In Sons of the Forest, the cross can be considered a melee weapon, as you can use it to kill demons, which are some of the most powerful mutants in the game. In this guide, we will tell you where you can find all the crosses, and exactly how to use them against monsters.
Where to find the cross in Sons of the Forest
At this point in time, two crosses can be found in the game, and one of them will be easier to get than the other. You can only keep one crucifix with you at a time, so if you find this item, then it makes no sense to go for the second one.
Note: Perhaps an extra cross can be transferred to your companion. This information is still not verified.
First cross
It is located in the same cave as cable thrower. If you have not yet obtained this tool, then the entrance to the desired dungeon is located in the southwestern part of the island, deep in the forest. You will find it next to a small pond and a river. The pictures below show the exact location. Go to the hole, break the boards with an ax and crawl inside.
After going inside, start moving down the only tunnel. Then you will be on a ledge with two ropes. Collect the ropes and go down the small path to a spacious underground area. Walk forward, keeping to the right wall.
After a few seconds, you should see the light of a lamp ahead and a large shadow of a cross on the left wall. Come to this place. Right next to the floor lamp, you will see a crucifix lying on the cobblestone - take it.
Second cross
You will find him in the final bunker, located in the northeastern region of the island, not far from the coast. The exact location of the hideout is shown in the images below. To get there, you need VIP key card. In addition, crowds of dangerous monsters and cannibals await you inside, so prepare first-aid kits and good weapons in advance.
Note: We strongly advise you to try to find the first cross, as it is much easier to do so. The second crucifix, most likely, was added by the developers for those players who, for one reason or another, missed the first one, since at the end of the story you will often have to deal with demons.
After entering inside, run straight, and at the fork go down to the lowest level on the stairs on the left. Then go through the open door on the left side. Go forward through the first, second and third halls (with a white toy rabbit on the floor). After passing through the passage ahead, turn left and go down the stairs again, and then go into the left passage.
Go through the next room and open yellow door, and at the fork, turn left and go along the white corridor forward. Near the reception desk, turn left into the gallery, and then enter the right passage. Walk through the hallway and you will enter the VIP area. Turn left and go past the big screen. In this new room, you can find a cross on a stand.

How to use the cross against demons
The note you found will say that you can burn demonic creatures with the help of a crucifix, and its author did not lie. The demons in the game are called special mutants, which move on four limbs and outwardly resemble Gollum from The Lord of the Rings. These monsters move extremely fast and hit painfully, so they are dangerous even for an experienced survivalist.
If you take a cross and use it on a demon, it will recoil and then burst into flames. The mutant will die after about 4-5 uses of the crucifix, which is quite a long time. We advise you to proceed as follows: set fire to the monster with a cross to knock him to the ground, and then quickly draw a shotgun and shoot the enemy at close range.
The cross, by the way, affects all nearby opponents, and not just one demon, so you can set fire to several monsters at once. As for ordinary mutants, they will not light up, but only back away from you in fear. You can use this to bypass the monsters without a fight, or scare them away from you, and then kill them from a safe distance.
Where to find demons
You are guaranteed to run into these creatures in the lava caverns that you have to go to at the end of the game. Therefore, it will be very good if you get a cross before that.
However, these mutants can also be encountered outdoors when exploring different locations. The probability of their appearance will increase over time, that is, the more days you live on the island, the higher the chance of demon attacks on you.
