This morning I passed long stream, dedicated to the update 5.0 for Genshin Impact, in which the developers revealed many details about the upcoming content. In this Fontaine: Big News, we will tell you about the key features of the patch.
First of all, let's talk about the future banners. As some insiders said, in the first phase you will be able to get Mualani (Hydro, catalyst) and Kazuha (Anemo, one-handed sword) with an increased chance. They will be accompanied by the epic Kachina (Geo, spear). The first new heroine is able to summon a "surfboard" for quick movement around locations, and the second - a mechanical drill for quick ascent up steep cliffs.
In the second half of the patch, the developers will release Kinich (Dendro, two-handed sword) and rerun Raiden Shogun (Electro, spear). The new character is able to quickly cover large distances with the help of his grappling hook.
As for weapons, signature weapons of Kinich and Mualani will be released - Fang of the Mountain King (claymore) and Surf the Wave (catalyst) respectively. Plus, there are plans to add a new set of 4-star craftable weapons from Natlan, which will require special blueprints and ore from Fontaine to craft. In addition, as part of the main event of the patch, it will be possible to obtain the Ashen Horn catalyst.
The studio is also going to add a new dungeon to the game, where you can get two additional sets of artifacts: Scroll of the Hero of the Burnt City and Obsidian Tome. The first one restores energy and increases elemental damage, and the second one increases overall damage and crit chance. Both sets are intended for heroes from Natlan, as they are related to the mechanics of the Night Spirit.
There will be two new elite bosses, the materials from which will be needed to level up new heroes: the Golden Flame Tyrant Cornusaurus and the Voracious Yumkasaurus Mountain King. The first has high resistance to Pyro, and the second - to Dendro attacks.
Of course, there will be a continuation of the main story - it is planned to release two new chapters of the Natlan branch at once. The first will be called "Flowers under the scorching sun". Within them, you will be able to visit various Natlan tribes and meet a lot of new characters, including Chaska and Iansan. By the way, for completing these missions you will be able to get Kachina absolutely free.
Players will also be able to get to know the new characters better by completing the quests of the legends of Kinich and Mualani. A lot of new quests have been prepared to familiarize themselves with the culture, history, and life of the various tribes of the Pyro Kingdom. It has also become known that the heroes of Natlan will receive a special mechanic called the Night Spirit - after activating this state, they will be able to inflict more damage and use special methods of movement around the locations.
While exploring the new region, players will encounter new creatures – saurians. In update 5.0, three types of these creatures will be introduced: yumkasaurus (Dendro), tepetlisaurs (Geo) and coholasaurus (Hydro), which can be possessed by collecting phlogiston (special particles). Taking control of such a dragon, you will be able to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles.
There are several new events planned: Memories of Teyvat, Traces of Mastery, Dodoko's Adventure Boom, and Thorns and Crowns. Information about them is provided in the video below. The developers talked about a lot of different innovations that are designed to make the gameplay more comfortable and convenient:
- Access to Archon's quests in Natlan will open from Adventure Rank 28, after completing the Liyue story arc. To do this, you will need to use the "Quick Start". Completing them will give more Primogems than usual.
- Players who return to Genshin Impact after a long absence will receive additional prayers.
- A new material will appear that will allow you to choose characteristics when creating artifacts.
- It will make it much easier to find local curiosities, as their locations will be highlighted on the map.
- Increased rewards for finding and opening Deep Tombs in Natlan from 40 Primogems to 80.
- In the paid BP, players will be able to choose the type of materials given as a reward.
- A new guarantee system, “Captivating Radiance,” will be introduced, allowing you to obtain an event character even if you lose in “50/50.”
- The number of Destiny Points in Incarnation of the Deity will be reduced to 1, meaning that now when you draw a legendary weapon again, you are guaranteed to get the signature you need.
- New cards will appear in the card game "Genius Invokation TCG".
- The Imaginarium Theatre will receive additional levels.
- The Traveler will not be able to immediately switch to the Pyro element when interacting with the Archon statue in Natlan. This will be explained in more detail in the story quests.
