From all this variety, everyone can find something to their liking or just diversify the gameplay by trying different guns in battle. In this guide, we will focus on how to unlock all the weapons in the game and get the achievement "Gun fanatic".
How to collect all weapons in Resident Evil 4 (2023)
Most of the weapons mentioned in this guide can be purchased from the merchant after passing certain stages of the game, but some copies are hidden somewhere on the map or even come as additional content and require prior unlocking and certain conditions.
A total of 29 weapons count towards the achievement.
Types of expendable weapons
Here we include the ammunition that is taken into account in the achievement for collecting all weapons, but in essence it is consumables and is often found during the game.
Hand grenade
Sometimes it can be collected from fallen enemies, also found in various boxes.
Heavy grenade
It can also be found in game loot, but you can also buy a recipe for making it from a merchant.
Flashbang grenade
Like other grenades, it is found among various in-game loot, its recipe is available in the store.
Attachable Mines
Randomly found among other in-game consumables, the crafting scheme can be bought from a merchant.
Conventional weapons
We have arranged all the weapons in the order in which they are encountered during the passage of the game. You can preview the entire list in advance in order to roughly know the location of all weapons and not accidentally miss anything.
Pistol SG-09R
Available from: Automatically in Chapter 1
A handmade pistol built especially for Leon. Although its components are carefully chosen, you will probably soon find more powerful toys, since this is the starter pistol given to the player when starting a new game.
Combat knife
Available from: Automatically in Chapter 1
Like the previous instance, this knife is the initial one and is issued automatically at the beginning of the first chapter.
Shotgun W-870
Available from: Chapter 1
The shotgun hangs on the second floor of the building north of the village square. A high tower can serve as a guide, and we indicated the exact location in the screenshots below.
Kitchen knife
Available from: Chapter 1
This knife is waiting for you in the barn on the farm. You can get to this zone by going up the stairs on the windmill, which is located nearby.
Crossbow
Available from: Chapter 2
The crossbow becomes available for purchase from the merchant at the beginning of the second chapter. The price is 10,000 coins.
Rifle SR M1903
Available from: Chapter 2
Like the crossbow, this rifle can be purchased from the Chapter 2 shop for 12,000 coins.
Pistol "Punisher"
Available from: Chapter 2
This is a pistol with increased penetration and low recoil. In the second chapter, it can be exchanged in the shop for 5 spinels. This currency rarely drops in game loot, the main way to get it is by doing merchant orders.
Submachine gun TMP
Available from: Chapter 3
A weapon with a high rate of fire, but accuracy leaves much to be desired. Able to become a perfectly acceptable basic SMG, especially with upgrades. You can try it out by laying out 10,000 coins to the merchant in the third chapter.
Rocket launcher
Available from: Chapter 4
If you've already played other games in the series, then the sight of this RPG might make your heart beat a little faster. Starting from Chapter 4, the iconic Disposable Emergency Grenade Launcher can be obtained from the shop for 50,000 coins.
Pistol Red9
Available from: Chapter 4
When you get the chance to go boating in Chapter 4, take a look at the very center of the lake. On the wreckage of a sunken ship in the middle of the lake, you can find Red9. Try to get this weapon and see if it suits your playstyle, because this pistol was considered one of the best in the original, and it seems to be still strong in the remake.
Shotgun Riot Gun
Available from: Chapter 6
The semi-automatic shotgun is a step up from the classic W-870. You can take this step in the merchant's shop starting from the sixth chapter. Of course, you will have to lay out 28,000 coins. This weapon has a very good range/accuracy ratio and we highly recommend trying it out.
Pistol "Blacktail"
Available from: Chapter 7
The stylish Blacktail is sold in Chapter 7 for a hefty 24,000 coins.
Rifle «Stingray»
Available from: Chapter 7
A light and handy semi-automatic rifle "Sting" is waiting for you at the merchant in the seventh chapter. For high accuracy, you will have to pay a price of 30,000 coins. With the ability to fire multiple shots without interrupting the aiming mode, this rifle definitely deserves your attention.
Revolver "Butterfly"
Available from: Chapter 7
The Broken Butterfly is a vintage and powerful revolver, also available for purchase in Chapter 7. Price - 28000 coins.
Boot Knife
Available from: Chapter 7
An ordinary knife adapted to be worn behind the top of a boot. It can be obtained in the seventh chapter by taking it from the body of the monster killed in the chapel.
Revolver "Matilda"
Available from: Chapter 8
Sold in the store of the eighth chapter, but, alas, not for regular currency, but for 10 spinels.
Shotgun "Stryker"
Available from: Chapter 10
This weapon, thanks to its incredible rate of fire and firepower, will allow you to take a fresh look at shotguns. True, you will first have to lay out 38,000 coins for it.
CQBR assault rifle
Available from: Chapter 10
This rifle is hidden in the castle's library. You need to return to the location indicated in the screenshot after you play as Leon again. On the second floor, a cache with a cell for a cube sparkles with gilding. You need to apply a “cubic device” to it and place it in such a way that the grooves in the recess and on the cube coincide.
Pistol "Killer-7"
Obtainable: Chapter 13
You can buy another powerful pistol in chapter 13. The price is high - 77,000 coins.
Submachine gun LE 5
Obtainable: Chapter 13
Another weapon that needs to be picked up at the location, and not just bought. In chapter 13, at some point, you will come across the mechanisms of energy redirection. Switch the power to the left side of the building so that you can go to the freezer - this switch is captured in the screenshots.
Then, when you get to the refrigerator, you will encounter a similar puzzle: you will need to power the five energy sources on the diagram. The correct switch position can also be seen in the image below.
In the opened room, a sparkling LE 5 awaits you right outside the door.
Combat knife
Available from: chapter 14
After the fight with Krauser in chapter 14, you will automatically receive this knife, no further action is required.
Bonus weapons
The following is a list of weapons that have certain requirements to unlock.
Infinite Rocket Launcher
Earnable: After starting New Game+
It differs from a regular rocket launcher in that it has infinite ammunition, but it also costs much more than all the other guns in the store - as much as 2 million coins. Appears at the merchant only after the start of the New Game +.
Primal Knife
Obtained from: Bonus Menu after killing 16 Clockworkers
This knife, when fully upgraded, has infinite durability. To get it, you must first find all factory keepers, and then unlock the dagger in the extra content menu for 1000 points.
Hand cannon
Obtained from: Bonus menu after meeting conditions
A devastatingly powerful revolver, but with fairly strict conditions for obtaining it: you must complete the entire game from scratch in professional mode without using any bonus weapons. The cost in the additional content menu is the same - 1000 points.
Chicago Sweeper
Obtained from: Bonus menu after meeting conditions
Unlocked via the Extra Content menu for 1000 points. Unlock conditions: passing on professional difficulty with an "A" rank (unlike the previous condition, "New Game+" can also be used here).
