Gift of the Bow in Dragon's Dogma 2: where to get a bow and how to help Glindr

    Zorthrus

In Dragon's Dogma 2 Gift of the Bow is a side quest where you give Glyndr a human-made bow and then help him practice near the Trevo Mine. In this guide, we'll tell you where you can find the right weapons and how to get to the training area.

Walkthrough of the quest “Gift of the Bow” in Dragon's Dogma 2

    How to start a task

Follow the storyline to Wernworth and then head to Roderick's Smithy in the Merchant Quarter. Next to her you will find a blond elf named Glindr. Chat with him and he'll tell you that he wants to try out a human bow, but can't dare buy one.

So, to start the quest you will first need to get a bow - absolutely any of them will do. If you want to save money, you can buy weapons for 810 coins at the Border Outpost. Don't want to waste time? Then just buy the Hunting Bow from Roderick for about 4 thousand gold.

Then chat with the elf again and give him the purchased item. He will thank you and tell you that he is going to practice shooting with a new weapon near the Trevo mine. Glindr will also invite you to join him, and then leave.

How to get to Glyndra's training site

Important: Before heading to the training site, be sure to change your class to Archer. This can be done in the Vernworth Vocations Guild (see screenshots below) by spending 100 OD. You don’t have to worry about weapons and equipment, as you will automatically be given a starting set of equipment.

The location you need is located northwest of Vernworth, quite far away (the map below shows the entire route), and along the way you will meet many monsters, including a cyclops (ogre). However, it is not at all necessary to fight with them - you can simply run past the monsters, constantly calling pawns to you.

Exit the city through the northwest gate and start moving north along the main road, without turning anywhere. Soon you will see a stone bridge in the distance - at this point turn onto the path on the right and go up a little, then turn left and cross the bridge. This is where the Cyclops can attack you.

Continue towards the quest marker. It is not necessary to follow the road - you can simply take a shortcut by going straight up the slope and the roots of the tree. Then go through the gorge and you will find yourself in the Mountain Ruins. Glindr will be standing in the water - approach him.

How to help Glindr practice with his new bow

After a short conversation with the elf, pick up the bow and then hold down the Aimed Shot (RB) button. Next, aim at the wooden plank hanging under the stone arch and shoot at it by releasing your finger from the button.

Glindr will understand the main difference between human and elven bows, and then fire a couple of shots and hit the target. This will bring the task to an end. As a reward, you will receive 1600 experience points, 8.5 thousand gold and a Ring of Proximity, which increases the power of the shot in direct proportion to the owner’s proximity to the target.
