In Genshin Impact meeting with Layla is separate type of legend quests, in which you need to choose different answers while communicating with different characters, make certain decisions and complete some tasks to open all available endings.
As you unlock new endings, you will receive valuable prizes, including source stones, additional paintings for the teapot of serenity and the materials of the exaltation of heroes. In this guide, you will learn about all the choices and actions that you need to make to unlock the full story.
How to start and complete meetings with Layla
You will be able to take on the passage of this quest chain if you meet a number of conditions, namely:
- Have at least Adventure Rank 40. In our separate article tips for quickly increasing this parameter are given.
- Complete the Archons quest called "The Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises" , which is the 5th chapter of Thoma III of the main storyline.
- Prepare 2 Legend Keys by completing exactly 16 daily errands (only 4 such missions can be completed per day). We add that at the same time you can have no more than 3 keys with you, so it will not be possible to save them in reserve.
Having dealt with all the above requirements, open the Legend Quests menu and go to the Encounters category. There, find the necessary heroine and unlock the meeting with her.
In this guide, you will not find a detailed description of absolutely all the events that take place during this task, since we do not want to spoil your impression of completing it on your own. We will only indicate the key forks, actions and decisions with which you can open different endings. The article will also, if necessary, consider all the puzzles, give answers to quiz questions and show the location of important objects.
Keep in mind that you don't have to start the entire line from scratch to unlock each ending. You can easily go to any fork you need in the "Meeting: Layla" window. In addition, since the release of version 2.2, the game now indicates the options you previously selected.
Note: We add that during conversations with Laila, you will surely notice a scale consisting of white hearts with a lightning bolt in the upper right corner - it shows the student's stress level. Its size has no effect on unlocking endings, but if it fills up completely, the encounter will immediately end, forcing you to return to the last junction you reached. Hearts can fill up due to the Traveler's rude behavior or choosing the wrong answers.
Act I Silent Stars
The picture below shows all the branches of the story that lead to different endings. It gives an overview of the meeting. Next, we will take a closer look at all existing routes.
After the start of the Meeting, go to the Academy located in the city of Sumeru. There you will meet a mysterious person and Layla, with whom you will start a dialogue. Already within the framework of this Prologue, a fork awaits you, leading to different finals. All possible branches are considered below.
Ending 1: What's left unsaid
Fork route: Slumbering Evening Star -> Fairy of Wisdom -> Broken Dialogue -> Another Way -> Organize Evidence -> "Her" True Face
Fork "Drowsy Evening Star"
So, start a conversation with Lila. During the conversation with her, you need to choose the following answers:

The rest of the answers in this dialog do not affect anything. Note that in the first fork, in any case, you will receive 1 level of anxiety, so you don’t have to worry about this.
Fork "Fairy of Wisdom"
Head to Daena's House by following the quest marker. Upon entering the library, immediately turn left and go down the stairs. Approach the bookshelf and start a dialogue with Rabah. He will tell you how to find the Wisdom Fairy.
Fork "Disrupted Dialogue"
Go to the other end of the library, approach the shelf and take the book "Theoretical Astrology". After that, a new dialogue with Layla will begin. You will need to select the following answer:
- Maybe this fairy is just teasing you?
When continuing the conversation, you can choose any answers, as they will not affect anything. Note that at the beginning of the conversation, you will gain and lose 1 level of stress anyway.
Fork "Another way"
You will need to gather more information about the fairy by asking several people: Latifu, Hunaina and Katayoun. All of them are in the library. You can choose any answers when talking with them, as this will not affect the ending and stress.
Fork "Organization of Evidence"
Having collected various information about the fairy, you will need to systematize them. To do this, you will need to play a mini-game, as in the story quest with Nahida. Follow these steps:
- Select "Book Inventory" and click on the "Interpret" button.
- Select the Wisdom Fairy Real Identity item and click on the Interpret button.
- Now you need to match the option "The real identity of the fairy of wisdom" with the item "" Place of observation".
- Select the item "Logic of the actions of the fairy of wisdom" and click on the "Submit conclusion" button.
Then you can choose any answers, as they will no longer affect the ending.
Fork "Her True Face"
Head to the observation tower located north of Pardis Dhyai and climb onto it. There, talk to Layla again. Choose any answers, as all of them will increase the girl's stress level. As a result, the second personality of the student will “wake up”, and you will be able to ask her about everything. Again, you can choose any dialogue options.
As a result, the first part of the task will be completed, and you will see the art with the ending. Now you can move on to the next branch.
Ending 2: The Price and Reward

Fork "Subtext"
Move to the teleporter in Chinvat Gorge, and then go southwest along the road. The conversation with Layla will start again. Choose any answers, as they do not affect the plot.
Then go down and look for the second pile of stones near the reservoir. Be careful, as here deserters can attack you. Having dealt with them, destroy the cobblestones. Talk to a friend (you can choose any answers).
Fork "Path of Failure"
Head to the third location, located north of Vimara village. Layla will start talking about her past. You will need to say the following (you will get 1 stress level anyway):
- It is unlikely that the fairy wants to shame you for the past. Try this time to meet the challenge face to face.
Fork "Last step"
You will need to find clues left by the Wisdom Fairy. To do this, find a stack of stones behind the hut and destroy it. You will find a drawing of a house from Vimara village and decide to head there.
The desired building is located in the western part of the settlement. Approach him to start the next dialogue. You will find out what happened to the family that was attacked by the bandits. After the conversation, the quest will come to an end. You will receive an achievement "The Secret of the Fairy and the Starry Sky" and see the art of the second ending.
Ending 3: Don't repeat mistakes

Fork "Rescue Measures"
You will need to talk to Azzam, who is located near the entrance to the Academy (one level down). During the dialogue with him, choose the following option:

By choosing this option, you can leave Lila's stress level unchanged.
Fork "Protection Training"
Having obtained the necessary tool, go to the library and talk to Layla again. You will need to ask her one question to help prepare for the defense of the work:

Fork "Protection Training"
We will not describe the previous actions, but immediately start with the final fork. Approach Layla and ask her a question:

Both options will work, as they will lead to increased stress on Lila and the appearance of her second personality. Complete the dialogue to get the desired ending.
Ending 6: Brief Respite

Exit the establishment and head to the northern part of the Chatrakam Cave. Go to the quest marker near the pond and talk to Lila. Then just follow the girl and collect fruits along the way. Then give her 3 juicy zaytun peaches, fresh apples, or ripe harra fruits.
Fork "As before"
Head to the marked area to collect firewood. Deal with a group of hilichurls near the tree, and then pick up 3 dry firewood. Chat with your friend again. You can choose any answer options, as they will not affect the final. You will reduce Lila's stress level by one.
Fork "After a hearty lunch"
Now go to the shore of the lake and swim With You your friend. You will need to swim to a certain point in the pond. Make sure you have a full stamina bar before you swim or you'll drown near the finish line. Having reached the shore, talk to the student again. You will reduce your stress level by one more heart.
Fork "From the Down to Dodge of the seas to the tops of the mountains"
At the end, you will need to climb to the top of the nearest mountain. We advise you to use springy mushrooms to climb up faster. Then talk to Layla again. You will bring her stress level down to zero.
After completing the dialogue, you will receive a new ending. If you followed our guide and it was your 6th ending, then you will unlock the achievement "Her name is Layla".
Rewards for meeting Lila
For unlocking each new ending, you will receive a certain reward. Below is a list of things that you will be given for completing the entire chain:
- Unlock 1 Encounter Memory: 100 Adventure Points, 5 Hero XP, and 5 Extravagant Slumber Meals.
- Unlock 2 Encounter Memories: 100 Adventure Points, 20 Source Stones, and 3 Guide to Ingenuity.
- Unlock 3 Encounter Memories: 100 Adventure Points, 5 Hero XP, and 3 Shivad Jade Fragments.
- Unlock 4 Encounter Memories: 100 Adventure Points, 20 Source Stones, and 5 Extravagant Slumber Meals.
- Unlock 5 Encounter Memories: 100 Adventure Points, 5 Hero XP, and 3 Shivad Jade Fragments.
- Unlock 6 Encounter Memories: 100 Adventure Points, 20 Source Stones, and 3 Guide to Ingenuity.
In addition, for opening all the branches you will unlock a unique achievement "Her name is Layla", thus obtaining another 20 source stones. There are also two additional trophies that we talked about above - they give 10 more primogems for them.
