In Shadow of the Erdtree expansion pack For Elden Ring Location maps are special items that make it possible to see the landscape and location of key objects in a particular area of the Realm of Shadows. This way, not only will they make it easier for you to move around the new region, but you'll also be able to get to places where you can find valuable items faster.
In this guide, we will tell you how to find map fragments in the Shadowfell, showing in detail all the routes to them. Still, some of these items are hidden in rather secluded places.
Where to find all map scraps in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
At first glance, it may seem that searching for these items in the game is extremely difficult, given that you will have to do this almost “by touch,” but in reality everything is not so scary. The reason is that they can always be found in front of the Waystone, which is a rather tall monolithic stone with runes inscribed on it.
In addition, these stone sculptures are often placed on or near roads, so if you mainly travel along paths and stone paving stones, sooner or later you will come across a fragment of the map of the corresponding location.
Let us add that as we move deeper into the new area, the fog that completely covers the area on the map will partially dissipate. For this reason, at a certain moment the Guiding Stele icon may appear on it. Having noticed her, immediately head towards her to find the desired item nearby.
Tombstone Plain Map
After entering the Realm of Shadows, get to the place of grace "Tombstone Plain" (Gravesite Plain), around which dozens of graves are located. Then start walking down the hill towards the stone arches ahead. You can also use the hanging tree as a guide.
Once past the left arch, continue towards the road below. Near it you will see a stone stele, next to which lies the piece of the map you need. Thanks to it you will be able to see the surroundings of the Mogilnaya Plain. Just in case, we have posted a screenshot of the unlocked card below.
Shadow Altus Map
To find it, first get to the place of grace "Cross by the Road" (Highroad Cross), located in the northeastern part of the Tombstone Plain, near Ensis Castle. Then continue moving north, and soon you will see an icon for the desired monument on the map. This object will also be located on the road, not far from the enemy camp.
Pick up a piece of the map. Thanks to it you can see the surroundings of Shadow Altus (Scadu Altus). Just in case, we have posted a screenshot of the unlocked card below.

Move to again "Cross by the road", and then start running northeast through the forest. When you reach the road, start heading due east, following the ledge on the left side.
Soon you will see a cliff ahead and ghostly worms peeking out from under the ground. Jump down and then immediately turn left, continuing to run northeast. Next, go into the gorge, the passage into which is partially blocked by a statue of a woman. The pictures below show the exact location.
Run forward through the gorge along the only path, and near the golden tree, turn right and get to the surface. Continue running forward through the gravestone swamps in a northwest direction, avoiding dangerous birds, and entering a half-open cave. Then start gradually walking more west than north.
Finally exit the giant cave to reach a new area. Ahead you will find a place of grace "Halt at ancient ruins." From there, start moving southwest, passing ancient ruins. Be careful, as a giant archer is waiting for you ahead. Continue running further, and after about 2-3 minutes you will reach a stone stele with a piece of the map.
South Coast Map
Get to the place of grace "The lower stream of the Ellak River" (Ellac River Downstream), located in the southeastern part of Tombstone Plain, then run south along the river. Start going down the steep slope and ledges. Having descended, continue moving along the right bank to the southeast.
When you reach the forest edge, start moving along the rock on the right side. Then turn right and go through the large stone arch. Thus, you will find yourself in a new location and find a place of grace "Cote d'Azur". From this point, the icon of the monument you need will appear on the map.
Continue running south, going down the slope with the azure flowers and trying to stay close to the cliff on the left side. Run under the collapsed ruins and head south again. Then start climbing the slope along the path and very soon you will notice a stone stele with a map of the South Coast.
Abyss Map
Get to "Catacomb of Darkness and Light" (Darklight Catacombs), located in the eastern part of Dark Altus. After going down and activating the place of grace, run forward through the tunnel and then turn right. Go down even lower, and then turn left and continue going down the stairs.
After going down the stairs without railings, take the first passage on the right, and then immediately turn left and go down even lower along two wooden stairs. Be sure to take a torch with you as it is very dark here. Once down, turn left and run forward, and then turn right.
Go down even lower using steps and a lift. Once you reach the open area, go down the stairs on the right and continue running down. Enter the dark passage and use two more wooden stairs on the left. Then go into the tunnel on the left and move forward to take the next elevator going down.
Run forward again, descending deeper and deeper. Be careful, as there is a fire turret ahead of you. Go around it, going down the stairs on the left, and run south. Then go down the steps even lower and turn into the passage on the right - use the fourth lift. Next, deal with the local boss - Jori, the Senior Inquisitor.
Activate a place of grace "Abandoned Cemetery" (Forsaken Graveyard), go through the stone arch and run south. Go down the slope and find the second "bonfire" next to a large tree called "Forest Path" (Woodland Trail). Then start walking southeast towards the gorge ahead.
Continue along the path in a southeast direction and you'll soon find a stele ahead next to a dilapidated building - all you have to do is pick up the map of the area.
