In this guide, we will tell you what types of chests there are, how to open them, and what you can find in them, and we will also show you the best routes for farming these precious caskets.

General information on chests in Palworld

What types of chests are there in Palworld?

There are four types of chests in the game: regular, bronze, silver and gold. The first ones are most common and they are not locked.

How to open chests

Locked chests are the most valuable, containing the rarest items. They are much less common than ordinary ones.

In order to gain access to the rewards inside, you will have to acquire special keys - gold, silver and bronze.

Each item has its own area where it can be used. Below on map we highlighted the areas and indicated which specific key would be required for the chests in this location.

Once you have opened a treasure chest, it will update after a certain period of time (approximately 4 hours), after which you can return to this place again. However, the type of chest that appears again will be random.

What can be found in chests

In addition to gold, sapphires and all types of Pal-Spheres, chests can contain rare schematics.

In golden chests in the Winter biome you can find:

Where to find chests in Palworld

In dungeons, after fighting the boss, who usually lives at the end of the cave, you can also find rare chests. And since it’s quite easy to defeat these enemies, collecting chests in these places is very convenient.

Depending on the level of the dungeon, the rewards at the end will be different. At high level chests contain the best drop, for example, two valuable items or schematics at once.

To find these dungeons, players need to travel north to the snowy mountain region and look for dungeon entrances marked by blue ice crystals and white trees.

Additionally, chests can be found in wildlife sanctuaries.

These are the three best places in the game for farming, as the chests in these locations are not locked. At the same time, they store the same valuable items as rare ones. Another plus is that they are relatively easy to reach, especially with the fast flying Pal.
