In Cyberpunk 2077 The endings turned out to be quite varied, so it is difficult to choose the best one among them. Here a lot depends on the personal preferences and views of the players. True, there is still a worse ending, which we will talk about at the very end of the article. Let's add that 4 silver achievements are associated with epilogues.
There are several requirements that you will need to fulfill in order to receive one or another ending (we will talk about them in more detail below), but in general it depends on only one decision, which you will have to make in the penultimate task “For Whom the Bell Tolls”. Misty will take you to the balcony, where you will need to talk to Johnny Silverhand. Your answer will ultimately lead to one of 6 endings.
If you didn't like the ending you got, then after the credits you can easily return to the place before the conversation with Silverhand and try to open a different ending. Thus, at one time you can easily view all possible endings of the game and get the necessary trophies.
Ending "Devil"
Ending explained
You will be able to help Takemura take revenge on him for the death of Saburo. However, you are subsequently sent to a medical space station due to your injuries, where you have to undergo endless, monotonous tests. In the presence of novel you will be able to talk to your beloved on the phone. You will then be told that despite your efforts, your body will soon die. Disappointment with tests will not affect the final in any way. Next, you can make the last choice, which will determine the final cut-scene:
- Give your consent to participate in the program and allow Arasaka to archive your consciousness, as previously happened with Johnny.
- Return to Earth as a free man and die in 6 months. V will also be able to reveal the secret of the Rubik's cube by finding a drawing of the devil in it.
Note: Some players are complaining that they can't unlock the corresponding achievement, so we recommend trying to get this ending last. Perhaps the bug will be fixed very soon.
How to unlock the ending
So, when you go to the balcony with Misty, start a conversation with Johnny. Then tell him that you are taking a big risk by trusting Arasaka, but it will be worth it. Then you need to take omega blockers.
Next you will need to complete several final missions: “The Beginning of the End”, “Brother and Sister” and “Far from Home”. In them you will not have to make any important decisions. Only at the very end, as we indicated above, will it be necessary to choose whether to fly back to Earth or save your mind in digital space.
Ending "Star"
Ending explained
In this ending, you decide to leave Night City with Panam and the nomads (Aldecaldos). This group will decide to help you in the final battle (you will have to storm the corporation in your own Basilisk tank). This will remove Silverhand from your head, so he will not be able to take control of your body. The last video will say that V's future remains uncertain, but at the moment he is happy and determined to move on with his life. Some people will probably find this epilogue the best.
How to unlock the ending
First of all, you will need to complete the Panam Palmer quest chain to form an alliance with the nomads. This must be done before talking with Johnny. We are talking about the following missions:
- Riders of the Storm - it automatically opens during the completion of main tasks.
- Do not call Sol - 1-2 days after completing the previous quest, Panam will call you with a new offer.
- Taming the Basilisk - Complete the previous mission, leave the camp, wait 24 hours, and then return to Palmer to start a new mission.
Now for the penultimate main task "For whom the Bell Tolls" go to the balcony with Misty and enter into dialogue with Silverhand. You should see the “Call Panam” option. Select him and ask the girl for help. Then take your omega blockers and call Palmer again.
Next, you will need to go through three final missions: “You Can’t Choose Your Family,” “Front Line” and “Resident Evil.” In the 3rd quest, after dealing with Adam Smasher, interact with artificial intelligence and plunge into cyberspace. Here, talk to Alt and Johnny. Tell them you want to live out the rest of your life yourself and enter the well to return to your body (DO NOT cross the bridge).
Note: We advise you to save immediately after killing Adam, so that after receiving this ending, load the desired save and quickly get the “Temperance” ending.
Ending "Moderation"
Ending explained
V will decide to give up his body to Silverhand, and he himself will forever remain in cyberspace. Having received a new “carcass”, which was created specifically for him, Johnny helps his new friend and lays a monument to all those who died, and then leaves Night City forever. Not a happy ending for the protagonist.

Ending "Sun"
Ending explained
V becomes a new legend in Afterlife and Night City. It is unknown how long the hero can last in his body. The epilogue will be slightly different if the protagonist has a significant other. Johnny will remain locked in cyberspace forever.
How to unlock the ending
You have to go through the “Bestia” quest chain in order to conclude an agreement between her and Silverhand. Again, this must be done before talking to Johnny on the balcony. Here is a list of tasks to complete:
- In the footsteps of the past - you will receive it automatically as you complete the main tasks.
- Old Drama - After completing the previous quest, call Bestia on the phone and invite her on a date.
Now during the "For Whom the Bell Tolls" quest, follow Misty and chat with Silverhand. Trust him and Bestia, transferring control over the body. Tell them that they are the ones who should go to Arasaka. Then take omega blockers.
In the mission “Last Tango in Night City”, deal with Adam Smasher, and then connect to cyberspace using artificial intelligence. During the next conversation, say that you will stay with Alt, that is, cross the bridge. As a result, Johnny will remain locked in the virtual world, and you will become a legend of the metropolis.
If there is an affair, you will see your beloved (go) in your house and talk to her. Then go to the Afterlife, chat with the client and go into outer space. In the final cutscene, you'll see V pull out a gun and turn on the boosters as he heads toward the space resort for a new mission.
Secret ending
Ending explained
V becomes a new legend in Afterlife and Night City. It is unknown how long the hero can last in his body. The epilogue will be slightly different if the protagonist has a significant other. Johnny will remain locked in cyberspace forever. This ending differs from the previous epilogue in that Bestia will remain alive, and you will meet her in the bar. But then you will still go out into space and go to the space resort to complete the mission. The video below shows this ending last.
How to unlock the ending
It is similar to the previous epilogue, but is still somewhat different from it. To get it, you need to achieve an excellent relationship with Silverhand (the “Happy Moments” parameter must exceed 70% or be equal to 100%). This is quite easy to do - don’t contradict Johnny and agree with all his ideas and suggestions. However, be careful not to overdo it, as Johnny does not like sycophants.
Then, when you find yourself on the balcony in the mission “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” start a conversation with your companion again. Wait about 5 minutes (you may not need to wait), and then select the option where you invite Johnny to go with Bestia. Silverhand will ask if we are sure of this, since there will be no turning back. A third option will appear at the bottom: “Wait, let me think about it for another minute.” Point at it, but do not select it, but wait again for 5 minutes. Johnny will interrupt our thoughts and say that we can go alone. We agree with his plan, and then choose the phrase with the assault on Arasaka.
Worst ending
Ending explained
V decides to stop fighting and simply commits suicide on the balcony. Johnny doesn't blame him for his choice. The game ends immediately.
How to unlock the ending
During the penultimate mission “For Whom the Bell Tolls” we follow Misty’s balcony. There we enter into dialogue with Johnny and tell him that all this will end right now. Then put down the pills and pick up the gun. The main character will shoot himself, and during the credits his friends will call him.
New "Tower" ending from Phantom Liberty
A new ending for the original game becomes available only when V returns Jay to the caring hands of the government ( "King of Pentacles" And "King of Swords" ). This ending directly continues expansion events and is impossible without it, but since it is a replacement for the rest of the game's endings, it should be taken as a direct alternative. Let's look at the events of this outcome.
Quiet life
You will be taken to this quest after one of two possible missions:
- "Closing the Circle" – transmission of Jay in “Fading Star”
- "End of the game" – Somi stays alive in Stare into the Abyss
Soon after parting, Reed will get in touch and report that the operation has been prepared and all you have to do is arrive at the right place and contact certain people. You can choose to follow this path or stop and refuse medical intervention - this will please Johnny, because he will stay with you and hope for another possible way to separate your personalities in the future.
No one is waiting for a mercenary
Having agreed to the operation in the previous quest, you will wake up in your room after two long years. Reed is sitting by the bed - he was the first to arrive when you woke up. All this long time, doctors tried to achieve results by rebuilding the mercenary’s nervous system, which ultimately led to long-awaited success, but with some peculiarities. Now V cannot use implants, which automatically puts an end to his entire previous “career”. In the hope of changing something, you will go through old contacts, but even Victor (the ripper, not without whose help V’s adventures began) will confirm that now you can only come to terms with your new condition and start an ordinary life. A simple quiet life as an alternative to gradually dying out in the glow of the flame.
