In Sons of the Forest, the shotgun is a powerful firearm with which you can quickly take out cannibals, mutants and other enemies. It can also be modified by finding mounts and body kits for it. In this guide, we will tell you where you can find this gun and ammo for it.
Where to find the shotgun in Sons of the Forest
At this point in time, two shotguns can be found in the game at once. You can transfer extra weapons to your companion so that he can participate with you in clashes with monsters and natives.
First shotgun
You can find it in the north-west of the island, not far from one of the spawn points of the character, however, before you go in search of this weapon, you will need to acquire shovel. The desired location will be marked on the GPS navigator with a purple pointer. Arriving at the indicated location, you will find a grave and a wooden cross.
Pick up a shovel and start digging the ground in front of the cross. Soon you will see a coffin. Break the boards and you will find the dead body of a fighter, in whose hands you can find a shotgun. Just take the weapon. Do not be afraid - the corpse will not come to life. However, there are hungry cannibals running around, so be prepared to fight them.
Second shotgun
Before you go looking for him, we advise you to transfer the weapons you have to Virginia, since you cannot keep two shotguns in your inventory at the same time. Now go to the bunker, located near the northeast coast of the island. You will find large iron doors here. To open them you will need VIP key card.
Go inside the shelter, turn left, and then go down the stairs to the lower level. Turn into the open left passage. Move forward through three identical rooms (in the third room there will be a white toy rabbit on the floor). Then turn left again and run down the stairs even lower. Go through the open yellow door to the left.
Exit this room and turn left at the fork. Go forward along the corridor, and near the reception desk, turn left into the gallery, and then enter the right passage. Walk through the hallway and you will enter the VIP area. Go to the bar in front and take the shotgun from it. Nearby will also lie cartridges for him. Remember this place, as it can be useful for you to get endless ammo.
Where to find shotgun attachments
You can modify this gun by finding additional modules for it, for example, a flashlight or a laser pointer. We have shown the location of these items in gun guide. However, in order to install these upgrades, you will first need to find a mount.
At this point in time, you can find four places on the island where a shotgun mount can appear. The fact is that if you have already found two of these items, then the rest most likely will not appear (or you need not keep them in your backpack).
First mount
It is hidden in the same bunker as the VIP keycard, and you can also find it in the security room. In a separate guide, we showed the entire route. The screenshot below shows the shelf on which the module lies.
Second mount
It can be found inside a black case lying near a white tent in the northwestern part of the island. The screenshots below show the exact location of the item you need.
Third mount
You can find it right next to one of the spawn points, on the northern coast of the island. Move along the beach, and along the way you will see several boats, and next to the cliff - tents. Near one of the tents will lie the corpse of a fighter holding a module.
Fourth mount
This item is hidden in the same bunker as the second shotgun. It lies on a table, not far from the recreation room with a billiard table. Although by that time you will probably already find a couple of other mounts.
To connect it to a shotgun, open your inventory, select the module and weapon, and then click on the gear.
How to find shotgun ammo
Shotgun ammo often lies near the mounts to it. There are several similar places, the location of which can be seen in the screenshot below. Use interactive map for faster search of the desired locations.
We add that heavy ammo is also randomly generated in boxes, chests, cases and containers, so their location often depends on randomness. So we can only advise you to carefully examine all the vaults when exploring the island.
How to dupe Shotgun Ammo (Infinite)
As such, there is no ammo dupe in Sons of the Forest, but there is still a way to get an almost infinite amount of buckshot. First of all, find a shelter, a bunker, or any other location where you have the ammo you need (we have already indicated a similar place above).
Then set up a camp nearby (if there is no bed in this place), collect all the ammunition, create a save and exit from the main menu. Load the created save and you will find that all the bullets have recovered again. You can repeat doing this any number of times. Naturally, you can also use codes for infinite ammo.
