HoYoverse posted a prologue trailer on its video channel Genshin Impact dedicated to Fontaine. It was the first time that new characters from this Hydro region were officially introduced.
The game's Japanese Twitter page later posted images of all the characters with their names. You can check them out below. In the following, we will briefly describe what we know about these characters at this point in time. Note that information about their elements and weapons is based on rumors, so they may well change in the future.
- Lini (Pyro, Onion) and Lynette (Anemo, one-handed sword) are brother and sister who perform in public as magicians. Apparently, they will work for Arlekino. Their release may take place already in patch 4.0.
- Freminet (Cryo, two-handed sword) is a diver from Fontaine who has to constantly work with complex equipment. He is uncommunicative, which makes it seem that he does not care about others. May also be released in update 4.0.
- Navia (Geo, ?) - Associated with Fontaine's navy and possibly the Light faction.
- Clorinda (?, one-handed sword) - she was previously called "Captain R", so she is most likely somehow connected to Fontaine's power structures. Judging by the shades of her clothes, she will belong to the Hydro element.
- Sigevinn (Hydro, Onion) is a representative of an underwater race. Perhaps he works in an underground prison as a doctor.
- Risley (Cryo, two-handed sword) - works in a huge underground prison located under Fontaine.
- Navillet (Hydro, two-handed sword) is Fontaine's chief judge.
- Phryne (Hydro, one-handed sword) - Hydro Archon.
- Arlekino (Pyro, one-handed sword) is the harbinger of Fatui, who for some unknown reason arrived in Fontaine.
The main villain of the Hydro region arc, apparently, will still be Arlekino. According to rumors, two more harbingers will arrive here: Tartaglia and Sandrone. It is not known whether they plan to help their "colleague" or pursue their own goals.
