Somewhat Damaged Cyberpunk 2077 – the thirteenth story mission of the Phantom Liberty expansion, continuing the events after the “Doomsday” fork, in the event when V takes Reed's side and uses an "icebreaker" in an attempt to capture Somi. In this guide, we will analyze the stages of completing the quest, in which the player will have to follow the hidden Jay alone and make another fundamental decision that affects the ending of this story.

Walkthrough of the mission “Somewhat Damaged” in Cyberpunk 2077

    How to start a task

The task is a continuation "Hours of Confusion" and will begin immediately after its completion in the place where you find the abandoned convoy truck carrying Somi.

    Explore the surrounding area

Enter the building through the gap that has formed and go down the right side, following the stairs and pipes. When you reach the lower level, the quest marker will indicate the location of the target nearby - this is the desired convoy van. After searching it, you will find that Jay has slipped away again.

Follow the trail of the Black Barrier

Scan nearby devices, then go searching. Go into the illuminated corridor and jump down into the room with a hatch in the floor.

With a Strength score of 20+, you can also simply press the door in this room and shorten the further path a little.

Or, after opening the grate, dive into the water and swim forward along the tunnel and then to the left - there you can get out along the stairs.

Continue along the only possible path in the corridor, at the end of which you will have to crawl under the pipes and plunge into the water again.

Relying on the quest marker, swim to a spacious room, on the right side of which there will be another staircase for climbing. Here Johnny will be waiting for you and his thoughts on the current situation.

After the conversation, jump into the well and get out of the water along the steps on the left side of the reservoir. Now go deeper into the tunnel, following the direction sign. In the room with the Militech logo, Reed will contact you, then go down into the shaft in the center of the hall and connect to the terminal - it will be right in front of you.

Discuss the news with Johnny and talk with Jay, who suddenly got in touch. The dialogue will not end on the most pleasant note and you will have to look for a way to leave the room. The door directly behind you will do just fine, and although it needs to be opened by force, the required indicator is the same as the basic one.

Continue to follow the trail of the black barrier - it is the red sparkling flashes on electronic devices. In this case, you need to move along the right side of the corridor, then go down the stairs to the platform with the lift. After examining it, use the mechanism to descend to the lower levels of the complex (-01: Forbidden Zone).

While the platform is moving, talk to Johnny and mentally prepare yourself for plunging into the heart of darkness that Jay awakened below.

    restricted area

The landmarks are still the same - overloaded electrical devices flickering with a red glow. Go to the dark corridor on the left side of the hall into which you just descended and follow the trail again.

How to get through the gate

At the end of the corridor you will need to get through the gate, which is now blocked. To do this, you need to use the door closed by boxes on the right side of the tunnel.

Next you will have to squeeze through the hatch and climb up, overcoming another climb. In the corridor following it, jump into the hatch and make your way further, observing visions from Jay's memories.

After the scene with Hansen from the past, go to the left corridor and force open the next door, behind which there will be a storage room and a passage to the server room. Now you need to turn right, and then left - into a long corridor, at the end of which someone’s figure can be seen.

After the short cutscene, use the terminal near the closed door and return to the large map in the main hall.

You can immediately scan it, then you will be able to enable its display in the left corner of the screen using the V key.

    Login to the server room

Enter the server room and use the Alpha terminal, selecting “Use” and “Turn off” on it. Enter the command sequence for protocol hacking, which is randomly generated and is the base puzzle in the game.

To move to the adjacent room with the Bravo terminal, jump into the hatch in the floor, go along the corridor and climb the stairs. When you try to use the second terminal, V will be overtaken by a strong cyber attack and will have to look for another way to disconnect. Scan the terminal, then use the prompt that appears to crawl underneath it and disconnect the cables in the back.

As soon as you start to get out from under the terminal, a cut-scene will start with a robot that almost has time to finish off V, but thanks to the timely intervention of Jay, he will simply be thrown into the corridor.

    Hide from the robot

Once you gain control after the scene, turn 180 degrees and run away from the car chasing you. At the end of the corridor there will be an open door and in it you will find a hatch in the floor directly to the left after entering.

Jump into it and move along the tunnel in the only accessible direction until you see pipes on the right. Now climb into this opening, behind it there will be a staircase going up.

If you move from the beginning of the chase, always keeping to the left, you will come to where you need to go - to the saving ladder.

Go through the room with another memory fragment. And get out into the corridor, for convenience, turn on the map of the complex using the V key.

    Terminals "Sierra" and "Victor"

Get to the security room and turn right, the terminal will be on the left behind the second door. Once you hack it, a robot will head into the room. We advise you to hide behind the boxes in the far part of the room, then the machine will leave without detecting you.

In the previous room there is a window on the right; you can jump there and wait out the mechanism patrolling the corridor.

The door to the engine room is not functioning, the terminal needs to be repaired first. To do this, look at the warehouse opposite and use the technical skill on the electronic panel behind the boxes. When you hear a robot approaching, simply hide behind them and wait for it to leave.

Once out into the corridor, on the left you will find a passage to the last terminal. Hack it in the same way as the previous one and again wait for the room to be checked by the ubiquitous “security guard”.

Now you need to get back to the remote control that you used first - it is located near the gate slammed by Jay. Use the panel in front of the door to open the unlocked passage and move on.

    Break away from the chase

The combat vehicle will follow you, so immediately run along the tunnel, focusing on the trail of the Black Barrier. As soon as the first accessible door appears on the left, turn into it. It opens with the remote control on the right and the same remote control must be immediately used at the next door, then the airlock will begin to close and the robot will be cut off.

    Find traces of Jay

Collect equipment in the bunker and go to the next door. Behind it, another piece of memory awaits you, this time about Myers. Adjust the pressure with the remote control at the exit and continue through the airlock.

In the wide corridor, go around the boxes and open the door by force. The objective of the quest will change.

Talk to Jay and stop the procedure

Go down the stairs on the left, following the red digital trail markers. Then, after talking with Jay, you will need to return upstairs to the terminal and “turn off the core.”

After this, you will need to complete the procedure manually on three additional computers located in other rooms. Go back to the wide corridor and move in the opposite direction until you reach the “Laboratory” sign and "Kernel Control Center", from where you can go to several adjacent compartments at once.

Next there will be several rooms with corresponding signs, in each of which you need to solve a puzzle with a terminal. The first connection to each of them will cause a failure, then they can be disabled either through a personal port (with intelligence 20+), or using improvised means, individual for each computer.

    Temperature control point

After interacting with the terminal in this room, scan the cables above that lead to the window on the right. Then wait in the next room - a visit from the ubiquitous robot is likely. After scanning, you will be able to lift the shutters and get out (you can have time to hide here too). There is a power switch here that you can turn off.

    Neural network control center

Scan the device above the terminal. After this, you will need to damage the three cables running to it along the floor. Alas, you will have to pause for another hide and seek, since the caretaker will visit you here too. The easiest way is to crawl around the computers in the center of the room, moving out of the enemy's line of sight.

    Digital Fortress Control Center

A scan of the terminal will show that the control units in this and the previous room are connected to it. You can navigate by the indicating lines extending from the device at the time of study.

It’s better to use powerful weapons to damage targets and start with the furthest ones - this way you’ll be able to do it faster, because the robot is again in a hurry to see what you’re doing here.

    Hide from the robot

Return to the core control center - where communication with Jay was restored and the first shutdown terminal was used. However, turning off all the elements will force the robot to patrol this area, so you will have to hide until it calms down. We recommend either occupying any dark corner and hoping for luck, or sliding around the central column, tracking the enemy’s movements. It is quite difficult to escape, since the doors jam and you need to spend time opening them by force.

Relying on the trail of the Black Barrier, get to the main terminal. An attempt to complete the shutdown procedure will end in a cutscene in which the robot will grab V, but at the same moment contact will be established with Jay - for a short conversation in virtual space. After this meeting in the projection, you will return to reality, and the robot will turn off.

Use the terminal again and stop the system. Climb over the control panel and go across the bridge.

Enter the core and decide Jay's fate

Another plot fork will occur here, so we recommend making an additional save if you suddenly want to change your choice.

A dialogue will take place in the core that determines the ending of the add-on and the corresponding achievement at the end of the passage. The girl asks to kill her, preventing the US from taking possession of her and her abilities again.

Kill Somi (King of Cups ending)

Jay will ask for this herself - such a destiny seems preferable to her than her current state and the future that awaits her as a puppet of the Black Barrier. In this finale, a lot of personal things from Somi’s past will be revealed, but in the end the main character will be left without treatment. The service will also go to waste - Myers will fire V with severance pay. But it is also an opportunity to fulfill the last wish of a friend who, with all her might, continued to save V throughout this mission despite his/her betrayal at the stadium.

Keep Somi Alive (King of Pentacles ending)

You will need to refuse Somi's request to kill her several times. As a result, V and Reed will hand the girl over to the US, who will likely continue their experiments on her. Or they will cure and help, which Reed partly continues to believe in, not allowing doubts to take over.

This ending unlocks an additional "Tower" happy ending for the original game, in which V can be healed in exchange for Jay's freedom. Also, this ending will open if you betray Jay during the mission “Fading Star” (the continuation of “Judgment Day”, if you initially side with Somi and not Reed).

After the dialogue, the mission will end, but the next one, “Returning Home,” will begin immediately without your participation.
