Characteristics of Tartaglia

Skills

Child is interesting in that his basic ability affects the type of basic attacks. In one mode, he will use a long-range Onion, and in the other, a melee weapon. Each one adds a different effect to Ebb's strikes, allowing you to choose your playstyle by constantly switching between them.

His ultimate also has two different modes, but each of them will deal a powerful water hammer. In general, his ranged attacks cause Ebb, and his melee attacks "activate" him. All this makes this character an extremely interesting primary or secondary damage dealer. Below we will take a closer look at his skills.

Normal Attack: Cutting Torrent: normal attack - allows you to fire up to 6 arrows from a bow; charged attack - allows you to make an aimed shot that deals additional damage. In the latter case, with a certain probability, the enemy receives damage from Hydro and the negative status Ebb. If Tartaglia hits enemies with this effect, they will receive Hydro damage in an area.
Foul Legacy: Raging Tide (Elemental Skill) - Allows up to 6 hits with melee weapons. While holding the skill button, the character performs a cross-slash that deals Hydro damage (consumes stamina). When attacking enemies with the Ebb effect, the Achievement: Hero deals Hydro damage in an area. This ability can be used for 30 seconds. The longer this stance is used, the longer it will take to cool down the skill.
Havoc: Obliteration: Ranged Attack (Chaos Blast) - Fires a hydro arrow that deals AOE water damage and inflicts Ebb; Melee Attack (Light of Doom) - Delivers a massive area of effect attack that deals water damage and can cause Ebb-Explosion (water explosions that deal area damage).

Talents

Tartaglia has some powerful perks, but you'll need a lot of luck to access the really powerful talents. Unfortunately, this moment of pumping is tied to a banal accident.

Level 1 - Spirit Form. Wave Breaker: Reduces the cooldown of Raging Waves by 20%.
Level 2 - Spirit Form. Hidden Current: The character gains 4 elemental energy after defeating opponents with the Ebb status.
Level 3 - Chaos of the Abyss. Source of Unrest: Increases the level of Raging Waves by 3, up to a maximum level of 15.
Level 4 - Temple of the Abyss. Hydro Spout: If the Achievement: Hero is in melee stance, then every 4 seconds, enemies with Ebb will take damage from Ebb-strike. Otherwise, Flash Ebb is activated. If these effects are caused by a talent, they are not subject to the standard duration restrictions.
Level 5 - Chaos. Shapeless Blade: Increases Devastation by 3. Max level 15.
Level 6 - Chaos. Angel Hunt: If Ravage is cast while in melee stance, Raging Waves' cooldown is reset. Activates only after returning to ranged stance.

The best builds for Tartaglia

Basic Hydro DPS

With the highest elemental burst multiplier in the game, this character can deal massive Hydro damage. Like Diluc, he becomes unstoppable with high-level constellations, however, even without them, he can become an extremely powerful damage dealer. If you have Noelle or another Geo character on your team, you can replace the artifacts below with the Retracing Bolide set.

As weapons, we recommend using the following bows:

Skyward Harp (5-star) - Increases critical damage by 20%. Grants a 60% chance to hit an area of effect equal to attack power. Happens every 4 seconds. A great option for Tartaglia, but the probability of getting it is very low.
Rust (4-star) - Increases normal attack damage by 40 percent, but reduces damage from aimed shots by 8 percent.
The Stringless (4-star) - Increases damage dealt by elemental skill and elemental explosion by 24%.
The Viridescent Hunt (4-star) - Hitting with a normal or charged shot has a 50% chance to create a Cyclone, pulling enemies in and dealing 40% damage every half second for 4 seconds. The effect occurs every 14 seconds.

As for Artifact Sets, the best option would be to collect the Heart of Depth set, 2 elements of which increase Hydro damage by 15 percent. If you collect 4 items, then after using the elemental skill, the damage from normal and aimed shots is increased by 30 percent for 15 seconds. You can get this set in the dungeon "Peak of Vindagnyr".

If you are unable to assemble a complete set, then you can use the following two incomplete sets:

Heart of Depth: 2 items - Increase Hydro damage by 15%.
Noblesse Oblige - 2 items: Elemental explosion damage is increased by 20%. Can be obtained when passing dungeons "Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern" in Liyue.

Basic DPS (critical damage)

If you don't plan on using Tartaglia's Elemental Burst often, you can try increasing his Attack Rating and Critical Chance even further. In this case, you can take as a weapon:

Combination with other characters
