Moore in Elden Ring Shadow of the Edtree: Where to Find Gatherer's Guides

    Zorthrus

In Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Moore is a new merchant with his own storyline. You can meet him while exploring the Shadowfell, purchase certain goods from Moore, and find Gatherer's Guides for him. The ending of this quest will depend on your actions and words. In this guide, we will tell you where you can find this character and what you should respond to him after destroying the Great Rune of Mikella.

Walkthrough of Moore's quest in Shadow of the Erdtree

Where to find Moore for the first time

For the first time you can meet this merchant near the place of grace "The Cross at the Main Gate", located near the passage to Belurat, a settlement near the tower. You can go here almost at the very beginning of the expansion after entering the Plain of Tombstones. The merchant will be sitting next to the boxes.

Chat with him. You learn that he is helping Leda and Mikella's other followers gather supplies. You can also purchase several items from him. Its assortment includes runic arcs (3 pieces), various pickled livers, arrows, bolts, mushrooms and the note “Closed. sources”, which talks about how to unblock air flows.

Buy absolutely any product from Moore to have a new option appear in his dialog box "Talk to Moore" . Thus, you can find out more information about this character, but you can easily complete his quest without this conversation.

Find Thiolier and give him the Black Molasses

Note: Apparently, all these actions with Thiolier are not at all necessary for the Moore quest, so if you are only interested in the merchant’s task, you can skip this step.

You can find this character near the place of grace "Cross by the road with columns", which can be accessed from "Front of the Castle", if you follow the road to the southeast. The pictures below show the correct location. Chat with the masked man there to find out about his problem.

Then return to Moore, who will still be sitting near the "Cross at the Main Gate" and chat with him to receive from him Black molasses. Now take it to Tiolier, who can be found in the same place as last time. Don't forget to ask him about molasses to get from him Thiolier's medicine, which will be useful to you when completing the quest Priestess of the Dragon Sacrament.

If Thiolier does not give you his special brew, then refresh the location by resting near the nearest place of grace, and then talk to the character again and select the answer "I'm tired of life" . After that, he will definitely give you the drug. In addition, you can buy additional bottles from him for 30 thousand runes each.

Where to find Gatherer's Guides (optional)

After talking with Moore, talk to Ansbach. He will tell you that the merchant works together with many collectors - the Kindred of Rot, who can be found in various parts of the Realm of Shadows. They will not be aggressive towards the main character, so it is not recommended to attack them. If you simply interact with them, you will receive a Gatherer's Handbook.

First Kin of Rot with a reference book can be found outside the walls of Ensis Castle. To get to the right place, get to the place of grace "Cross by the Road", and then go a little to the southeast.

Second collector can be found east of Prospect City. Go south from the place of grace “Last rest on the mountain road” until you reach the point we indicated. Then interact with the creature.

Third Kin of Rot can be found in a poisonous swamp located north of the Cote d'Azur. You will need to get past the fire golem, so be careful.

Fourth Kindred of Rot is located north of the Temple of the Sacred March. Travel to the "Cross by the Road" location of grace, and then move northwest to reach the desired location. During your first encounter with the creature, you will need to throw a warming stone near it, making it more friendly to the Extinguished One. Then update the location and return to it again to get the reference book.

Fifth Gatherer can be found north of the Ruins of Mort. Head north from the Grace Place until you find a triangular pool with a small cave that will lead you to the area underneath the Shadow Haven. This area is full of enemies, so deal with them first, and only then approach the desired creature.

Sixth Gatherer can be found east of Shadow Haven. Move to the Church District Path grace location, and then start walking west towards the Church District Path, but before reaching it, go down a little and to the left. Interact with the monster to receive a reference book.

Now return to Moore and talk to him several times. Eventually, he will hand over the 7th Gatherer's Guide to you on his own.

Approach Shadow Haven and break Mikella's spell

From "Cross by the Road" ride north to a huge fortress called Shadow Haven. As soon as you approach its gate, you will see an inscription on the screen stating that the Great Rune has been destroyed somewhere. This is a kind of trigger that advances the characters' story lines, so we advise you to be sure to talk to all the NPCs before approaching this castle.

What to tell Moore (all quest endings)

Having broken Mikella's spell and made all the inhabitants of the Kingdom of Shadows independent, return to Moore and enter into dialogue with him. He will be sad that he no longer feels Mikella's presence. Then select the "Talk to Moore" option again. He will say that their mother left them here because she didn’t love them, so he doesn’t know what to do next. You can choose one of three answer options:

    1. Do not think about it.
    2. Sad forever.
    3. I don't know.

Your answer will directly affect the ending of this quest, so below we will consider in detail all decisions and their consequences for you.

    Say "Don't think about it"

In this case, Moore will think deeply about your words, believing that Mikella thus showed her love for her abandoned descendants. After the conversation, you can continue to buy goods from him. When you update the location, it will disappear.

The next time you will meet Moore is only in Enir-Ilim. Get to the place of grace “Antechamber of the Chamber of Purification”, go up the stairs in the east direction and go to the huge arena. Here you will find up to two gold and one red summon symbol. The first allows you to summon allies (Ansbach, Thiolier and/or Nataan), and the second begins the battle with Leda and her followers.

At the same time, Moore will also be among the girl’s henchmen. So if you tell him "Do not think about it" , then you will make this fight somewhat more difficult for yourself. Once you've dealt with all the enemies, you'll return back and be able to examine the merchant's corpse to pick up his Bell Orb (give it to the twin maids), a set of green copper armor, and a large green copper shield.

    Say "Sad forever"

In this case, Moore will be more sad than before, since his life is now meaningless. However, you can continue to buy goods from him and sell him unnecessary items. But as soon as you update the location, he will immediately disappear. Note that you will also be prohibited from interacting with non-aggressive Blightkin, so you will not be able to pick up Gatherer's Guides from them if you have not already done so.

When Moore goes missing, you can find him elsewhere. Travel to the place of grace "Cross by the Road", and then move northwest to the Temple of the Sacred March. Do not enter it, but go around on the right side and run up the slope in a northwest direction. Get to the edge of the cliff. Here you will find the body of Moore and the corpse of a relative of rot. Examine it to pick up the items we described above.

Note that in this case you will not have to fight Moore when Leda and her followers come against you. So this option, in a practical sense, will be better than the previous one.

    Say "I don't know"

In this case, nothing will happen, meaning Moore's storyline will remain hanging in limbo. You can select this answer if you have not yet found all the collector's reference books. Then you can return to the merchant at any time and choose one of the two above options (this must be done before entering Enir-Ilim).

If you burn the tree and go to the secret area, the Moore chain will be broken. You will not receive his Bell Orb, Shield, or Armor Set. However, in this case the merchant will remain alive.

    Alternate ending with Moore

If you kill any two collectors whose locations we indicated above, then Moore will invade your world in the form of a red phantom. Once you deal with him, you will receive an armor set and a green copper shield, but you will not be given a bell sphere. For this reason, we advise you to first buy all the necessary goods from this character, and then attack the relatives of rot.

The characteristics of the armor and shield can be seen in the screenshots above. Let us add that in this case you will not have to fight Mur in Enir-Ilim. At this point, Moore's quest in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree can be considered complete.
