Critics were delighted with the remake of Resident Evil 4

As a result, the first ratings for the game began to appear on the network, which turned out to be very high - the average rating on Metacritic is 93 points out of 100 possible (based on 88 reviews). This is even higher than the remake of the second part (91 points).

Most of the reviewers said that the developers managed to perfectly update RE4, significantly improving the visual component and accurately recreating the atmosphere of the original. It uses the same gameplay elements, but they have been significantly improved and modernized. According to some reviewers, the remake could even surpass the original game, so the desire to return to it from the fans will arise less and less.

Only a few critics gave the game satisfactory ratings. IN Siliconera, for example, noted that the studio modernized horror too much, so it lost many of the features that made it a legendary game. IN Dualshockers on the contrary, they felt that the new product turned out to be too similar to the original, in contrast to the same RE2 remake.

We add that information has also appeared on the network about the company's plans to release an add-on for the Resident Evil 4 remake, which will add a separate story chapter for Ada Wong to it. Insider Dusk Golem noted that the corresponding mission will be larger and more elaborate than in the original.
