In Genshin Impact The Lotus Eater is Encanomia world quest, in which you will need to solve the puzzle with triangular mechanisms in Gorge and get the pearl of the dragon flower. If you do not know how to start and complete this quest, then study our detailed walkthrough.
How to start the Lotus Eater quest
First of all, you will need to complete the task of the world called "The Subterranean Trials of Drake and Serpent". Next, activate the Eternal Night using one of the special devices, the location of which can be seen on Encanomia interactive map, and head to The Serpent’s Heart.
Solving the puzzle with symbols in The Serpent’s Heart
Teleport to the northern fast travel point on the left side of the location. Then turn the camera to the west, go to the cliff and glide down over the edge of the island. At the bottom there will be a crevice with a stone staircase. Go down there and run into the cave.
Go deeper into the dungeon until you reach a pile of stone boxes. Above them you will see a drawing with symbols on the rock. Climb on top of the boxes and activate the signs to see in what order you will need to activate the seals in the future.
Now move again to the teleport in the north of the Serpent's Heart. Enter the stone building with blue barriers, where you have already been before as part of the quest "The Heart of Ouroboros". You will be transported to its center. Next, you will need to go through the force fields with signs in the same order that was shown on the wall.
With the right choice of seal, you will automatically fly off to the center. Otherwise, you will simply pass through the Hurdle. If you messed up the symbols, then go outside and switch to the White Night using the mechanism, and then immediately activate the Eternal Night to reset the puzzle.
After solving the puzzle, a ghost will appear right in the middle of the room. Chat with him to start the corresponding quest.
Go where "children are hidden"
The ghost won't remember who he is. You will need to help him find out this information. Exit the stone building and interact with the ancient stone tablet nearby. After that, return to the ghost and tell him what you have learned.
Solving the puzzle with three triangular mechanisms
Activate the White Night using the mechanism near the stone building, move to Gorge and head to the area marked on the map. You will need to glide down into the crevice.
Here you will find 3 triangular mechanisms and the same number of pendant lamps. You will need to hit the devices with melee attacks to adjust the position of the lights. When you see the inscription “Looks like the right place…”
, stop hitting the mechanism.
The picture above shows how many times each of the devices needs to be hit, and the correct location of the lights. Apparently, the order is not important, but we still advise you to start with the central plinth and finish with the side plinths. We add that the game often does not count hits, so you need to take into account only those attacks that led to the movement of the lamps. If you did everything right, then a passage will open ahead. Enter the ruins.
Then switch back to Eternal Night. Drop down into the hole in the floor and up the stone stairs. Next, talk to the ghost in the hideout. During the conversation, you must select the second phrase: "After sunset comes darkness..."

After talking with the ghost, examine the chest nearby to find Secret Room Key. It is not related to this quest, but it will be useful to you in the future for finding new treasure. You can interact with the lever to open the grate and create a shortcut to the exit from the ruins.
Retrieve the Dragon Flower Pearl
Move to the Temple of Eternal Night and move to the area marked on the map. There, 3 Electro Vishaps of the Depths will be waiting for you. We advise you to take a powerful Cryo damage dealer to your squad in order to quickly deal with them.
Next, get water from the River of Oblivion by simply approaching the quest marker. Now travel to the Serpent's Maw to climb to the top of the Dragon Flower. Pour it with previously collected water.
Wait for the Dragon Flower to harden
We will immediately warn you that you will have to wait one calendar day. The quest will have to be updated the next day after the server update (usually happens at 04:00). The game will tell you that you can take the pearl by issuing a new task.
Return to the flower and pick up the desired item. This will end the mission. As a reward, you will receive 200 adventure points, 30 source stones and 3 hero experience. However, your adventures don't end there.
To whom to sell the dragon flower pearl
Paimon will advise you to contact various merchants to find out to whom and for how much you can sell the fruit you find. You can offer it to store owners in three regions:
- Mikoshi Genichiro, owner of the Neke no Gen workshop, located in the city of Inazuma (Narukami Island) - he will offer you 80,000 mora and 5 dishes of Sashimi Platter (increase the chance of a critical hit and attack power).
- Lin Lang, owner of Xigu Antique Store, located in Liyue Harbor - it will offer you 80,000 pestilence and 5 "Bountiful Year" dishes (increase critical hit chance and attack power).
- Marjorie, owner of the Splendid Wind, located in the city of Mondstadt - she will offer you 80,000 mora and 5 Moon Pie dishes (increase defense and shield strength).
Thus, the reward will differ only in dishes. So you can sell the pearl to any of the merchants, depending on what kind of Dish you need most right now.
