    In Genshin Impact "Treacherous Light of the Depths" is a world quest from the Hydro Kingdom, triggered by discovering underground ruins southeast of the Kinetic Energy Institute. The heroes will have to study devices that project light channels and help Sevigne return the punched tapes. In this walkthrough we will describe in detail how to complete the mission and calibrate all optical mechanisms.

    How to start an assignment

    To begin the mission, head to the pond east of the Kinetic Energy Institute. There is a teleport conveniently located on the path in front of it, after moving to it, immediately run to the water and dive.

    At the bottom you will find ruins, between which the xenotemple jellyfish. Get her skill, and then swim to the depression blocked by cobblestones. To destroy an obstacle, fire a jellyfish projectile towards the stone with your E-shank, and then press the skill again to detonate it.

    Move along the opened tunnel down the water (along the way there will be one Hydroculus ), and then run overland into the depths of the dungeon.

    Get to the door and open it using the device on the left. Inside, the Traveler and Paimon are waiting for large ruins with unusual mechanisms, with the exploration of which the task begins.

    Explore the ruins

    First of all, pay attention to where the beam is directed under the ceiling - this will be the starting point. Run to the device on the right side of the dungeon.

    First turn on the device, and then calibration, clicking on the action at the moment when the projection is clearest (you need to stand next to the device at the right angle).

    After successful calibration, the light channel will point in the direction of the next mechanism.

    Explore the rest of the optical mechanisms

    Move to the opposite half of the area and deal with the meks, guarding the second device. Here we have to find the missing part of the design - Experimental Crystal Light Path Component.

    Behind the optical device there is a blocked passage, and to the left of it is a steering-wheel-like unit. Activate it to switch to video surveillance mode indoors.

    The following steps will help you open the grill:

    • Point the camera at the surveillance mechanism on the other side of the room.
    • Next, point the lens at the power supply near the cage with the fairy and click on it so that it turns red.
    • Move the camera to the red block near the grate and transfer energy to it with a similar action to change the color to turquoise and open the passage.

    Go into the ruins and pick up the optical apparatus component, after dealing with the Meka dog.

    Return the part to the device and activate it, and then calibrate again. This time we need focus two images – they can be configured one by one, the order is not important. At the end of the setup, follow the direction of the light channel that appears to the next device.

    The last optical mechanism, like the previous one, requires the installation of the missing component. Activate the CCTV device near the column again to find it.

    Change the viewing angle and determine where the part lies - video surveillance will help you understand that it is located above the place where we are standing.

    Climb the stone ruins and pick up the light channel component, and then return and install it in the device. It remains to calibrate 3 projections, after which the device in the center of the dungeon will become available for interaction.

    Activate the central mechanism

    After completing the setup of all three devices, the last device will direct a beam to the unit in the center of the underground, so follow it. When you get closer, select the action " Launch "

    Defeat the Meks

    The main device will open a passage under the central plot of land - to further advance, destroy the two Meks blocking the path.

    Continue exploring the ruins

    After defeating your opponents, jump into the hole under the main optical apparatus and continue straight ahead.

    In a small space there will be another closed door with an enemy mob standing in front of it. After defeating him, open the passage using the mechanism and go forward.

    Explore the mysterious room

    Go down the stairs to the room with two deactivated mechs and use elemental sense.

    Behind the robots there is a closed door, to the right of which you need to destroy a block of stone. Pick up the found energy block and return to the pair of meks.

    Approach the terminal and place the found block next to it so that it falls within the radius of the energy supply.

    Be careful: activating the terminal will launch meks, which will immediately become hostile.

    Defeat the Meks

    Fight with "Claire" and "Lothar" - prototypes of mechanical dancers. These mini-bosses won't give you much trouble, but beware of the female model's quick electro attacks.

    Talk to the researcher

    After the battle, a stranger will appear, coming out to the noise of the battle. The girl's name is Savigne and after talking with her you will have to help collect punched paper tape, for which she came to the underground laboratory. Since the researcher is now busy repairing the mek, the task of searching is entrusted to unexpected guests.

    Find punched paper tapes

    Explore the room to find punched paper tapes in the following places:

    • On the chest near the portrait of Bossuet in the southern half of the room.
    • On an old cabinet in the northern part of the room.
    • In the previously closed room from which Savinier came out.

    At the end of the search, talk to the researcher. The girl will ask you to deliver the punched tapes to the head of the documentation department, Kisseri, and will also open an underwater route from the room.

    Leave the laboratory

    Dive into the passage that Savigne pointed out and swim straight into the current.

    The stream will lead to an underwater grotto, the exit from which is in the upper half of the area.

    Find Kisseri at the New Fontaine Research Institute

    At the end of the mission, teleport to the New Fontaine Research Institute and find Kisseri in the room, who sits at a table to the right of the entrance, With You with other department heads. After the travelers talk to the scientist and give her the punched tapes, the quest will be completed.
