"In Search of Lost Time" Genshin Impact is Fontaine's quest chain, in which you will have to help the hydrologist Broglie collect lost punched tapes that contain data on the state of water in the region. The task is complicated by the fact that most of the stations were occupied by Fatui troops. In this guide, we will tell you how you can start this mission, and where to find the commander of the Snezhnaya soldiers to deal with the problem once and for all.
How to start a task
Before you begin the final part of the mission, you will need to complete three tasks:
You can do them in any order, but we recommend starting from the south tower, as this is where you can meet the scientist who will fill you in on the matter. You can see a map showing the location of all stations below.
Once you have collected all three punched tapes, the mission "In Search of Lost Time" will begin automatically.
How to complete the task
Talk to Broglie, who is waiting for you at the New Institute. The hydrologist will ask to be escorted to the processing center so he can interpret the collected data.
The processing center is located in the north of the Institute of Kinetic Energy region. Climb onto the bridge leading to the entrance, closed by bars. There you will talk to Broglie, after which the doorway will open. A luxurious chest will be waiting for you inside.
After collecting the treasures, go downstairs and activate the mechanism standing there. While working with him, Malinovsky will suddenly appear, see that he is no longer alone at the station, and try to escape.
Follow him downstairs. Since the Fatouian has closed the passage through which he escaped, you will have to use a workaround. To do this, activate the terminal in the center of the room. Once in camera mode, take the energy from the floor storage device and move it to the battery on the shelf.
Exit camera mode and pick up a full drive. Place it next to the mechanism located near the barrier in the wall. Activate the terminal and dive into the opened passage.
Swim around the tower. There you will see the following mechanism. Interact with it to move into the chamber. Take energy from the right storage and move it to the left. After this, the door will open.
Swim inside the building and go upstairs. Finally you will meet with Malinovsky, but after the battle he will run away again.
Go up one level and exit the tower through the same passage through which you left it last time. Swim through the water corridor; accelerating rings that appear along the way will show you the way.
When you swim to the surface, you will again have to fight Malinovsky and his partner. After this, there will be a final dialogue that will complete this quest.
