In Honkai: Star Rail, Mutare Magnus is a series of puzzles and a hidden quest in Lofu Xianzhou. As part of it, you will have to solve riddles with base terminals for three real days, receiving treasure chests as a reward. In this guide, we will tell you how to start this task and solve all the puzzles.
How to Start Mutare Magnus
First of all, you will need to complete the exploration mission called "The Omnipresent Search for the World", where, by the way, you will solve puzzles with terminals for the first time. Then teleport to the Dimensional Anchor "Conference Room" located on the 2nd floor of the Divination Commission.
Climb up the ladder and turn right. There, look for a little girl named Huixing and chat with her. Ask her what she's doing and then agree to help her - this will lead to the start of a hidden quest.
Mutare Magnus I
You will automatically be transferred to the first base terminal. Simply stand on the diamond-shaped platform and press the start button to start the first puzzle. Right now you can solve only three puzzles (the next ones will open tomorrow after the server reset).
After completing the puzzle, you will automatically return to the Meeting Room, where a reward will be waiting for you. Talk to Huixing again to move to another terminal. Recall that to solve the puzzle you need to drag the crystals to get on the ground the same figure as shown on the upper platform.
First base terminal
First take the crystal from the bottom left side of the hexagon and place it in the center left side of the shape as shown in the screenshots below.
Now pick up the crystal in the center of the area and place it on the top left side of the hexagon as shown in the pictures below. After solving the puzzle, you will receive a regular chest.
Second base terminal
First, pick up a crystal from the lower left side of the hexagon and place it in the central right side of the figure, agreeing to change.
Move the replaced crystal to the upper right part of the hexagon and agree to the change again.
Move the second replacement crystal to the empty lower left side of the hexagon and place it there. After solving the puzzle, you will not receive a chest. You can immediately go to the next puzzle.
Third base terminal
First of all, pick up a crystal from the lower left side of the hexagon, and then place it on the same side of the shape, but at the top.
Now take the crystal from the center of the area and place it on the top right side of the hexagon. Thus, you will solve the riddle and get a valuable chest.
Mutare Magnus II
After waiting until the next calendar day, talk to Huixing again and agree to continue adjusting the base terminals. After that, you will immediately move to the first puzzle.
First base terminal
Take the crystal from the top right side of the octagon and swap it with the second top capsule on the left side of the figure.
Place the replacement crystal in place of the capsule located in the upper left part of the octagon.
Place the second replacement crystal in the lower right part of the figure.
Pick up the crystal again on the top left side of the octagon and swap it with the second bottom capsule on the right side of the figure.
Install the third replacement crystal in the lower left part of the figure. As a result, the riddle will be solved, and you will receive a valuable chest.
Second base terminal
Pick up the crystal from the center left side of the hexagon and place it on the same side, but at the very bottom.
Take the crystal from the center of the platform and place it in the vacated place in the central left part of the figure.
Pick up the crystal on the center right side of the hexagon and change it to the capsule on the top left side of the shape.
Place the replaced crystal in the upper right part of the hexagon, again agreeing to the change.
Install the second replacement crystal in the lower right part of the figure. In the end, you will solve the puzzle, but you will not receive a chest for this. You can immediately take on the next puzzle.
Third base terminal
Pick up the second top crystal from the right side of the octagon and place it on the very bottom left side of the shape.
Take the second lower crystal on the right side of the octagon and place it in place of the capsule at the same point, but on the left side of the figure.
Place the replacement crystal in the newly vacated space on the right side of the octagon.
Now pick up the second top crystal from the right side and place it on the very bottom left side of the shape. As a result, you will solve the puzzle and return back, where a luxurious chest will already be waiting for you.
Mutare Magnus III
After waiting until the next calendar day, talk to Huixing again and agree to continue adjusting the base terminals. After that, you will immediately move to the first puzzle.
First base terminal
Take the topmost crystal from the left side of the octagon and place it on the bottom right side of the shape.
Pick up the second upper crystal on the left side of the octagon and place it in place of the second lower capsule on the right side of the figure.
Install the replacement crystal on the empty upper left side of the octagon.
Pick up the second bottom crystal on the left side of the figure and place it in place of the topmost capsule on the left side of the octagon.
Place the replacement crystal at the very bottom left of the figure.
Now take the second top crystal from the right side of the octagon and place it on the second bottom right point of the shape. As a result, you will solve the puzzle and be able to open a valuable chest.
Second base terminal
Take the crystal from the center right side of the hexagon and place it in place of the center capsule on the left side of the figure.
Place the displaced crystal in the lower right part of the hexagon.
Pick up the bottom left hexagon crystal and place it in the center of the area.
Take the top right crystal of the hexagon and place it on the empty bottom left side of the shape. In the end, you will solve the riddle. You will not receive a chest, but you can immediately proceed to the next puzzle.
Third base terminal
Pick up the central crystal on the right side of the hexagon and place it in place of the central capsule on the left side of the figure.
Place the replacement crystal in the upper left part of the hexagon.
Take the crystal from the lower right side of the shape and place it on the same side of the hexagon but on top.
Now pick up the crystal in the center of the area and place it on the lower right side of the figure.
As a result, you will solve the last puzzle of the All-Encompassing Divination, receiving a luxurious chest as a reward.
