In Resident Evil 4 (2023), the Church Key is an essential item needed to advance the story. To get it, you have to find the heads of the blasphemer and the heretic, hidden in the caves on the lake. You can get them by solving puzzles with symbols. In this guide, we will tell you how to solve the riddles, find the statues and get the key.

Riddle with symbols in the Chapel in a small cave
Get on the boat and start sailing to the northeast of the lake. Soon you will see a torch that illuminates the passage to the cave on the right side. Swim into it to reach the Chapel in a small cave. Dock to the pier and enter the small wooden building ahead. Here you will find a pedestal with strange symbols.
To select the correct signs, you will need to carefully inspect this location to find three runes painted in yellow paint on various surfaces. However, if you are too lazy to do this, then you can simply select the symbols shown in the picture below (the sequence of pressing, apparently, is unimportant, but we will indicate our order just in case).
As a result, the door on the right will move down, and you will be able to go into another room. Approach the statue and remove from it blasphemer's head. On the right, by the way, there is a casket in which you can find hexagon piece C.
Riddle with symbols in the Chapel in a large cave
Return to the boat and start sailing south to the Boat Shed. There, swim into a small channel and dock at the pier to the west to get to the Chapel in a large cave. After leaving the pier, turn right into the tunnel, and then almost immediately turn left to the stairs. We add that along the way you will meet signs painted on the walls of the cave with yellow paint. Remember them if you want to solve the puzzle yourself.
Fighting unfriendly locals is optional. Climbing up the wooden stairs, turn left and go forward along the bridge. Then turn left again and go through the tunnel further. Soon you will see a stone slab with symbols near the door - interact with it.
If you were too lazy to memorize the runes in the cave, then just select the symbols shown in the screenshot below. The order of pressing is not important, but we will indicate our sequence just in case. After opening the door on the right, enter the room and take it from the statue heretic's head.
Where to Find the Church Key in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Return to the boat and dock near the pier leading to Cave with a pattern. Run into the passage ahead and to the left. Climb up a little, and then turn right and immediately left. You will find yourself in a room with two pedestal hands, on which you need to place the previously found heads.
By doing this, you will immediately receive the Church Emblem, which is the key to the church gates located in the previous location.
