Finding tomes in Honkai: Star Rail is hidden quest, in which you have to help the new head of the Alchemy Commission. In this guide, we will tell you how to start this task, and where you can find all the dangerous manuscripts.
How to start a hidden quest
Head to the Alchemy Commission. Near the giant tree you will see a girl named Yuilo. Start a conversation and ask if she needs any books back. She will tell you that three tomes are missing that can harm unprepared readers, and ask you to find them. The head alchemist herself does not know where the lost manuscripts may be, but she will inform you about the effects that each of them has on others.
After the conversation, start searching. Note that the quest will not appear in the mission log, so you will not be able to track the location of the books with the quest marker. The locations where the manuscripts are hidden are listed below.
Where to find all tomes
Libram of Wisdom
Go to Aurumaton Alley. This area is unlocked by completing a quest "The end of the burial, the beginning of the journey". From the Space Street teleporter, head north. To your right, you will see Cloud Knight talking to Deetin. Listen to their conversation. During the dialogue, you can choose any options. After completing it, you will receive the first of the tomes.
Libram of Silence
Next, head to the Alchemy Commission at the Elixir Research Veranda. Following the route below, you will come to the terrace, where you will see Xiao Yu, familiar to you from the assignment "Only the blind will see the truth, only heaven will punish sinners". After a short conversation, the girl will give you the desired manuscript.
Manuscript of Madness
You will find this book in the Commission on Predictions. From the Fortune Divination Platform, head north. Once you complete the stairs, you will see a restless woman and an unconscious man on the left. Approach them to find out what happened.
When the couple goes to the hospital, she will leave a tome on the ground. You can immediately remove the "Manuscript of Madness" in your inventory, or test its effect on yourself. After some clouding of consciousness, you will still find the manuscript in the backpack.
How to return the found tomes
Yuilo will be waiting for you at the same place. Say that you have come to give a dangerous tome, and then return the first manuscript to her. Repeat this action twice.
This completes the quest and gives you 20 arrows, praise of high morality and materials to level up characters and weapons.
