In this article we will tell you exactly when update 5.0 will be released for Genshin Impact, what new banners, characters, events, quests, regions and enemies await players, as well as what weapons, artifacts and cards for the Holy Summoning of the Seven will appear in the game. We will gradually update the material, so we recommend adding it to your bookmarks.
Note: Currently, the information below is based not only on developer statements, but also on leaks and files obtained by data miners and testers, so it is not 100% reliable and may change over time.
Genshin Impact 5.0 release date
HoYoverse usually releases updates every six weeks, so the next patch should be released soon August 28, 2024. It will be replaced version 5.1 approximately October 9 of this year.
You can preload the client a few days before its release. The developers will probably carry out technical work, which can last up to 5 hours. Players are usually given compensation in the amount of 300-600 source stones.
Live broadcast on Genshin Impact 5.0
The development team almost always holds special streams 1.5-2 weeks before the release of a new update. They usually take place on Friday-Sunday. For this reason, the live broadcast according to version 5.0 must pass August 16-18, 2024 at 15:00 Moscow time. During it they will place three promotional codes for 300 primogems.
New characters and banners
The miHoYo team has already officially introduced three new characters that will appear in the upcoming patch: Mualani, Kinich and Kachina. Insiders shared information about their abilities and rerans of other heroes.
First phase banners
Informants suggest that in the first half of the patch in banners The following fighters will be represented:
- 5-star – Mualani (Hydro, catalyst) and Zhongli (Geo, spear).
- 4-star – unknown yet.
Mualani comes from the Folk of the Springs and is a professional guide who can show the player the most impressive places in Natlan. She is quite superstitious and goes on a journey only on favorable days. Citlali, who, apparently, can see the future, helps her calculate them.
In “Incarnation of a Deity” you will be able to obtain the signature catalyst of Mualani, the name of which is still unknown, and the spear Vortex Vanquisher (signature of Zhongli).
Second phase banners
In the second half of the update (starting September 18), the following fighters will most likely be released:
- 5-star – Kinich (Dendro, two-handed sword) and Tartaglia (Hydro, Onion).
- 4-star – Kachina (Geo, spear).
Kinich is a cold-blooded and pragmatic saurian hunter (previously the name "saurians" was used in localization). Although the Natlans live in peace with elemental dragons, some consider them to be creatures of corruption that must be destroyed, which is what Kinich does for a price.
Kachina comes from the Children of Echoes clan, a gem-mining clan. Despite her youth, she is an extremely strong girl who does not pay attention to her pain and tears. This earned her the nickname Uthabithi, which means perseverance in the African Swahili language. With You with other children, Kachina enjoys spending time in the recording studio.
As for the weapons banner, you should expect the appearance of the signature two-handed sword Kinich, the name of which is still unknown, and the Polar Star bow (Tartaglia’s signature).
Mondstadt: Blessing of the Chronicles
Informants suggest that this banner in patch 5.0 may be dedicated to Liyue, so we will see the following characters in it: Shenhe (Cryo, spear), Ganyu (Cryo, Onion), Hu Tao (Pyro, spear), Yelan (Hydro, Onion), Keqing (Electro, one-handed sword), Qiqi (Cryo, one-handed sword).
Pyro Traveler
According to tradition, With You the release of a new region, the main Achievement: Hero receives an additional element at his disposal - this time fire. Unfortunately, there is no information about his abilities yet.
New region Natlan
In update 5.0, the developers will add Natlan to the game. According to preliminary information, it is located in the southeast of Sumeru, that is, it will be possible to get there from the desert. According to GuraLeak, already in the first patch the new region will boast a significant size - it will be comparable to the Dendro kingdom of patches 3.0 and 3.1. In the picture below you can see part of the Piro area map.
Let us remind you that the first official details about this region became known earlier:
- A common activity in Natlan is rock climbing.
- Hot springs already known from other NPCs are mentioned. Surely, we will be able to visit them as part of our exploration of the region.
- Ranjit mentions that during his stay in Natlan he experienced "excess Piro on the skin." Presumably, exploration of the region will be complicated by a special aura affecting the characters, similar to the cold in Dragonspine and the electricity in some parts of Inazuma. You can currently fall under such influence of Pyro, for example, during the second phase of the battle with Signora.
- Natlana is home to special creatures - saurians. They are powerful elemental creations that live in alliance with the common people of the region. You can learn more about them from the description of the artifact set "Unfinished Layla: Daydream". It is mentioned that some of the saurians have fire breath. Various world bosses remind Ranjit of these Natlalan creatures.
- The Piro region's warriors choose their war gear to look more like dragons and appear more impressive to their opponents.
- The climate of Natlan is noticeably different from the rest of Teyvat.
- There is a rule or taboo unknown to outsiders, because of which the residents of Natlan cannot go beyond the borders of their region.
Screenshots of Natlan and his characters were also published online. Many players hoped to see gloomy lands with volcanoes and ash, but instead the developers decided to make a new colorful location made in the style of the Grand Canyon.
Pyrocules
Fire particles scattered throughout all areas of Natlan and necessary to increase the level of Piro Archon statues. According to preliminary information, a total of 271 pyrocules can be found, but in patch 5.0 it will be possible to collect no more than 70 spheres.
New equipment
Weapon
In patch 5.0, players can expect at least two new legendary weapons, which will become the signatures of Mualani and Kinich. There will also be a new crafting set, the creation of which will require central lands blanks. Plus, a new 4-star weapon (catalyst or two-handed weapon) will be given for farming fish in Natlan. Unfortunately, there is no detailed information on them yet.
Artifacts
With a high probability, a new dungeon of blessing will appear in the first location of Natlan, where you will be able to farm two new sets of artifacts, which will be aimed at strengthening the mechanics of new characters.
New tasks
Quest of the Archons
Natlan's quest arc is starting, so you should wait for the release of new story missions. In addition, starting with this update, the developers intend to pay more attention to revealing the lore and character motivation, so quests will most likely have more dialogue and cut scenes, but less battles and travel.
Legend Quests
The miHoYo studio often releases personal quests for its new legendary characters, so you can expect the release of two similar missions at once.
World Quests
On the territory of Natlan it will be possible to discover a large number of side missions and entire quest chains, with the help of which players will be able to learn a lot of new information about the Pyro kingdom and its inhabitants.
New mechanics and systems
Mounts
Saurians will appear in the game - elemental dragons living in the territory of Natlan. Players will be able to tame them and then transform into them to overcome various obstacles. In the video below you can see the abilities of some types of these lizard-like creatures.
Offerings
With the release of a new region, Genshin Impact also often introduces an additional offering system related to the collection and transfer of elemental seals to receive various rewards. The corresponding facility will most likely be located in the capital of Natlana.
