Before the next update for Honkai: Star Rail the developers decided to publish a new animated trailer for the game, which is entirely dedicated to the backstory of Acheron (Nothingness: Electric).
The video shows the world of Takamagahara, which is adjacent to Izuma (an Easter egg for Inazuma from Genshin Impact) and is the homeland of Acheron (not her real name). He was attacked by Yaoyorozu no kami, and to protect himself from them, 12 Guardian Swords were created (an easter egg for the 12 Judges or Herrschers from Honkai Impact 3rd), however, they were all broken and then melted into two more blades - the Beginning and the End (again a reference to the Herrschers of the Beginning and the End). This allowed the people to win and repel the attack of the “demons,” but the victory came at the cost of terrible losses. Now only the sword Life, which, most likely, is currently in Acheron’s possession, can return everything to the beginning.
After the release of this trailer, many fans of the HoYoverse games immediately speculated that Acheron is actually Raiden Mei from Honkai Impact 3rd, as she not only has a similar appearance, but she is also voiced by the same actress, and in the video you can hear Herrscher's theme song thunder and the beginning: Houkai Sekai no Utahime and Diva of Disruptive World (at 1:30 and 3:00 minutes of the video).
However, in reality they are not connected in any way and are different characters. They, of course, have common features, both in terms of appearance and backstory, but all of this is just Easter eggs made for fans of the company's games. This was announced by the lead writer of both Honkai games during the live broadcast.
