In Genshin Impact the secret island is a special location that is not displayed on the map and is located at a great distance from the main continent. On it you can not only find a lot of valuable items, but also go through the original quest chain called "Time and Wind".
In this guide, we will show you how to get to this secret island, indicate what treasures can be found on it, and tell you about completing all the tasks on it. We note in advance that you should visit this location only after your squad reaches at least level 40.
How to get to the secret island in Genshin Impact
The secret island itself is actually very easy to find if you know where to look for it - it is located in the sea in the northeast corner of the map. The screenshot below shows its exact location. However, getting there will be a little more difficult.
At the moment, there are two main ways to get to this nameless island:
For the first method, you will need a hovering character and a lot of stamina. We also advise you to take Amber to the squad, which has a passive skill "Champion of Flight" (reduces the stamina consumption of all party members while flying by 20%). So, having taken the right hero, head to Starcatcher's Rock and jump straight towards the island. You can also eat some stamina food before jumping. Soon you will reach the island.
For the second method, you will need a character that can freeze the surface. A good option could be Kaeya, which drops out almost at the very beginning of the game. Just create an ice path in front of you and in about 10-12 minutes you will reach the island. If you have several heroes with the appropriate skills, then you will be able to noticeably speed up your progress on the ice.
Once you get to the island, you will unlock the achievement "Seeds of stories carried by the wind..."
(Seeds of Stories, Brought By the Wind…), which will give you 5 Source Stones.
What can be found on the secret island
As you explore the island, you will be able to find many things. Many of them cannot be called rare, but there are also quite valuable items, and without some you won’t be able to pump to the maximum at all. Below is a list of the most interesting treasures.
- Crabs - used to make crab caviar and in some culinary recipes.
- 1x Treasure Chest at North Beach.
- 1x Common chest near the center of the ruins.
- 1x Luxurious Chest, hidden behind the east side of the semi-flooded island (see screenshot below).
- 1x Anemoculus - can be obtained by descending from the highest tower.
There is a level 37 Ruin Guard sleeping on South Beach near the camp, so be prepared for a fierce fight. You can try to avoid all of this opponent's hits by leading him to a cliff and standing directly over him. However, if your level is too low, then you most likely will not have time to do this.
The last thing you can find on this secret island is a sundial with marks indicating Wind and Light. After interacting with the sundial, you will start the Time and Wind quest.
Passage of the quest "Time and Wind"
How to solve the sundial puzzle
After starting the quest, head to the south side of the island, not far from where the Ruin Guard was, and you will see a shovel stuck in the sand. Destroy the pile of rocks near it and read the Worn Diary lying below.
Change the game time to 2am and use Elemental Sight (mouse wheel) on the sundial. This will allow you to see the Anemo Cluster. Use the wind skill on it to dispel it. Look for other clusters. They can be found in the southwest, east, and on top of the island's tallest pillar (see images below).
Note: If you do not have time to do this before 5 o'clock in the morning, then the accumulation of wind will simply disappear. Rewind time to 2am again.
Next, use Anemo's skill on the wind in the center of the ruins to spawn the Level 37 Eye of the Storm boss. Start fighting him. As soon as he has about 20% health left, he will fly away and you will need to go in pursuit of him. Use the gust of wind and acceleration rings and you will soon land south of the Thousand Wind Temple, not far from the other sundial.
Change the time to 2am and you'll see clusters of Anemos on pedestals around the clock. Each cluster you dispel will spawn two little Anemo Slimes. As soon as you dispel the third Anemo, the Eye of the Storm will reappear, and it will already be level 40.
How to defeat Eye of the Storm
This is a tough fight, not only because this opponent might be your first level 40 enemy, but also because he spawns additional creatures during the fight. There are a few key points that you need to pay attention to if you want to minimize the damage you take. We recommend preparing a lot of healing and reviving food before the bat, as well as having several strong archers in the team (especially if their elements can interact with each other).
You've probably come across Eye of the Storm before. So - the strategy of the battle with him will remain almost the same. Difficulties can arise only with constantly appearing ordinary opponents. Here is how we advise you to prioritize your battle:
- High Priority: When the Eye of the Storm rises and creates a sealed bubble that starts dealing continuous damage, be sure to fire an arrow at it to make it stop and fall to the ground. You will know that the boss is preparing for this attack when the orb in the center starts to shrink.
- Medium Priority: Focus on magic opponents that buff the boss to get them out of the fight as soon as possible. Only after that you can start killing the Eye of the Storm again.
- Lowest priority: Anemo slimes. While they are large and likely to get in your way, attacking them will only waste your time. We advise you to just wait for their special strike, during which they jump and start shooting at you with wind. If at this moment you pin the slimes with an arrow, they will immediately burst, that is, you will be able to kill them with just one attack.
After dealing with the boss, talk to Henry Morton, who will be standing nearby to complete the quest. The reward for completing it will be: 500 adventure points, 60 source stones, 4 hero experience, 6 pieces of magical enhancement ore and 60,000 Mora. You will also unlock the "Nothing to Lose But Time" achievement, which will give you 5 more Source Stones.
