In Genshin Impact Cryo Hypostasis is elite boss, for killing which you get rare artifacts and materials necessary for the exaltation of a number of characters. In this guide, we will tell you where you can find this enemy, which teams are best for dealing with him, and what needs to be done to damage him.

    Where to find Cryo Hypostasis

You can find this boss in the Dragonspine region, in the upper part of the Surroundings of the Buried Capital (there is a teleport near the arena). Previously, here it was necessary to fight the Guardians of the Ruins in order to create a hole in the cave. Now the hole is covered with ice again, and an ice cube will be waiting for you right in the center.

We add that if you are currently completing the quest "In the Mountains", then there will be no Cryo Hypostasis at the specified location. It is possible that this boss appears only after completing this task. Therefore, if you cannot find it, then look at the list of current missions.

Make sure you have 40 primordial resin before you start the fight with the ice cube. Otherwise, you will not be able to take a well-deserved reward later. When you deal with the enemy, you can fight him again after about 5-10 minutes (you can speed up this process by teleporting to another place and returning back).

    Recommended team

    The best option

    • Primary DPS: Klee
    • Secondary DPS: Fischl
    • Support: Zhongli
    • Support (Traveling Doctor): Bennett

Thanks to the Pyro Resonance, which increases attack power by 25%, Klee can easily create the elemental Melt reaction when fighting Cryo Hypostasis. Raise this stat even further by activating Bennet's Elemental Burst. At the end of the combo, use the "ult" of the fiery shorty.

Zhongli will help you protect the squad from powerful enemy attacks, especially at the last stage, when you will need to destroy his Hurdle. If your life bar goes down a lot, then use Bennet's skills to heal the group.

The image above shows the characters from which you can also assemble a good team to destroy this Cryo boss. The squad should consist of 1 primary DPS, 2 secondary DPS and 1 support (or 2 supports and 1 secondary DPS).

    Free option

    • Main DPS: Xiangling
    • Secondary DPS: Lisa
    • Secondary DPS: Amber
    • Support (Traveling Doctor): Barbara, Noelle or Traveler (Geo)

Two Pyro heroes in a team will give a bonus to attack power. Xiangling will also be able to deal additional damage with the Melt reaction. If Barbara’s Treatment doesn't help much or you get frozen a lot because of her, then you can take Noelle to put shields on your characters.

    How to defeat Cryo Hypostasis

    Combat tips and boss vulnerabilities

Wait for the shield to fall

Like other hypostases, this opponent has a strong, Noelle: Protector that protects his core and does not allow him to be damaged. The Hurdle drops after the boss performs various ice attacks. After that, immediately hit him with Pyro and Electro skills. He will only be vulnerable for a few seconds.

    Keep a middle distance

If you run too far away from the ice cube, then you will then have to return to it for a long time when it completes its next attack. As a result, you may not have time to run to him to deal damage. Therefore, we advise you to keep a medium distance and try to simply dodge enemy attacks.

Don't forget to use warming poles

When in the arena with the boss, the scale of severe frost will rise much faster than usual. If it reaches a critical point, then your character will begin to lose health. To prevent this, activate the warming columns around the boss.

We advise you not to move away from them until the core of the enemy is exposed. You can also leave their area of action at the final stage of the battle, when you have to throw crystals into Hypostasis Cryo.

Bounce to the side during a spin attack

If you notice that the enemy began to spin quickly, standing in a vertical position, then this means that very soon he will “roll” in your direction, and the boss will be able to change the direction of his movement. To dodge this attack, dash at the very last second. In this case, the boss will not be able to turn to you in time.

Stay close to the core during the spike attack

The boss will periodically create ice spikes protruding from the ground. The best way to avoid damage is to stay close to the core. Standing there will also allow you to quickly deal damage to your opponent when they complete their attack.

Throw frost crystals at Cryo Hypostasis

When you significantly reduce the boss's life bar, he will move to the center of the arena and create an impenetrable Hurdle. Don't even try to destroy it with regular hits or elemental skills. Instead, start throwing crystals at him, which will periodically fly out of the ice cube. To do this, you need to use charged attacks.

Note that it is best to switch to the archer at this stage, since his charged shots also allow you to throw frost crystals, but they do not consume stamina. As soon as you remove the Noelle: Protector from the enemy, you can quickly finish him off.

    Prepare power-up dishes and potions

We advise you to take a Frostshield Potion before the battle, which increases resistance to Cryo damage by 25% for 5 minutes. Depending on the heroes you have, use Thundering or Flaming Essential Oil, which increases Electro or Pyro damage.

From food you can take Adeptus’ Temptation, which increases attack power and critical damage, Mondstadt Hash Brown, which restores health, and Delicious Goulash, which reduces the rate of accumulation of severe frost.

    Cryo Hypostasis Moves and Attacks

Crusher – The boss creates two walls that slam against each other, creating a small pop that deals AoE damage and knocks you down. This attack has a rather long animation, so you can easily dodge it by dashing to the side. After this attack, you can start hitting the enemy.

Freezing Rain - The boss rises slightly and then creates a lot of icicles that bombard the area around him. To avoid damage, run away from the enemy as far as possible. After this attack, you can start hitting the enemy.

Barrage - The boss turns into a circular pentagram, and the cubes circling around him begin to fly in your direction. Run from side to side to dodge projectiles. During this attack, Cryo Hypostasis becomes vulnerable to your attacks.

Ice spikes - the boss creates puddles in various parts of the arena, from which sharp spikes then appear. As soon as you see circles under your feet, immediately jump to the side. During this attack, Cryo Hypostasis becomes vulnerable to your attacks.

Ruinous Wheel - The boss transforms into an ice wheel, and then rushes towards you at high speed. As we noted above, you need to dodge the attack at the very last second. We add that the wheel can easily turn around and roll in your direction again, so carefully monitor its movements.

    Rewards for killing Cryo Hypostasis

Having dealt with this boss, you can get a lot of useful gizmos. In addition to 200 Adventure Points, Friendship Points, and Pestilence, you will receive materials for Ganyu, Kaeya, Dione, Rosary, Chun Yun, and Qiqi to ascend. Here is the complete list:
