Dr. Ratio in Honkai Star Rail: guide to the best builds

    Zorthrus

In Honkai: Star Rail Dr. Ratio is 5 star character, which has an Imaginary combat type and belongs to the Hunting path. In a team, he can play the role of the main damage dealer, causing huge damage with bonus attacks. In this guide we will tell you about his best builds, light cones And relics. You will also learn about recommended units with him.

Note: The Erudite Guild Member has not yet officially released, so the data presented here is based on information obtained as part of beta testing. If necessary, we will update the guide when the hero appears in the game.

    Key Features of Dr. Ratio

    How to get Dr. Ratio

This researcher can only be obtained during the event Jump. This banner will be launched in the near future as part of the second phase of patch 1.6. If you want to be one of the first to know about his next rerun, we advise you to bookmark this article.

Let's add that HoYoverse has never given 5-star characters for completing various events, so you can only unlock Dr. Ratio with the help of Jumping.

Note: Quite unexpectedly, the company decided to give this character to players during update 1.6, thereby thanking fans for their support in a number of votes for the title of “best mobile game.”

    Dr. Ratio's stat progression

In the table below you can see how a character's basic parameters change as his level increases.

Level Attack Power Protection HP Speed
    1 106 63 143 103
    20 206 122 278 103
    40 396 235 535 103
    60 586 348 791 103
    80 776 461 1048 103

Note that its critical damage, critical hit chance and taunt are 50%, 5% and 75 units respectively at any level, and its energy reserve is 140 units.

Advantages and disadvantages of Dr. Ratio

Thanks to his unique abilities, Dr. Ratio can quickly deal with strong single opponents. Its advantages also include:

    • It has one of the highest base attack rates in the game, which has a positive effect on the character’s damage, since all attack abilities depend on this parameter, and simplifies its assembly.
    • Can independently increase its critical damage and chance of delivering critical hits with the help of debuffs, which reduces the need for Harmony characters in the squad.
    • Traces increases the chance of critical hits and attack power, which again makes it easier to select characteristics when choosing relics.
    • Deals enormous damage with bonus attacks against a single target, ideally suited for battles against single bosses.
    • Pairs perfectly with characters that enhance bonus attacks and apply debuffs to enemies - both the former and the latter can significantly increase the damage of Dr. Ratio, both directly and through his traces.
    • He is able to apply one debuff to enemies himself, giving himself the necessary increases to attack characteristics and increasing the likelihood of performing a bonus attack. This weakening, by the way, reduces the enemy's effect resistance, making it easier to impose additional negative statuses on it.
    • Even without eidolons, it fulfills its main role well, which will certainly appeal to F2P players.

However, there are some downsides, some of which follow directly from its advantages:

    • To fully unleash Dr. Ratio's abilities, you must have debuffers in your team who can inflict three or more debuffs on the enemy in one cycle. This significantly limits players' options for customizing their squad.
    • He has a relatively high consumption of skill points, since he must use the skill every turn to inflict the maximum possible damage, because the skill is one of the methods for activating bonus attacks.
    • The skill is not guaranteed to trigger a bonus attack - to get 100% proc, the enemy must have at least 3 debuffs during Doctor Ratio's turn, which can be difficult even with good debuffers on the team.
    • A very expensive ult (140 units), which again deals the main damage not with a direct hit to the target, but with the help of subsequent bonus attacks. To use your superpower frequently, you will have to pay a lot of attention to pumping up energy recovery.
    • Unimpressive eidolons that provide fewer benefits than we would like.

    Doctor Ratio's abilities

When using a basic attack "Knowledge is power" it inflicts imaginary damage to the enemy in the amount of 50~130% of his attack power. At the same time, it restores 20 units of energy and penetrates 30 units of durability.

Explanation: Standard, unremarkable attacks. Unless, thanks to their high base ATK, they will deal more damage than other Hunt characters. True, you will not use them often, since the main source of damage is bonus attacks caused by the skill and ult.

After using the skill "Intellectual assistance" it inflicts imaginary damage to the selected enemy in the amount of 75-187.5% of the hero’s attack power. At the same time, it restores 30 units of energy and penetrates 60 units of durability.

Explanation: The skill itself deals little damage to enemies (for comparison, Zele at skill level 10 deals 220% of the damage of his attack power and also increases speed), but thanks to the talent, he can cause an extremely powerful bonus attack on the target. The combined damage will amount to a fabulous 420% at level 10 talent and skill. But to guarantee the delivery of bonus attacks you will have to put a lot of effort into it (more on that below).

Using a superpower "Syllogistic Paradox", it inflicts imaginary damage to the selected enemy in the amount of 144-288% of the hero’s attack power, penetrates 90 points of durability and imposes the Shortsightedness of the Sages status on him. When an ally attacks an enemy with this effect, Dr. Ratio performs a bonus attack on him.

This status can be activated up to two times, and it only works on the last target of the character’s ult. Repeated use of a superpower resets the number of available activations.

Explanation: As in the case of the skill, the superpower itself deals very little damage (for comparison, Zele at the 10th level of the ult deals 425% damage), however, even with one bonus attack, the damage already increases to 510%, and with two – up to 780% (when leveling up to level 10). True, the damage will be spread out a little over time.

Bonus attacks will be guaranteed to be performed by the hero. But the cost of Dr. Ratio’s ult is quite high, which is why in order to use it frequently you will have to greatly increase your VE and/or take on a support team who can “fill in” energy. So we advise you to still focus on the skill.

As for the heroine’s passive talent - "I think, therefore I am", then when using a skill, with a 40% probability he causes a bonus attack, inflicting imaginary damage to the previously selected target in the amount of 135-337.5% of the hero’s attack power. For each debuff an enemy has, the chance of triggering a bonus attack increases by 20%.

If the enemy dies before performing a bonus attack, it is redirected to a random enemy. Let's add that the talent restores 5 units of energy and penetrates 30 units of durability.

Explanation: Dr. Ratio's main source of damage, which, however, requires at least 3 debuffs to be guaranteed to work. Fortunately, thanks to the “Inference” trail, the hero can himself apply one debuff to the enemy when using a skill, so it’s enough to collect two more. In this case, you cannot do without debuffers.

It is also impossible not to mention the technology "Idol Statues", the use of which results in the creation of a stone statue for 10 seconds, which attracts nearby enemies. There is a special space around this figure. If you start a fight with an enemy located in this zone, then with a 100% probability you will reduce the speed of each mob by 15% for two turns. Only one such field can exist at a time, summoned by allies.

    Traces of Doctor Ratio

In addition to the above abilities, the hero leveling tree also includes other enhancements that provide passive bonuses or permanent increases to characteristics. They mainly increase attack power, critical hit chance, and character defense. You can see them all in the pictures below.

    Doctor Ratio's Eidolons

To unlock them, you need materials of the same name, issued when duplicates of the hero appear, which, of course, is random. And considering the rarity of 5-star character drops, be prepared to spend a lot of money and time on this. Fortunately, even without eidolons, Dr. Ratio can easily serve as the main damage dealer in the squad.

If you plan to knock out only E1, then we advise you to better spend these resources on getting the hero’s signature weapon, since it will be much more useful. For example, the first eidolon simply increases Generalization limits, allowing effects to stack up to 10 times, but again, you will first need to gain these 10 debuffs, and the signature will immediately give you 20% crit. damage and another 24% for just 3 debuffs. Plus, it will increase overall damage and allow you to ignore enemy defenses.

If you already have a signature, then you can stop at the second eidolon, which will slightly increase the damage from bonus attacks. The entire list of eidolons is presented below:

    1. Pride comes before the fall - increases the maximum number of Generalization levels by four. At the beginning of the battle, the hero immediately receives 4 stacks.
    2. The divine is in the details - when the talent’s bonus attack hits a target, it deals additional imaginary damage in the amount of 20% of the hero’s ATK for each weakening present on the enemy. This effect stacks up to four times for each bonus attack.
    3. Know yourself - the level of the ult increases by two, and the level of the basic attack - by one. The maximum level for the first increases to 15, and for the second – to 10. Slightly increases overall damage.
    4. Ignorance is a vice – when the talent is activated, the hero additionally restores 15 units of energy.
    5. This is how they go to the stars - the level of skill and talent increases by two. The maximum level for both increases to 15.
    6. Increases overall damage well. Truth conquers all – increases the number of levels of Sage's Shortsightedness by one. Bonus attack damage increases by 50%.

How to play as Dr. Ratio

After reading all the above information, many probably came to the conclusion that this hero urgently needs characters from the path of Nothingness, and at least two of them, in order to constantly impose debuffs on enemies. This really makes sense and, if desired, you can turn Dr. Ratio into a hypercarry, for whom debuffers will help gain damage.

However, you can very well combine this explorer with another damage dealer. The thing is that there are also elemental debuffs (Bleeding, Burning, Shock, etc.) that are usually associated with breaking through vulnerability, since with a 150% probability they are applied precisely when resistance is destroyed. However, there are characters who can inflict such negative effects using their abilities.

These fighters can belong not only to the path of Nothingness, but also of Destruction, Preservation, Erudition, Harmony and Hunting. So your pool of characters to use with Dr. Ratio isn't as small as you might initially think. Plus, you can try using it with Ruan Mei, which significantly speeds up the penetration of enemies’ vulnerabilities, and, therefore, allows you to apply elemental weakenings to them more often.

As for the tactics of using Dr. Ratio, it lies in imposing at least three debuffs on the enemy before using the skill. Only in this case will the bonus attack be delivered with 100% probability. Plus, you will increase your crits and overall damage. One weakening is imposed by the hero himself. The other two can be obtained from one debuffer if you equip it with the right light cone (weapons can also apply debuffs).

Thus, this erudite should walk after the characters who impose negative statuses, so that his speed should not be too high. The optimal rotation with him would look like this:

    1. It is advisable to use Dr. Ratio's technique before the start of the battle to slow down enemies by two turns, preventing them from moving before your characters. Plus, they will receive the first debuff.
    2. With other damage dealers and debuffers, apply as many negative statuses as possible to the strongest enemy.
    3. When it's Dr. Ratio's turn, use his skill to ensure you hit the target with a bonus attack and cause massive damage.
    4. Continue to use the Erudite skill each time to deal the bulk of the damage with bonus attacks. Activate his ult when ready.

    Best builds for Dr. Ratio

    Best Light Cones

When choosing weapons, you should pay attention to those options that increase attack power, critical damage, chance of critical hits and/or damage from bonus attacks. The table below shows the most interesting specimens.

    Name Characteristics Ability

Baptism of pure thought (5 stars)

    HP: 43-953

    Attack Power: 26-582

    Defense: 24-529

Increases critical damage by 20-32%. Increases critical damage dealt to an enemy by an additional 8-12% for each Debuff present on the enemy. The bonus can be stacked up to three times. When using an ult to attack a target, the Discussion status is applied, increasing damage dealt by 36-60% and allowing the bonus attack to ignore 24-40% of the enemy's defense. The effect lasts two turns. Dr. Ratio's signature weapon, which enhances all of his positive aspects. Again, for maximum weapon deployment, three weakenings are required on the enemy.

    Anxiety and Bliss (5 stars)

    HP: 48-1058

    Attack Power: 26-582

    Defense: 21-463

Increases the chance of inflicting crit. hit by 18-30%, and damage from a bonus attack by 30-50%. The Taming effect is applied to the enemy after being hit by a bonus hit. It can be stacked up to two times. Each level increases critical damage against it by 12-20%. If you wish, you can remove it from Topaz and give it to Ratio, since it not only increases crits and damage from bonus attacks, but also imposes a debuff. As a result, the character will be able to independently apply two debuffs to enemies at once.

    Dead's Dream (5 stars)

    HP: 48~1058

    Attack Power: 26~582

    Defense: 21~463

Increases critical damage by 30-50%. If the basic hit or skill does not cause critical damage, then the chance of inflicting a critical hit. attack increases by 36-60% for one turn. The bonus is triggered once every three turns. Makes it possible to significantly increase crit. chance, paying less attention to it in relics. Plus, Dr. Ratio's overall damage will increase, because bonus attacks can also crit. So, in the absence of Yanqin, you can give this cone to him.

    Galaxy Cruise (5 stars)

    HP: 43~952

    Attack Power: 24~529

    Defense: 21~463

Increases the chance of landing a critical hit by 8-16%. Gives an additional 8-16% to crit. chance when fighting enemies whose health is equal to or below 50%. After defeating an enemy, the wearer's attack power increases by 20-40% for 2 turns. Its main advantage is that it is free, since you can buy it in Gerta's store while going through worlds Virtual universe. With it, bonus attacks will crit noticeably more often, causing huge damage. Increasing attack power will increase the damage from all abilities and bonus attacks of the character.

    Fencing (4 stars)

    HP: 43~952

    Attack Power: 21~476

    Defense: 15~330

When attacking one enemy several times, the damage for each subsequent hit increases by 8-16% and can be cumulative up to five times. Slightly behind in damage from the previous cone with the 5th overlay. So if you gave Galaxy Cruise, for example, to Zela, then you can safely give Fencing to Dr. Ratio. In the end, everyone will be happy.

All that remains is silence (4 stars)

    HP: 43~952

    Attack Power: 21~476

    Defense: 15~330

Increases attack power by 16-32%. If there are 2 or fewer enemies on the battlefield, the chance of landing a critical hit increases by 12-24%. Ideal for fighting single bosses. Increases Dr. Ratio's attack power, and therefore the damage from bonus attacks, and also gives him the critical hits he needs. True, the second part of the passive only works in certain situations, so you can hold on to this weapon when you need to quickly deal with a strong single enemy who is not able to summon assistants.

    Arrows (3 stars)

    HP: 38~846

    Attack Power: 14~317

    Protection: 12~264

Increases your critical strike chance by 12-24% for three turns. A good starting cone that will allow bonus attacks to crit more often in the first minutes of the battle.

    The best relics

At this point in time, the most optimal full set for Dr. Ratio is "Desert Bandit Thug", 2 parts of which increase imaginary damage by 10%, and 4 parts increase critical chance by 10% when the wearer attacks an enemy with weakening. If damage is dealt to an enemy with Imprisonment, critical damage increases by 20%. To fully unlock the potential of this kit, it is advisable to add Velt to the squad, who is capable of imprisoning enemies with his ult.

Considering the presence of additional conditions for the previous set, we advise you to collect two incomplete sets for now:

    • Burning Duke - 2 parts: Increases damage from bonus attacks by 20%.
    • Desert Bandit Thug – 2 pieces: Increases apparent damage by 10%.

In addition, using two sets will simplify your selection of characteristics. Now let's move on to planar jewelry, which is mined in the Virtual Universe. The list below shows the recommended options (the numbers indicate the priority of choice):

Planar decoration Bonuses Reasons for choice

    1) Frozen Salsotto

2 pieces: Increases critical strike chance by 8%. If this parameter exceeds 50%, then the damage from the ult and bonus attack will increase by 15%. The best option for Dr. Ratio, which can significantly increase his overall damage. Score 50% in crit. It may be difficult, but quite possible.

    2) Space sealing station

2 parts: increases ATK by 12%. Gives another 12% to this parameter if the character’s speed is equal to or exceeds 120 units. A good alternative to the previous artifact, if it has more suitable characteristics. Although speed is not very important for Dr. Walkie-Talkie, given that he must walk after his allies, it is still possible to gain 120 units.

    3) Celestial differentiator

2 pieces: Increases critical damage by 16%. If the wearer's critical damage is equal to or greater than 120%, then at the beginning of the battle his critical chance increases by 60% until the end of his first hit. Another good option for the hero, increasing his crits. True, you will most likely have to take a bib for crit. damage to get the required value to activate the passive.

Concerning characteristics of relics, then you need to choose as follows:

    • Body: Critical Damage or Critical Chance (choose according to situation)
    • Legs: attack power
    • Planar Sphere: Imaginary Damage
    • Connecting rope: attack power% or energy recovery (if you suddenly want to ult more often)
    • Additional characteristics: critical damage > critical hit chance > attack power % > energy recovery.

The best commands for Dr. Ratio

Naturally, the best partners for Dr. Ratio will be characters from the path of Nothingness, capable of applying several debuffs at a time, for example, Silver Wolf, but heroes of other classes that apply elemental weakening, for example, Serval, Hook, Jingliu, Yanqing and many others, are also suitable.

Fighters that enhance bonus attacks will also be useful. True, at the moment there is only one such character in the game - Topaz and the Accountant. By the way, she can also apply debuffs with her skill and signature cone. You can also try to assemble a team with Ruan Mei to speed up breaking through vulnerabilities and impose elemental debuffs on enemies.

Of course, it’s worth taking a good shield warrior and/or healer into your team, since Dr. Ratio cannot boast of high survivability. By the way, Cheetah and March 7 are good options, as they can freeze enemies with their abilities. The table below shows the most optimal commands.

    Upgrading Doctor Ratio

How to increase abilities (what to download first)

The pictures below demonstrate the materials and their quantities required to maximize the basic attack, skill, superpower and talent.

    • Hunter, Demon Slayer, and Starhunter arrows are obtained from the "Bud of the Hunt" sepal located in the Suburban Snowfields, or through Synthesis.
    • Thief's Instinct, Twisted Ambition, and Conqueror's Will are dropped from the Antimatter Legion, as well as from quests and enemies in the Virtual Universe. They can be purchased for unquenchable ash or created using Synthesis.
    • Past Wormhole Disasters - Obtained by fighting the boss King of the Starfall Swarm: Skarakabaz.
    • Imprints of Fate - obtained in the Virtual Universe, issued with a battle pass and purchased for unquenchable ashes in the Pom-Pom store. Sometimes they are a reward in temporary events.

Concerning priority for leveling up abilities, then we advise you to focus on talent, since the damage of bonus attacks will depend on it. Then you can increase your skill and ult (they may lag behind the first by 1-2 levels). Pump up basic strikes according to the residual principle.

How to level up a character

At certain levels you will need to elevate the hero by spending a large amount of resources and credits:

    • Ascension (level 30): credits x4000 and thief's instinct x5
    • Ascension (level 40): credits x8000 and thief's instinct x10
    • Ascension (level 50): credits x16000, distorted ambition x6 and pacifying talisman x3
    • Ascension (level 60): credits x40000, distorted ambition x9 and pacifying talisman x7
    • Exaltation (level 70): credits x80000, will of the conqueror x6 and pacifying talisman x20
    • Exaltation (level 80): credits x160000, will of the conqueror x9 and pacifying talisman x35

The Calming Talisman can be obtained from the Stagnant Shadow located in the Crafts Commission (Lofu Xianzhou).
