About a year ago, HoYoverse representatives indirectly announced an anime series based on Genshin Impact, posting its concept trailer, and yesterday new details about the project surfaced, posted by insider Tsumi.

It is noted that the anime has been created for two years (since the release of Inazuma). The famous team is working on its production Ufotable, which previously produced big-budget series such as Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Words and Demon Slayer.

At present, the authors have not yet decided on the format of its release: it is planned to show either short films lasting 40 minutes, or standard series divided into several seasons. In the latter case, the timing will be enough for 100 episodes.

According to an insider, this project will have to become one of the best works of Ufotable. Plus, it could be the most expensive anime series in the history of the industry, as the budget for one episode already exceeds the cost of producing an episode of any other anime.

According to rumors, the story of the series will not begin with the arrival of the Traveler in Teyvat, but 1000 years before this event. Apparently, HoYoverse plans to significantly expand the lore of the universe.
