In Genshin Impact Harmonious Reed Pipe is one of the types Fontaine's puzzles solving which allows you to receive valuable rewards in the form of chests of varying rarities. You can find similar riddles in the Erinyes and Morta forests. In this guide you will learn where to find these puzzles and what exactly needs to be done to solve them.
How to solve puzzles with Harmonious Reed Pipe
We are talking about unique musical instruments, which require waves to play, which arise when dew bubbles burst. At the same time, a different number of runes hangs above these pipes, indicating in what sequence they need to be activated to solve the puzzle.
To see exactly what order you need to play the pipes in, we advise you to interact with the loudspeaker-like device located not far from the riddle. Then simply place the bubbles in the right places and blow them up so that the instruments sound in the required sequence.
If you find several reed pipes with the same number of runes at once, then they should be activated simultaneously, that is, place a bubble so that during the detonation the wave hits two mechanisms at the same time.
Let's add that to move the bubbles you need to use the ability of the xenochrome spherical octopus. On land, it can be obtained from a special mechanism with a blue sphere (it is shown in the picture below).
Where to find all the reed pipe riddles
In Fontaine you can find 14 puzzles with these musical instruments. You don't need special characters to solve them, but in some places you will have to fight dangerous monsters, so we recommend taking a well-trained team in advance.
The map above shows the approximate location of all the puzzles. Next, we will look at completing each of them in detail and indicate the rewards given out.

Reed pipes 1
- Location: Marcotte Station
Teleport to the Hydro Archon statue located near the indicated area, and then jump down to the pond in the northeast. You can interact with the loudspeaker to see the order in which the pipes are activated, or you can immediately run to the bubble and hit it (no need to move anything).
The wave will activate the pipes in the required sequence, after which you will receive a rich chest. Be careful, as there are three vishaps of the depths walking nearby - we advise you to deal with them first or try not to hit them with your attacks (then they will ignore you).
Reed pipes 2
- Location: Lake Urania
From the previous riddle, follow the river to the north and not far from the lake you will find the necessary devices. Take the octopus skill and then move the bubbles closer to the pipes. Blow them up in the order shown in the screenshot below. Eventually you will unlock a rich chest.
Reed pipes 3
- Location: Weeping willow by the lake
Travel to the teleporter west of the lake, then climb up the mountainside to the south. Here you will find 2 pipes mounted on rocks. In this case, the bubble will appear on a branch that is even higher. From time to time this sphere will fall to the ground.
You need to take any archer (the free Amber will do) and then go into aim mode and hit the bubble when it flies right next to the musical instruments, as shown in the picture below. As a reward, you will receive a rich chest that appears nearby.
Reed pipes 4
- Location: Foggy Forest Path
Travel to the teleporter east of the Lucine Fountain, then run along the path to the southeast. At the foot of the mountain you will find another riddle.
Take the character's Anemo and use it to activate the Anemo Totem standing slightly ahead to create an air flow. A dew bubble will appear, which will fly towards the wind, and then begin to slowly rise upward. Take the archer, go into aiming mode and shoot the ball when it hangs right next to the pipes. The wave will activate both tools and you will receive a precious chest.
Reed pipes 5
- Location: Foggy Forest Path
Travel to the teleporter near the shore in the indicated area, and then run to the sandy beach in the southeast. Here you will find the necessary devices.
Take the octopus ability from the mechanism and then arrange the bubbles as shown in the screenshot below and explode them in the order shown. As a result, you will receive a rich chest.
Reed pipes 6
- Location: Lumidos Port (north)
Travel to the teleporter north of the port and then continue north. On a small island near the coast you will find a new puzzle. There may be hilichurls nearby - we advise you to deal with them so that they do not get in the way under your feet later.
Take the octopus skill from the blue ball, and then arrange the bubbles as shown in the picture below and explode them in the indicated sequence. As a reward you will receive a precious chest.
Reed pipes 7
- Location: Eastern slope of Mon Atoneki
Teleport to the northern teleporter of the indicated area, and then glide to the shore just south. There you will find a puzzle.
Take the octopus skill from the mechanism, and then place two bubbles located a little further from the pipes in the places shown in the picture below. Next, blow up the dew bubble standing near the pipe with one rune. The wave will begin to slowly move from one bubble to another, gradually activating all devices.
Reed pipes 8
- Location: Ipsissimus Tower
Travel to the underwater teleporter in the southern part of Mort, then swim north to find the stone bridge west of the tower. On it you will find a locked chest and devices.
Take the ability from the xenochrome octopus, and then swim to the rotary valve behind the chest and use the skill on the Elemental Reaction: Crystallize to lower the column With You with the pipe, as shown in the screenshot below. Next, just pop the bubble.
Reed pipes 9
- Location: Ipsissimus Tower
She can be found at the top of the tower. If you have already completed the quest chain “In the Footsteps of Narcissus” and flooded the building, then simply swim to the upper level of the building.
If the tower is still standing on land, then go to its south side and use the water ring to climb to the roof. Then jump down to the floor below where the pipes and bubble are.
Take the octopus ability from the mechanism on the right, and then use the ring of water on the left to rise a little higher (if you are not underwater). Here, find the second bubble and throw it down from the gears. Next, connect it with the first bubble to create one huge ball, and explode it. As a reward you will receive a rich chest.
Reed pipes 10
- Location: Ipsissimus Tower
Move to the surface teleporter near the tower, then dive and swim north a little. Near the ruins you will find another riddle with reed pipes.
Take the skill from the xenochrome octopus, and then drop the bottom bubble on the wall even lower so that it covers the one and two rune pipes, as demonstrated in the picture below. Next, blow it up, swim up and hit the second bubble. As a reward you will be given a rich chest.
Reed pipes 11
- Location: Weeping willow by the lake
It is highly likely that you will have to solve this puzzle during the mission "Wilting Weeping Willow", however, you can do this earlier to get a rich chest. It is located at the bottom of the lake where the willow tree grows.
Having sunk to the bottom, find a razorback floating nearby and take away its ability by targeting it with a charged normal attack.
You will need his skill to free the trapped octopus. It is located directly above the altar. Aim with the razor blade skill and release when the weak points of the vines are located at the same level to cut them all at once.
When the octopus is free, take the skill from him. After this, swim to two clots of mud located at the bottom a little away from the altar. You will need to clear them with a held skill, as you did in the previous step.
As a result, a bubble will appear in place of the mucus. Use the octopus's skill again to move it closer to the altar. You need to position the sphere so that it is closer to the pipes with one symbol, and further away from the instrument with two symbols. This way, when you pop the balloon, the shock wave will produce the sound in the correct order. In the image below you can see an example version.
