Let us recall that, according to rumors, Xbalanque is one of the elemental dragons and the first Archon of Natlan, as well as the former mentor of Mavuika. At the same time, Nevillet called him “buried by primordial fire,” that is, he is currently imprisoned somewhere, and these lights in the form of runes may actually be seals restraining him, through which he can communicate with his student.
It is possible that with the help of the upcoming tournament, Mavuika is going to somehow free Xbalanque. His prison, apparently, is deep underground. It is likely that this plan will require Capitano's power, so Pyro Archon wants him to take part in the battle.
