Mol in Baldur's Gate 3: where to find and how to save

    Zorthrus

In Baldur's Gate 3 Find the pier is side quest, in which you will meet a tiefling thief who has organized her own gang of children. You have to find her after being abducted by demons in the Last Light tavern and help her return the agreement with Raphael.

How to find Maul in Tiefling Hideout

    Explore the beach

You will first be able to meet Maul in the first chapter in the Tiefling Hideout, but before going there, head to the beach located in the eastern area of the Emerald Grove. There you will find a tiefling child named Mirkon (X: 332, Y: 547) and talk to him. The screenshots below show its exact location.

During the conversation, make a Wisdom (5) check to remove the harpies' spell. Then deal with the monsters to free the child's mind from the enchantment. Talk to him again. He will advise you to find Maul. To do this, you need to approach Doni and tell him the password.

Return to the Stone Hall and look for a tiefling boy named Doni (X: 224, Y: 544) near the oxen. Enter into dialogue with him, and then tell him that you want to see the Dragon's Lair. He will point you to a secret hatch behind him. You can also go through several checks to discover the secret passage yourself.

Use the hatch and you will find yourself in the Tiefling Hideout. Go downstairs and talk to Maul (X: 81, Y: 74). If you helped Mirkon, she will agree to talk to you. Otherwise, the girl will demand that you leave.

If you complete the “Save Arabella” quest, Maul will thank you and give you access to the “Steal the Sacred Idol” quest. However, going through all these missions, apparently, is not necessary. The main thing is not to help the goblins in the first chapter, but to side with the druids and tieflings so that Maul survives.

Walkthrough of the quest “Find Maul” in Baldur's Gate 3

    How to start the quest

So, if Maul is not dead, then in Act 2 you can find her in the Last Light tavern, located in the Shadowblighted Lands. In it on the first floor Mol (X: 61, Y: 134) will play chess with Rafail. Chat with her. You learn that she signed a contract with the devil in order to reach Baldur's Gate with her gang and immediately join the local thieves guild.

Continue through the main story, chatting with Isobel and taking on the mission "Deal with the Kidnapping". As part of the latter, Maul will be kidnapped by one of the demons that attacked the inn. When the battle comes to an end, chat with the tiefling children standing on the ground floor and tell them that you will save their leader. As a result, the quest “Find the Mol” starts.

    Search Mol everywhere

Important: Let us immediately note that within the framework of the second act it will not be possible to find the girl - this will only be possible in the third chapter in Baldur's Gate. In the Moon Towers and other locations you can only find various clues indicating its further location. However, it appears that there is no need to discover them, so you can safely head into town without trying to look for clues about its location.

You will need to advance through the main story by completing part of the search chain Songs of the Night before the prison phase begins, and deal with Ketheric Torm at the top of the Moon Tower. Thus, you will be able to get to another area where there are clues about Mol.

Find Maul in the Mind Flayer Colony

Head to Balthazar's Necrotic Laboratory, located in the southern part of the area. Here on the table you can find the eye patch that belonged to Maul.

While exploring the Mind Flayer Colony, get to the Larvae Implantation Center located in the northern part of the location. There, free Zevlor and chat with him. You will realize that Maul was not among the other tieflings.

Look for Maul in the Moon Towers

If you follow the villainous path, then during a conversation with Balzathazar he can mention Maul, saying that if the tiefling is still in the Lunar Towers, then it will be possible to find her only after the Absolute cultists leave.

When you liberate the Lunar Towers as a good fellow, you will learn that the nautiloid fleet headed for the Baludar Gate, and Maul could have hidden in one of the airships or remained in the towers.

Note: For many, this quest stalls at this stage, since to continue it it is necessary to fully examine the Lunar Towers and chat with certain NPCs. However, there is no need to worry about this - just follow our guide, and the task will eventually be completed.

Look for Maul on the road to Baldur's Gate

Moving into the third act, begin exploring Rivington. Right next to the Requisitioned Barn you can find merchant Mattis (X: 59, Y: -125). Talk to him and you will find out that Maul was still able to get into Baldur's Gate.

Where to find Maul in Baldur's Gate

Continue through the main story until you find yourself in the Lower City. From the Dump Shore rune circle, go a little northeast and talk to Tasgront (X: 54, Y: -101) standing in the alley. If Jaheira is in the party, tell the half-orc that the High Harpist is standing in front of him and then he will let you in without any checks, opening a secret door in the wall.

If you don't have Jaheira on your team, make a Perception and History check (15) to spot the ring and understand what the symbol on it means. Then trick, intimidate or convince (15) the guard to let you in. Couldn't see the ring? In this case, say that you want to look around a little, and then trick, intimidate or convince (20) the half-orc. If you fail the check, you will have to fight six opponents. After that, take the Guild Ring from Thasgront's corpse and open the secret door.

Note: If you were unable to convince the guard in any way (and you do not want to start a fight with him), but at the same time you have well-developed Sleight of Hand, then you can try to decorate him with a Guild Ring, which then needs to be inserted into the groove in the wall where the entrance opens.

Move towards the Nine-Fingered Office in the north and, before reaching the entrance to it, turn right. There you will find Mol (X: -18, Y: 752), and with two eyes. Chat with her. She will say that she is fine. Her goal now is to become the head of the thieves guild. This will be the end of the quest, but the girl’s story will not end, as you can find her contract with Raphael.

How to get Maul and Raphael's contract

Finding Maul's contract with Raphael is not part of the quest, but it will allow you to later recruit the girl when gathering allies. You can find him in the House of Hope. To get to this location, first go to the “Devil's Share”, located north of the “Central Wall of the Lower City” rune circle, talk to Helsik and pay her to open a portal to the Underworld.

If you do not want to pay, then perform the ritual yourself. To do this, go up to the second floor of the building and go to the pentagram drawn in blood. You will need to place 5 items on it in any order (just in case, use the same order as in the picture below):

    • Coin of Mammon - can be found in the next room.
    • Diamond - hidden in a locked chest on the second floor.
    • Hell Marble - Hidden in a locked chest on the second floor.
    • Incense - can be found on the table on the second floor.
    • Skull - can be purchased from Helsik or taken from the cabinet opposite the pentagram.

Once in the House of Hope, go to the northern part of the circular hall and touch the Empty Devil Gem. Next, you will need to pass a Wisdom check (10) to turn the mechanism into a Hellstone of Control. Interact with him again and pass a Magic check (20) to open a secret passage.

If you fail the check, your hero will simply be knocked down, and you can try to open the passage again - you can do this any number of times. Then go into the treasury and go to the table in the east. On it you will find the contract Mol.

Now return to the girl in the Guild Tavern and chat with her again. Give her the contract, but don't tell her that Raphael is dead. Instead, try to convince (15) her to join the defense of the city. If you manage to do this, the number of your allies will increase.
