Dendro Hypostasis in Genshin Impact: how to find and defeat

    Zorthrus

In Genshin Impact Dendro Hypostasis is another elemental cube boss codenamed Zain, added to the game With You the release of Update 3.2. It drops Nagadus emeralds and suppressed vines, which are necessary for pumping a number of heroes. In this guide, we will tell you how to find this enemy, prepare the optimal team to fight him, and quickly destroy him.

    Where to find Dendro Hypostasis

The arena with him is located in the Sumeru Desert. If you follow the story, then you will have to get to this region during the mission of the archons "Dreams, Emptiness, Deception" . However, apparently, you can come here after Liyue research, that is, even before Inazuma.

This boss can be found in a cave located south of the village of Aaru and not far from Dar al-Shifa (the location on the map is shown above). Move to the southern teleport, turn left from it and immediately jump down from the edge of the cliff. During the flight, turn around and you will see a passage to the cave.

Fly into the tunnel and start going down. Soon you will see the site on which Dendro Hypostasis is located. You can prepare first or immediately attack him. Note that after destruction, it is restored approximately 3-5 minutes - you need to teleport to another area or re-enter the game for the cube to reappear. Remember also that in order to collect rewards, you will have to spend 40 units from it primordial resin.

    Characteristics of Dendro Hypostasis

As with other elemental cubes, Zain is completely immune to his element, i.e. Dendro. Its resistance to other elements is only 10%. However, at the same time, a Dendro Achievement: Hero must be present in your team (below we will tell you why).

In terms of his combat attributes, he is comparable to many other hypostases, that is, he also has relatively little health, but at the same time he is able to deal considerable damage at high levels. In general, if you correctly select a team of well-pumped characters, then this enemy should not cause you any special problems. You can get acquainted with all the parameters of the enemy in the picture below (2P, 3P and 4P show the characteristics when playing in a joint mode).

    Hero Selection Tips

Above, we have already noted that the detachment must have a Dendro fighter. The fact is that only with the help of it you can awaken the restoring cores and thereby finally defeat the boss. Attacking the boss with it is useless, since he is immune to Dendro damage, so the level and strength of the character practically do not play a role.

Note: True, it is best to take a Dendro archer or catalyst so that you can quickly hit the cores from a long distance.

Next, we recommend that you take powerful Electro and Pyro heroes. The former will be able to transfer the cores to the Revive state, which will speed up the victory over the enemy, and cause the Stimulation reaction, while the latter will impose Elemental Reaction: Burning on him, causing additional damage. In addition, they both allow you to get special achievements.

If you want, you can take Hydro damageers, since the cube almost always has the Dendro status, so you can often cause the Budding reaction. If the enemy removes health from you too quickly, then take good shieldmen (Zhongli, Candace, Diona) or healers (Sangonomiya Kokomi, Barbara, Bennett) into the group. The table below shows the most useful characters.

    Character Peculiarities

    Cyno

It has a fast elemental explosion that deals huge damage, which allows you to significantly reduce the boss's health bar in the shortest possible period of time. He can also put the cores into the Animate state.

    Yae Miko

She is able to deal Electro damage out of the field with her elemental skill, and her ultimate deals massive damage. Since even her normal attacks are energized, she can easily bring the cores into the Vivify state.

    Tighnari

Can extremely quickly activate recovery cores with an active elemental skill and using charged shots.

    Hu Tao

Able to quickly inflict large Pyro damage on the expanded core with the help of an elemental skill and normal strikes. Her Elemental Burst deals massive damage.

    Xiangling

Can extremely effectively combine his ultimate with Electro characters, triggering the Elemental Reaction: Overloaded reaction. Can burn vines summoned by the boss, rendering them useless against your team.

    Nahida

Can easily activate recovery cores, as even her normal attacks deal damage to Dendro. Her Elemental Burst is able to buff allies.

    Collei

Can easily activate recovery cores from afar with charged shots.

Attacks and movements of Dendro Hypostasis

    Drill and vines

The boss transforms into a drill and then burrows into the ground, spawning spiked vines on it that deal damage to Dendro in a small area. These plants can be burned by Pyro attacks or simply dashed away from them. At the same time, the core becomes open.

    Bomb dendro

The boss turns into a cocoon and burrows into the ground with its lower part, and then starts releasing bombs towards the player. You can easily dodge them by starting to run in one direction and making dashes. When the attack ends, the Hystasis Core will open.

    Jump attack

The boss transforms into a sphere and then starts jumping and landing at the player's location, dealing AoE damage to Dendro. His landing points will be marked on the ground with green circles, so they are relatively easy to dodge. On the 3rd jump, the cube explodes, leaving the core exposed.

    Tree with thorns

The boss will turn into a tree, leaving the core exposed so you can damage him. However, a circle of spikes will appear around the hypostasis, which will begin to gradually narrow. When it reaches the tree, the player will take massive damage if they stay in the affected area. Therefore, if you decide to take a chance, then we advise you to definitely put a Noelle: Protector on yourself or prepare healing abilities.

    How to defeat Dendro Hypostasis

    Preparing for battle

Before the start of the battle, you can eat dishes that increase attack power, critical damage and critical hit chance, as well as drink potions that increase certain elemental damage. In our case, it will be useful:

    • Shocking Essential Oil - Increases Electro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Streaming Essential Oil - Increases Hydro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Flaming Essential Oil - Increases Pyro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.

We also advise you to use the Dendrocide Potion, which will increase the resistance to Dendro damage by 25% for 300 seconds, because almost all attacks of this hypostasis deal this type of damage.

    Combat tactics

Everything is pretty simple here. Dodge or defend against Hypostasis Dendro's attacks first, waiting for its core to open, and then deal maximum damage to it. We recommend using Electro, Pyro, and Hydro attacks to create reactions such as Stimulate, Elemental Reaction: Burning, and Butanize, respectively.

As soon as the boss's health bar drops to almost zero, he will be covered with a protective shell that cannot be penetrated. You will need to activate the recovery cores in the amount of three pieces using Dendro elements.

Thus, you will begin the process of purification, the progress of which can be observed on the green bar that appears under the health bar of the cube. You can speed up this procedure with the help of Electro attacks. When the scale is completely filled, Dendro Hypostasis will immediately die.

If you do not have time to clear the enemy, then he will restore part of his life, and you will have to fight him again. It is for this reason that your team must have at least one Dendro Achievement: Hero.

    Achievements for Dendro Hypostasis

During the battle with this enemy, you can get two trophies at once. Next, we will tell you what you need to do to open them.

    Records of the Fall

When the enemy performs a jump attack (turns into a sphere and then drops as a bomb), you will need to use a Pyro attack on his landing to burn the boss's vine shell. As a reward for opening the achievement, you will receive 5 source stones.

The Marvelous Uses of Nitrogen Fixation

Wait for three Restoration Cores to spawn and activate them with elemental Dendro, and then immediately attack those green diamonds with an Electro element to put all three cores into the Vivify state. As a reward for opening the achievement, you will receive 5 source stones.

    Rewards for defeating Dendro Hypostasis

For the destruction of this elemental cube, you will receive Companionship EXP, pestilence, adventure points and various materials that are mainly needed for the development of Dendro heroes. The higher the level of the enemy, the better the reward will be:

    • Nagadus Emerald Sliver (Level 20+)
    • Nagadus Emerald Fragment (Level 40+)
    • Nagadus Emerald Chunk (Level 60+)
    • Nagadus Emerald Gemstone (Level 75+)
    • Quelled Creeper (Level 30+) – Required for Ascension Nahids.

Among other things, various sets of artifacts fall out from this enemy, namely:

    • Adventurer (3 stars)
    • Instructor (3-4 stars)
    • Berserker (3-4 stars)
    • Gladiator’s Finale (4-5 stars)
    • Wanderer’s Troupe (4-5 stars)

We hope that our guide to Dendro Hypostasis in Genshin Impact will help you find and kill this boss, knowing in advance about the tactics of fighting him and preparing the optimal team for the fight.
