In Honkai: Star Rail Pure Fiction is a periodically updated challenge in which players must complete various combat levels and score points to receive valuable rewards, including star jades, credits, and upgrade materials. It is a kind of alternative "The Hall of Oblivion", with which it will alternate every two weeks.
In this guide you will learn how to open “Pure Fiction” and go through all its levels (nodes). We will talk about the main mechanics of this game mode, as well as indicate recommended commands and tactics for fighting bosses.
How to open "Pure Fiction"
Before you can take on the levels of this test, you have to fulfill a number of conditions, namely:
- Reach at least 34th Mastery level.
- Get at least 3rd level of balance.
- Complete the Mastery mission entitled "Immortality Shall Be Ashes, Calamity Ends" as part of the quest chain "Tower of Hyperion".
Having dealt with these requirements, wait for a certain message to arrive on your in-game smartphone from Mr. Xiyan, which will lead to the launch of a small side quest called “Yutsa’s Masterful Embellishment”, the completion of which opens access to the new mode.
Masterful embellishment of Yutsa
Warp to the Court of Tranquility anchor located in the Exalted Sanctum and head northeast to the quest marker. There, interact with a cage covered with fabric floating above the ground.
The Yutsy bird will talk to you and want to tell you a story. Agree to listen to her. After this, the first test starts. Please read the instructions carefully or read the recommendations we provide below.
Pure Fiction Challenge Tips and Basics
Pure fiction features combat challenges that are updated periodically and increase in difficulty. During it you need to clear different levels and score points. By fulfilling special requirements at some stages, you can receive additional rewards.
Basic rules
As is the case with other types of similar activities, as part of completing the levels of “Pure Fiction” you will not be able to use some functions, namely:
- Change heroes on the team.
- Increase the levels of relics and light cones, and change equipment.
- Use consumables from inventory.
- Promote or elevate characters.
Gains
Each level has its own buffs, called the Absurdity effects. You can't choose them, so you have to adapt to them.
There are also power-ups - Cacophonies - that Pathfinders will be able to choose on their own, giving themselves additional buffs. Some of them may well turn the tide of the entire battle, so their choice should be taken as responsibly as possible.
Nodes
Each level consists of two battles: Node 1 and Node 2, so you will need to prepare two squads. During them you will have to fight constantly emerging enemies for a limited number of cycles. You will receive points for causing damage or destroying opponents.
At the end, the points scored for both battles are taken into account. You will receive stars according to the points you earn. By unlocking a certain number of Stars during the current period, you will receive a variety of rewards, including 720 Star Jades.

The screenshots below show basic information about the current challenge. You will learn how many points you need to get to give out the maximum reward, what effect of the Ridiculousness is active at the level, and what power-up you can choose for Cacaphony.
You can also see the enemies you will have to fight in the first and second halves of this challenge, that is, you will need to prepare two teams at once to fight the monsters. If you have difficulty selecting characters, then study the recommendations presented below.

Most of the enemies in the first half are vulnerable to electric and imaginary damage, so try to take heroes of the corresponding elements. Characters that deal high area damage are perfect for this test, since weak ordinary opponents always appear with each new wave.
If your damage dealers clear each new wave without any problems, then you don’t have to take a healer with you. Instead, you can take a second damage dealer. Only buffers and debuffers can be used as support characters.

Most enemies in the second half are vulnerable to ice and wind types of damage, so try to take heroes of the corresponding elements. Jingliu and Blade are great for this challenge due to their ability to unleash powerful area of effect attacks. Again, you don’t have to take a healer on your team if your damage dealers destroy all waves without any problems.
At the same time, you should definitely take the characters of Nothingness and Harmony into your team in order to buff your damage dealers and weaken your enemies.
Optimal characters
In addition to the heroes listed above, you can use other fighters in each of the two halves. They are shown in the picture below.
Best power-ups
There are no best bonuses as such at this stage, since they should be selected according to the teams. For example, if your damage dealers can use their ultimate frequently, then take Eruption, and if their ultimate deals huge damage, then choose Cleave.

First half
Spider Automatons can use a Timer and then explode next to your characters on the next turn, dealing massive damage to them. For this reason, we advise you to kill them as quickly as possible. Plus, when destroyed, they self-destruct, causing damage to their allies.
You should also concentrate all your attention on piggy banks as soon as they appear on the battlefield, since killing them gives quite a lot of points.
Second half
The main danger in this challenge is the Mighty Primate, who can use his Wrathful Roar to tag any character using the skill and then attack them, causing massive damage. Flimsy heroes of Hunt or Harmony can easily glue their flippers together after such a blow. For this reason, try to protect them with a shield first or quickly break through the enemy's resistance.
If this cannot be done, then it is better to skip using the skill with vulnerable heroes and use the skills with a shield warrior or another “thick-skinned” character who can withstand the blow of a primate.
Let us add that it is best to kill the Golden Hound as a last resort, since after death it advances the action of the allies forward. You can also try to destroy all enemies at once using powerful AoE attacks.

Jingliu and Himeko are great for this challenge due to their ability to deliver powerful area of effect attacks and bonus attacks. First half
Shadows of Everwinter can delay the action of your characters with their attacks, so try to deal with them first. You can try to destroy them all at once, since they are considered relatively weak enemies.
Fire from Space can use Burning Absorption, which puts him in a special state. On his next turn, he will use Cleansing Flame Rain, a powerful area-of-effect attack. To prevent this, quickly break through his vulnerability.
Second half
The Stormcloak can use Wind Crossbow, which allows him to target targets with the Weathering status. On his next turn, he will use Unexpected Storm to deal massive damage to targeted characters.
If you want to avoid this, then quickly remove the Weathering debuff from your fighters by using the skills of your shielders/healers. In this case, the Stormcloak simply will not be able to make its attack.

Most enemies in the first half are vulnerable to physical and electrical damage types, so try to take heroes of the corresponding elements. We also recommend taking a support who can remove debuffs, since the Ascendant and Glowing Dragonfish will constantly apply debuffs to your heroes.

Most of the enemies in the second half are vulnerable to Ice and Fire damage types, so try to take heroes of the corresponding elements. If you have Jingliu in your group, we recommend taking a shieldman instead of a healer, since the Team Leader is capable of inflicting huge damage at once - you simply will not have time to heal your characters.

How to pass Yutsa's Winged Words III

Concentrate all your attacks on the dragonfish first, as they not only explode, damaging their allies, but are also likely to apply debuffs to them, lowering their defense. Once you've dealt with them, focus on killing the Ascended One.
Also try to kill all piggy banks that appear on the battlefield before they run away. Let us remind you that they give a high reward.
Second half
In the 1st and 3rd waves, try to destroy the regular employees first, since the Group Leader can grab performance points from them, greatly strengthening himself. If you manage to break through their vulnerabilities or even kill them, then your characters will take these points, receiving good bonuses.

Most of the enemies in the second half are vulnerable to electrical and fire types of damage, so try to take heroes of the corresponding elements. You can also take the wind damage dealer as an alternative since you will be fighting a lot of spider automatons.
Note that it is quite possible to complete the fourth stage without using a shield/healer in your team, if your squad mainly consists of damage dealers capable of dealing area damage. The picture below shows the corresponding packs.
Of course, your heroes should be equipped with the best light cones and the right relics, as well as have pumped up tracks if you want to get through the fourth stage without a single healing or protecting support.
Optimal characters
In addition to the heroes listed above, you can use other fighters in each of the two halves. They are presented in the picture below.

How to complete Winged Words of Yutsa IV
First half
When fighting the Silvermane Guardians, first try to eliminate the Gunners, Gunners, and Automaton Hounds, as they can buff each other. In particular, hounds can heal allies, which can significantly slow down your progress through the first wave.
In the second wave, try to kill all piggy banks that appear on the battlefield before they run away. Let us remind you that they give a high reward.
In the third wave, if your goal is simply to earn 30,000 points, then you may not waste your time killing the Cheetah, since he is very durable. Instead, quickly destroy all ordinary mobs.
Second half
At this point, focus your attacks on destroying the spider automatons so they will deal fire damage to nearby allies when they die. This way you will be able to kill several enemies at once.
On the third wave, you will have to fight Svarog, but again, to gain 30,000 points, it is not at all necessary to kill him, so you can concentrate all your efforts on killing ordinary opponents, for example, the same spiders. After death, they will also deal damage to the boss.
However, remember that Svarog can summon a manipulator that can imprison one of your characters in a cage, so when it appears, try to break through its vulnerability as quickly as possible or completely destroy it.
Shop "Priceless Values"
Chat with Yutsy (bird cage) and then select the "Enter Priceless Treasures" line to unlock the store. Here, like in the Hall of Oblivion, you will be able to purchase various 4-star light cones by spending Radiant Reflection. However, with the release of Pure Fiction, a new currency has appeared - Jade Feathers, which you can spend in another section of the store.
Open the “Jokes Come True” tab. Here you can exchange feathers for lost crystals, credits, traveler's guides, purified ether, relic fragments and self-modeling resin. Please note that the range of products is regularly updated.
Thus, as you progress through stories, you will not only receive one-time rewards, but you will also be able to then exchange feathers and reflections for upgrade materials and weapons.
