While exploring the Chenyu Valley in Genshin Impact you could accidentally stumble upon a strange merchant in trouble, and also meet two menacing-looking men who do not allow you to enter the cave. Where to find the strange merchant and dungeon

You can first meet a strange merchant on the road going west from the village of Qiaoying. Save the man from the hilichurls attacking him. He will give you 20 thousand mora as a reward and run away in an unknown direction.

The dungeon is located in the north of the Chenyu Valley. In the image below you can see where the guarded entrance there is. You don't have to talk to the thugs standing there, but you can learn a little more about the purpose of the cave from them if you want.

How to collect all the treasures inside

When you find yourself in the den of criminals, you will need to fight two waves of enemies. These will be ordinary treasure thieves, so you won't need to assemble a special squad to fight them.

At the end of the battle, a precious chest will appear in the cave. You can also collect two ordinary caskets: one at the right wall, the other in the cage ahead. Very close to the last one you will see a locked man. This will be the strange merchant you already know. Talk to him to get him free and run away. Don't forget to pick up spiritual carp, hidden in this dungeon.

Then go to the second exit from the cave. There you will stumble upon already familiar guards. They will get angry and attack you. After defeat they will run away. As a result, both passages to the dungeon will be open.

At the moment, there are no additional rewards for rescuing the strange merchant, but it is possible that his Breaking Free will be part of a larger quest in the future. If such a mission appears, we will definitely add information about it to the guide.
