In Honkai: Star Rail, Guide Paradox is a Space Station Hertha adventure mission in which you have to find three videotapes, rescue Sheila, and seal her fate by giving Gunn a definite answer. You will also be able to unlock the secret achievement "Is She Walking Alone?". If you're having trouble getting or completing this quest, check out our guide.
Walkthrough of the mission "Guide Paradox"
How to start a task
It is available for approximately 22-23 Mastery. You will most likely need to complete the Mastering mission as well "On a Dry Winter Night". Arlan will contact you at some point. He will ask for help to the elderly researchers who are at the station. Apparently, they liked you more than the security staff.
So, the first thing you will need to do is talk to Esther, who can be found on the right side of the Main Control Zone, on the second level (climb the stairs to get there). She will ask you to find three videotapes.
Where to find lost videos
All of them are marked on the map and located in the Support Zone. Move to the Parts Warehouse anchor and then move forward and interact with the computers to collect all the videotapes. Their location is shown in the screenshots below.
After finding all three videotapes, you will automatically be transported to the medical center. Talk to Joanna and then follow her until you meet Sheila. Then talk to the mysterious girl.
Go to the room from Sheila's memories and find the monitor
After talking with Sheila, go to the Support Zone by moving to the Power Substation anchor. Then turn north and open the door. Get to the quest marker, and then find the monitor on the right side of the room - inspect it.
Note: There will be an enemy in this room, but it is not necessary to fight him.
Now return to the Base area and run to the medical bay. However, halfway through you will be stopped by Joanna, who will say that Gunn will deal with Sheila's illness. You will need to save the girl. Run into the room and talk to the elderly researcher.
Then talk to Sheila and ask her to "pray". You will find out that the girl is an android. Next, you will need to decide the fate of Nova.
Tell Gunn what to do with prototype 157
So, enter into dialogue with Gann again and choose one of the three answers to choose from. We note right away that regardless of your decision, you will still receive the full reward and be able to open the achievement. Below are all the options and their consequences:
- Please tell Sheila the truth. In this case, the android's cognitive module will burn out due to information overload.
- Please correct your perception of Sheila. In this case, the android will be restarted, forcing it to repeat its entire life cycle again.
- Please destroy Sheila. Gunn disposes of the android. However, a prototype 158 will appear in the future.
Next, return to Esther and give her the videotapes. Once the dialogue is complete, the mission will come to an end. As a reward, you will receive 100 exploration experience, 30 star jade, 3 adventure journals, 50 hertariums, and 5,000 credits.
How to unlock the "She Walks Alone" achievement
After completing the task, move to some other location, and then return back to the Main Control Zone and go to Gert's office. On the way there, you will find Sheila. You will see it here, regardless of which option you selected earlier.
As soon as you approach her, a dialogue will start. If Sheila was broken or destroyed before, then Gunn will create a prototype 158. You will also learn that he is trying to return the videotapes. After the conversation ends, you will unlock the achievement "Is she walking alone?".
