In this article we will tell you when patch 2.4 will be released for Honkai: Star Rail, as well as what new characters, banners, enemies, events, light cones, locations, relics and tasks await you in it. We will gradually update this article, so we recommend bookmarking it.
Note: At this point in time, the information below is based not only on statements from the developers, but also on leaks and files obtained by data miners and testers, so it is not 100% reliable and may change over time.
Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 release date
HoYoverse has returned to the previous patch duration of 6 weeks, so the next version of the game will be released July 31, 2024. If the developers do not change the schedule again, it will be replaced by update 2.5 around September 4 of this year.
You can preload the client a few days before its release. The developers will probably carry out technical work, which can last up to five hours. Players are usually given compensation of 300 star jades.
Live broadcast on Honkai: Star Rail 2.4
Developers almost always hold special streams 1.5-2 weeks before the next update is released. They are usually organized on Friday-Sunday. A live broadcast of the current patch will be held July 19-21, 2024 at 14:30 Moscow time. As part of it, 3 will be published promotional code for 300 star jades.
New banners and characters
The company has already officially unveiled three new characters that are likely to be released in patch 2.4, namely Yunli, Jiaoqiu and March 7th. At the same time, insiders published the characteristics and approximate time of appearance of these and other heroes.
First phase banners
In the first half of the patch during Jumps You can get the following characters:
- 5-star – Yunli (Destruction: Physical).
- 4-star – March 7th (Hunt: Imaginary).
Yunli has a rather straightforward character and is the favorite granddaughter of Huaiyan, who bears the title Flame Heart. He holds the position of general on the Zhuming Xianzhou, one of the ships of the Xianzhou fleet. Since her childhood, her grandfather taught the heroine the art of forging and swordsmanship. Thanks to this, the girl was able to become the second youngest swordswoman in the Fire Wheel Octet. She vowed to destroy all the cursed blades that she hated that infested Zhuming. According to UBatcha, Yunli's gameplay is reminiscent of Clara and Blade. During battle, she uses up her own health, and the bulk of the damage comes from superpowers and bonus attacks.
As for March 7th, she will take the path of the Lord of the Heavenly Arc (Hunting), change the element of attacks from Ice to Imaginary and arm herself with twin blades. As previously stated, this skin will change similar to the path mechanics of the Pathfinder. However, there is one “but”: the heroine will remain an epic rarity. If we talk about Eidolons, they will be free, and 3 of them can be obtained as part of the main event of the patch.
In the weapon banner you will be able to get Yunli's signature weapon called "Sunset Dance".
Second phase banners
In the second half of the patch (starts on August 21), the following characters can be obtained during Jumping:
- 5-star – Jiaoqiu (Nothingness: Fire).
- 4-star – unknown yet.
Jiaoqiu is a member of the Alchemy Commission. He heals people with food. One day, an unknown tragedy occurred in his life, because of which he renounced his healing work. The illness of General Feixiao prompted him to return to this activity. Although the fox has a pleasant and friendly appearance, there is a rather calculating nature hidden inside him.
Quite early leaks from Seele leaks and Homdcat report that Jiaoqiu’s skills are aimed at reducing the defense of enemies and applying another, as yet unknown, debuff to them. His ultimate restores a little HP to the squad, but it is unlikely that he can replace a full-fledged healer.
In the weapon banner, you will be able to get Jiaoqiu's signature weapon called "These Multiple Sources".
Changing the map
The developers are planning to add a new location to Lofu Xianzhou - The Shackling Prison. Insiders note that it turned out to be very unusual, as it has not only a unique design, but also an extremely complex multi-level structure. This area will consist of 5 floors.
A possible map of the new location has already appeared online. Some places are not yet fully finished. It is noted that it will have rotating areas. Of course, it will be possible to find many new chests, puzzles and activities.
New tasks
Development Missions
The story arc of Penaconia is completed, so it’s time for the Star Express to move on, however, the developers are not planning to add any new planets, but are going to expand the existing worlds. Our team will again travel to Luofu Xianzhou to participate in an event where we will be able to meet a lot of new characters.
Most likely, all these events will take place within the framework of the continuation mission of Development, in which the above prison will be unlocked.
Companion Missions
Considering the appearance of two new legendary characters in the game, the developers will certainly add additional personal quests for the heroes. However, it is not yet known who exactly will receive them.
New light cones

This effect increases the damage received by the enemy by 10-18% for 2 turns. When the wearer deals damage to an enemy with the Unarmored status, there is a 60% chance to apply the Cornered debuff to them, increasing the damage they take by 18-30%. |
New enemies
The developers intend to add three new elite opponents, which are fighting machines developed by the Guild of Scholars based on biological creatures. They have incredible resilience and can adapt to changing conditions.
These enemies are able to enter Lunar Fury mode, which increases the speed of the monsters, and attacks begin to inflict Bleed or restore their health. If a vulnerability is breached, they exit this state. In this mode, they also have a 100% chance of inflicting a non-resettable Lingering Fear on all characters, which prevents them from moving for one turn.
New events
Saga of Primaveral Blade
The main event of patch 2.4, which will explain how exactly March 7th received her new Path. The fact is that she was invited to become a disciple of Yanqing and Yunli as part of the War Dance ceremony. The Trailblazer will become her assistant: he will have to plan training and organize sword duels.
In 15 days, March 7th must learn to fence in order to defeat Scott. To do this, you will need to conduct classes, increasing the student’s characteristics and teaching her new techniques. All this will take place through unique mini-games. The story will have several endings, each of which will reward you with additional rewards. The reward also includes Eidolons for March 7th.
