First gameplay, screenshots and new details about Dune Awakening

Developers from the company Funcom finally showed the first video in which gamers can watch the gameplay of the upcoming Dune Awakening.

In the game, users will visit the planet Arrakis, infested with giant worms. In addition to battles, players will also find more peaceful activities. For example, relationships with other similar researchers will play an important role.

Before they begin to unravel the mysteries and meet the heroes of the Dune world, gamers will have to master basic survival skills in the desert. For example, quickly find shelters that will help you escape from the scorching sun.

In addition to the gameplay, the development team presented fresh screenshots of Dune Awakening and shared some details.

• As for the plot, although it will be based on the Dune universe, it is not actually connected in any way to the events described in the books, since it will take place several years before the arrival of House Atreides on Arrakis. History itself will take a different path.
• The editor in the game will be less deep than in Conan Exiles..
• Immediately after release, only two factions will be available to players. You can play as the Atreides and Harkonnens. However, later the developers will add at least one more House.
• After the release of the project, you will not be able to ride sandworms, as this mechanic will be added later. True, when is unknown. And as they move through the desert, gamers will encounter increasingly larger worms.
• The main character will have access to spice, but it is not yet clear what benefits it will provide. Most likely, it enhances the character's skills.
• The world will be divided into dangerous and absolutely safe areas. The first gamers will experience a weekly wipe that will destroy all buildings.
• The developers also haven’t forgotten about battle passes. Fortunately, they are not planning to introduce loot boxes.

The project does not have a release date yet. It is known that the release will take place on personal computers, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox ONE.
