In Genshin Impact Ancient ruins are one of the varieties puzzles in Chenyu Valley, to solve which it is necessary to restore the ruins using the power of the Adepts. By solving all these riddles, you will not only receive a lot of chests, but also unlock the secret achievement “Good as New”.
Note that in the game reference book these puzzles are called differently: “Thousands of years of history are watching us!”. In this guide, we'll tell you where you can find them and exactly what you need to do to resolve them.
Solving ancient ruins puzzles in Chenyu Valley
Although the description of the achievement talks about six ancient ruins, in reality you will need to solve seven similar riddles. They are scattered throughout the tea valley, and on the map below you can see their approximate location.
We advise you to take on their solution after completing the quest chain "Chenyu’s Blessings of Sunken Jade", so that you have access to most locations in the region. Next we will look at all the riddles in detail.
First ancient ruins
Teleport to the waypoint in the south of Mingyuan Mountain, and then take a few more steps in the southern direction and you will find ruins below that you have to restore.
Go down into the hole in the floor and take a piece of the column using the power of the Adepts (key "T"). Then place it on the right highlighted square platform shown in the image below.
Climb the northern hill, deal with a couple of hilichurls, and take the dilapidated stone arch. You will need to place it on the square area to the left of the pillar you placed earlier.
As a result, a water pearl will appear - activate it to turn into a carp and fly to the jade vent. Continue east, moving from one sphere to another in the shape of a fish. Then fly inside the opening of the huge stone structure and take the rich chest.
Second ancient ruins
Travel to the southern teleporter on Lingmeng Mountain, and then glide down in a northern direction, and you will soon see another ruin ahead with simulacra and a locked rich chest.
Take the simulacrum standing near the entrance to the ruins and place it on the front stone bench located on the right side, as shown in the pictures below.
Take the dilapidated arch next to the entrance and place it on the square platform to the right of the bench, with it rotated so that it connects to the column on the other side, as demonstrated in the screenshots below.
If you did everything correctly, the red Hurdle from the rich chest will fall and you will be able to take its contents.
Third ancient ruins
Teleport to the Chizhang Wall and then head east to the ruins with a locked precious chest.
Take out the group of hilichurls guarding the sacred simulacrum, and then take the statue, climb up the ruins and place it on the middle square area, as shown in the pictures below.
Now take the piece of wall on the right side of the simulacrum and place it to the left of the statue (the higher side should be leaning against the column).
Turn around, pick up the second piece of wall behind the tree and place it to the right of the simulacrum (the higher side should lean against the column).
After this, a Thunderhelm Lawachurl and several hilichurls will appear. It is not necessary to deal with all the enemies, since after about a minute a water pearl will appear next to the chest - pull yourself towards it to instantly destroy all remaining enemies and unlock the chest.
Fourth Ancient Ruins
They are located in the southwestern part of the Chizhang Wall and are associated with the production of the fragrant Chizhang tree. This puzzle is discussed in detail by us in other management, so we won’t repeat it here.
Fifth Ancient Ruins
They can be found in the southeastern part of the Chizhang Wall and are also associated with the extraction of the fragrant tree - this time Huangtsun. We looked at this mystery in detail in another guide.
Sixth Ancient Ruins
Travel to the teleporter west of Qiaoying Village, then head northwest until you reach an ancient ruin that needs restoration.
First, take the sacred simulacrum with the power of the Adepts, and then place it on the left green area. Now take the second statue lying near the stairs and place it on the right green platform.
Next, pick up the dilapidated column to the left of the stairs and place it on the upper left platform. At the end, take the broken arch and place it on the upper right platform. If you can’t place it level, just move closer to the site.
Once you're done restoring the ruins, you'll be attacked by a group of hilichurls. In the end you have to fight lavachurl with thunder helmet. Use Cryo, Pyro or Hydro damage dealers against him to quickly destroy his Noelle: Protector. Once you defeat the enemies, a luxurious chest will appear on the pedestal.
Seventh Ancient Ruins
Travel to the teleporter in Yaode Valley, and then go up to the eastern plateau using the water pearl. Continue running east, up the slope, until you reach the ruins shown in the pictures below.
Deal with a group of treasure thieves to keep them out of your way. Then pick up the sacred simulacrum next to the fire and place it on the square platform near the tree and table. A regular chest will appear.
Now take a piece of the wall near the eastern corner of the ruins and place it directly on the platform located nearby.
Head to the western corner and place the pillar on the first square platform. Turn the camera to the right and you will see a second piece of wall that needs to be placed next to the previously installed pillar (the taller side should be leaning against the pillar).
If you did everything correctly, a rich chest will appear. If you follow our guide, you should now have the achievement unlocked "Good as New", for which they give 5 primogems.
