In the near future, fans of the adventures of Henry from Kingdom Come Deliverance can look forward to a new journey, because Warhorse Studio preparing for release Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. At the press conference following the announcement of the game, the developers shed light on a number of interesting additional aspects of the expected new product.

The creators from Warhorse talked about new mechanics, highlighted the differences between this project and its predecessor, and also delved into the intricacies of the storyline. Below we highlight the main details of the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 being developed.

What's in the plot

The game takes place 7 days after the end of the story Kingdom Come Deliverance. At the same time, you do not need to know the first part to enjoy the sequel.

At the beginning of his story, Henry goes through a transformative journey, moving from adolescence to adulthood. But in the upcoming sequel, he will develop further, turning from a simple man into a formidable warrior.

• The narrative of the second part, according to the authors, will surpass the greatness of its predecessor and will boast an increased level of darkness, depth and cinematic quality;
• Striving for historical accuracy, the creators from Warhorse relied on information from professional reenactors, historians and scientists whose profile is the era taken as the basis for the game;
• Gamers will face many brutal events and decisions that will challenge their moral principles;
• Transferring saved game files from the original Kingdom Come Deliverance is prohibited.
• While exploring the city of Kutna Hora, players will have the opportunity to meet a variety of heroes from different ethnic groups;

Gameplay

• Firearms and crossbows will appear in the game, but this will not affect the complexity of the already proven combat system and certainly will not turn a shooter out of the Middle Ages;
• They will add a function for quick responses to NPC remarks, for which you will not have to enter a separate dialog box;
• It will be possible to travel with companions whom Henry will meet during the course of the story. Most likely, this will not happen on an ongoing basis;
• Since Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will have two new maps, players will find a lot more activities, random encounters and side quests.

A little about technology

The authors from Warhorse will surprise fans not only with the plot and new gameplay ideas: the development of the game continues on CryEngine, but the engine has been heavily modified since the first part.

• The setting of Kingdom Come 2 will unfold on 2 maps, each of which is almost the size of the game world of the 1st part;
• Kutna Hora will become a really big city compared to other settlements. As the authors stated, its scale could have been reduced since recreating such a large area presented the most challenges;
• The authors also worked on the liveliness of the city: all NPCs will have their own housing and daily schedule, and some will be completely absent at night.

There is no exact release date for the game yet, all we know is that it will be in 2024 on PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.
