the eastern part of the indicated area and climb onto the roof of the building, where you need to click on the table.
Where to find the plant
Go to the greenhouse that the marker points to. The plant won't be here because someone stole it. You can track down criminals using a trail of pollen (yellow fog). Having reached the right place, you will find a group of bandits who will need to be dealt with.
Having dealt with your opponents, pick up the flask and take it to the experimental table to begin solving the next puzzle.
How to solve an equation puzzle
You will again need to correctly arrange the elements of the chain in order to get a plant with the necessary characteristics. Note that while solving the riddle, bandits will attack you, so be prepared for a battle. The picture below shows the correct option.
Apiary in Queens: drone bees
- District: Little Odessa
Move to the southeast corner of the indicated area after completing the mission "Central Park: Bee Drones", climb onto the building and interact with the next table. You will again need to conduct an experiment with robot bees.
How to destroy all targets
As in the previous mission of this type, you will first need to blow up 20 purple targets that will be marked on your mini-map. However, this time they will be hiding from you under the boxes, so you will have to wait until they run out of their hiding places.
How to drive away a bird
Then you have to get the bird into the cage by switching to the sonic cannon (triangle) and shooting the bird. Next, start flying after her, sometimes continuing to shoot from the gun. When she flies into a small building, knock down the board to close the door.
Brooklyn Heights: Energy
- Neighborhood: Central Brooklyn
Head to the northwestern part of the indicated area and climb onto the roof of the building located near the bridge. There, interact with the next table.
How to place wind turbines
First, you will need to climb to a certain height, which is indicated by the green zone on the indicator on the left side of the screen. To do this, use your web wings and start flying through the green circles.
Having reached the green zone, you should see an inscription on the screen about the possibility of placing a windmill - immediately click on the square to deploy the device in the air. Do this 5 times.
Then you will see that claw drones have attacked the windmills - deal with them, and then return one of the devices to its original place. This will be the end of the mission.
Prospect Park: Drone Bees
- Neighborhood: Central Brooklyn
Before you can take on this mission, you will first need to complete Queens Apiary: Drone Bees. Then go to the center of the indicated area and interact with the hologram on the roof of the building.
How to destroy targets and fly through holograms
As in previous similar tasks, first of all you will need to knock out 10 purple targets, which will be marked with red pointers on the map. Then fly through 5 holograms with bees - they will all be located next to each other, so you can easily find them.
Where to find a drone
After flying through the third hologram, you will lose contact with the drone, as it will be stolen. Fly to the marker. Peter will note that the bee was taken to some garage. To find the one you need, you need to climb onto one of the antennas. Just climb up the building located to the west (shown in the picture below).
Once on the antenna, click on triangle to restore communication with the drone. Taking control of the robot again, fly up to the glass containers with bees, and then break them using the sonic cannon. The bandits will run out of the garage, and you can deal with them. After this the quest will end.
Emily-May Foundation
- Area: Astoria
To open access to this experiment, you need to complete all previous missions and completely complete the main story campaign of the game. Then head to the southeastern part of the said area, where Peter Parker's house is located. Enter the garage and interact with the plant lying on the table in the box.
Then click on the experiment table to solve the final equation puzzle. You need, as usual, to correctly arrange the elements of the chain in order to get a plant with the required characteristics. The correct solution is shown in the picture below.
Watch a short scene, after which you will receive the "Foundation Assistant" trophy and a new costume. This will bring the FEM Experiments quest chain to an end.
