In Genshin Impact Hydro Hypostasis is elite boss Inazuma, for defeating which you can get various materials for the rise of characters, including the dew of renunciation, necessary for leveling Sangonomiya Kokomi. In this guide, we will tell you how to find and defeat this enemy.

    Where to find Hydro Hypostasis

To unlock this boss, you do not need to fulfill any special conditions - you just need to get to the archipelago by completing the task of the archons "The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia". After that, head to the western island of Watatsumi.

The monster lives in a cave located in the northern part of the island, west of Lake Suigetsu. An icon with it will appear as soon as you activate the statue of the seven Archons in this region. You can simply jump into the waterfall hole shown in the above screenshot. You can also collect here Electroculus.

However, there is another passage below if you go from the south, moving towards the cliff. The boss will be waiting for you in the big round arena. He won't attack you until you get close to him. Make sure you have at least 40 Elemental Resin before you fight him, otherwise you won't be able to collect the reward later. His respawn occurs approximately 3-5 minutes after death.

    Recommended Team

The weak point of Hydro Hypostasis is its core. We advise you to use ranged characters as your main damage dealer so that you can quickly deal damage to the core when it becomes vulnerable to attacks.

As for the elements, the emphasis should be on Pyro, Cryo and Electro heroes. Note that you will often have to fight slimes, using elemental reactions against them, so we recommend taking fighters that do not physical, but elemental damage. The table below shows the most interesting options.

    Character Advantages

    Ganyu

Can attack from a distance. Deals massive damage with its elemental blast.

    Yanfei

Creates a powerful elemental reaction Par. Deals massive damage with its elemental blast.

    Zhongli

Reduces damage taken with shields. Can place a debuff on enemies, increasing the team's damage dealt.

    Eimiya

Can attack from a distance. Deals massive damage with its elemental blast.

    Fischl

Can attack from a distance. Deals additional damage with its elemental skill.

    Kujou Sara

Can attack from a distance. Increases the damage of your Elemental Burst.

    Diona

Reduces damage taken by heroes with shields. Restores health to allies with an elemental explosion. Can attack from a distance.

    Qiqi

Can deal additional Cryo damage. Restores health to allies with an elemental explosion. Provides Cryo Resonance when combined with a basic damage dealer of the same element.

    Baal

Can deal tons of Electro damage by creating a Charged reaction. Helps restore energy for elemental explosions.

From the above heroes, you can assemble several powerful teams against this boss. First option:

    • Main DPS: Ganyu
    • Secondary DPS: Yanfei or Eimiya
    • Support: Zhongli
    • Traveling Doctor: Diona

    Second option:

    • Primary DPS: Yanfei
    • Secondary DPS: Baal (Shogun Raiden Shogun) or Fischl
    • Support: Zhongli
    • Traveling Doctor: Bennett

    Third option:

    • Primary DPS: Baal (Shogun Raiden Shogun)
    • Secondary DPS: Kujou Sara
    • Secondary DPS: Beidou
    • Traveling Doctor: Diona or Bennett

    How to defeat Hydro Hypostasis

    Boss fight strategy

The battle with this enemy will be in many ways similar to the battles with other hypostases. You have to dodge the blows of the enemy, waiting for the moment when he exposes his core, which will make him susceptible to your attacks. It is at these moments that you need to use your most powerful skills.

However, Hydro Hypostasis also has distinctive features, namely:

    • During the fight, he creates special Hydro slimes (see screenshot below) that release healing orbs at him. If they hit the boss, he will heal a little. You can intercept these "balls" by healing your heroes. Try to destroy the slimes as quickly as possible by applying elemental reactions, such as Steam or Melt.
    • When the boss's health bar drops to almost zero, he will summon three large hydro slimes that will start walking towards him to heal. Be sure to destroy them all to complete the battle. We advise you to use Cryo heroes to deal a lot of damage to slugs.

We add that if you do not have time to kill at least one slime, then the next time only 2 mobs will appear. Therefore, try to destroy as many of these opponents as possible.

As for the direct tactics of battle, there is nothing complicated in it. The boss basically stands still, not chasing the heroes, but simply changing his attacks from melee to ranged and vice versa. If you use melee damage dealers, then don't move too far from the enemy, as he exposes his core quite suddenly, so you can simply not reach him later.

In general, we recommend using long-range heroes, whose elemental explosions often also have a long range. When deciding to attack with a close range ult, wait for Hydro Hypostasis's shell to scatter to the sides, as in this case it will take a long time to recover, which will allow you to approach him and successfully cast the skill.

    Boss moves and attacks

    bubble burst

He transforms into a huge bubble, creating a water circle below him, and then explodes into many cubes, revealing the core. In this case, water dolphins will fall on the character. Dodge them and keep damaging the enemy.

We do not advise you to linger near it for too long, since at the end the parts will return to the core, and then explode, causing significant damage.

    Dolphin Challenge

He summons dolphins that jump from water circles around the arena, dealing damage in a small area. These jumps can be easily dodged with a normal dash.

    Dolphin attack

The boss creates three dolphins at once, which jump into the air and then fall to the ground, dealing damage in an area. Seeing where they land is pretty easy, so you can dodge quickly.

    Tail strike

The boss transforms into a huge finned tail and then slams the ground, causing water explosions in a straight line. Jump to the side to avoid getting hit.

    Dipping Blocks

The boss summons water blocks that sink into the water in the arena, dealing splash damage. Keep an eye on their landing spots to dodge in time.

    block waves

He creates several cubes around him, which begin to move towards him like waves. You can avoid the attack by walking through the gap between the dice.

    rain attack

The boss turns into a water Whirlpool, and rain begins to drip on top of the hero, causing damage. Before that, water circles appear on the ground. Immediately jump to the side so as not to get hit.
