Modern and fire ax in Sons of the Forest: where to find

In Sons of the Forest, modern and fire axes are good melee weapons, with which you can not only deal effectively with various cannibals and mutants in close combat, but also cut down trees faster. In this guide, we will tell you where you can get these weapons, and which one can be considered the best.

Where to find Modern Ax in Sons of the Forest

It is stronger than an ordinary ax, however, weaker than a fire ax. At the same time, in theory, you can get it in the very first hours of the game. The fact is that it is located in an abandoned camp in the southwestern part of the island (this is where the hero usually spawns), and no additional tools are needed to obtain it. So, move to the point shown in the screenshots below.

To the northwest of a small body of water, you will find a campground. By the way, as a guide, you can use the music that will play from the tape recorder standing near the tents. Here, find the corpse of an operative, from which the weapon you need will stick out.

Note: Be careful, as it's not uncommon to encounter cannibals near the camp, so we advise you to prepare some homemade weapons before you go here.

Note that if it takes about 13-16 blows to cut an average tree with a standard battle ax, then a modern one will allow you to fell it in 7-10 blows. You will also be able to kill opponents faster.

Where to find the fire ax in Sons of the Forest

First of all, you will need to get shovel, since you will have to dig something. In a separate guide, we have detailed how to get this tool. Then go to the place shown in the screenshots below and located near the river. Here you will find a kind of construction site.

On the GPS-navigator, by the way, this place will be indicated by a green circle - this means that there is a shelter here, that is, an underground bunker. Pick up a shovel, go to the place with the tool icon and start digging. This process is not automatic, that is, you will have to manually dig the ground. Soon you should see a metal hatch.

Open the hatch, go down the stairs and start moving forward along the narrow corridor to the very end. You will enter a storage room. Then go to the opposite wall and take the fire ax from the half-open locker. Before leaving, be sure to look into the side room, as there you can find staff key card.

Using a fire ax you will be able to chop down an average tree in just 4-5 hits. In addition, we are talking about one of the most powerful melee weapons in the game, so we recommend using it against the most dangerous monsters and cannibals.
