How to start a task
There are no prerequisites to open this quest - just go to Chenyu Valley, and then get to the carefree simulacrum. This statue is located in a cave located in the Yaode Valley. The entrance to it is shown in the pictures below.
Go inside the dungeon and start going deeper into it to get to the Lingshu Courtyard. When you try to enter the spacious hall, a conversation with a carefree simulacrum will immediately begin. Chat with him, and then chase away the butterfly hovering above his head - just approach it twice, and it will fly into the jar “Upstairs”.
How to catch butterflies in a medicine jar
After this, the statue will ask you to find and catch 5 butterflies that are flying somewhere nearby. To do this, you will need to solve puzzles and pass combat Achievement: Challenger. The map below shows the approximate location of all butterflies. Next we will tell you in detail how to catch them.
First butterfly
From the sacred simulacrum, run south along the wooden path until you notice a group of mold and pestilence creatures. Deal with them and open the rich chest on the ledge. Then jump down from it.
Here you will find the first butterfly, which is locked in a huge jug. Opposite him is the same jug with a barrier. There will be a free pot in the middle.
To free the butterfly, use the power of the Adepts (T key by default) on the free pot. Now place it on the stone pedestal near the blocked jug as shown in the second picture below.
This will give you access to two pots. Pick them up using the power of the Adepts and place them on the two stone platforms in front of the jar with the locked butterfly. This will remove the Hurdle.
Now approach the butterfly and start following it. To do this, use the golden carp's jump, as the insect will stop in the air. Next, open the rich chest that appears and watch how the butterfly flies into the jar.
Second butterfly
Return to the place where you fought the moldies. Walk a little to the west and climb onto the ledge, where you will find a small clearing with two stone pots.
Approach the jug with purple butterflies fluttering around and interact with them to start the Achievement: Challenger. You will need to catch scattered butterflies.
First one of them is to your left - it flutters over two other stone vessels. Just get close to it and press "F" to catch it.
Second hid inside a broken jug located a few steps away from you on the right side (turn around).
Third flutters over a stalagmite located a little further to your right.
To be caught fourth butterfly hit the windmill with Anemo's attack, then use the air current to pick up the butterfly near the stone pillar.
Having collected all four purple butterflies, go downstairs, open the rich chest and watch how the insect flies into the jar.
Third butterfly
From your current location, run north and jump off the ledge towards the waterfall. There you will find a red Achievement: Challenger mark - interact with it to start the challenge.
You have to collect 18 Geo particles in 80 seconds. To do this, turn around and use the golden carp's jump to be pulled towards the water pearl “Upstairs”. Aim at the second pearl below and activate it. You will turn into a carp and begin to fly upward, automatically picking up particles.
At the end, get ready to be attracted to the third pearl hanging in the air. Then aim your sight at the hole in the huge jug and shoot yourself into it. Fly inside and open the rich chest. Approach the blue butterfly and take it to the exit so that it flies into the jar.
Fourth butterfly
Jump down from the huge pot and walk a little west to the drain. Here you will find a sacred simulacrum - pick it up using the power of the Adepts, and then place it on the illuminated pedestal nearby.
Now climb onto the stalagmite standing nearby. Point the camera towards the rock fresco painted in the west. This way you can free the butterfly. Approach the rich chest that appears so that the insect flies into the jar.
Fifth butterfly
Approach the rock art where the butterfly just flew out, then lift the camera up and use the power of the Adepts to enter the water pearl in the air. Aim towards the stone arch with the web and spider, and then shoot yourself there.
Blow up the red barrels to remove cobwebs and go under the arch into a spacious room. Go deep into it to the boxes and targets in the form of hilichurls - shoot at the red barrels (or just hit) to make enemies appear.
Take out the group of hilichurls, and then approach the orange butterfly that appears. Follow her until a rich chest appears and open it. The last insect will fly into the jar.
Explore the ancient tree and return to the Adept's chambers
Return to the sacred simulacrum and chat with it. Watch the video with the revival of the tree. Now go up to him and take out the Ancient Tree Branch. A luxurious chest will appear below - don’t forget to take its contents.
Return to the Adept's chambers by interacting with the butterflies floating above the water. You can also just go here if you have already removed the Hurdle earlier, destroying all the miasma.
How to find a medicine bottle and explore the secret storage
Once in the cave, go to the broken jug, next to which butterflies are fluttering, and interact with it. Use the twig you obtained earlier on it to plant a new tree. As a result, you will remove the Hurdle.
Go to the secret room that has opened and open the luxurious chest. Then start examining the ancient texts hidden on the book shelves to complete the mission.
