In Atomic Heart Kalash is a reliable and powerful weapon, with the full improvement of which you can easily go through the whole game with it. However, first you have to find a drawing of this machine. To do this, you will have to fulfill a couple of conditions. In this guide, we will tell you in detail where you can get the Kalash recipe and how to craft it.
You'll also learn how to get the ammo blueprint for this weapon, and where to find all of the Kalash modules that greatly increase its firepower and give the assault rifle additional capabilities.
Where to find Kalash in Atomic Heart
Most blueprints in the game spawn randomly, i.e. there are no chests (with the exception of bronze, silver and gold containers from Polygons ), from which you are 100% likely to pull out one or another recipe. However, some boxes seem to have an increased chance for certain types of weapons to drop - this also applies to Kalash. All such places are listed below.
Again, it is possible that you will not get the scheme you need from them, since there is a certain order in which new drawings will fall out, with Kalash being approximately in the middle of this list, coming after Pate, Adrenaline, Ice Cassette, Reflex Blade or Snowball. Therefore, if you were able to get one of these blueprints earlier, then in the near future you will have to drop the AK-47.
First chest with Kalash
- Location: Vavilov Complex
With a high probability, you will be able to get the necessary drawing as part of the story mission "March of Flowers". Complete the "Get the Polymer Flask" objective and then exit through the door to the right of the "Eleanor" (red machine gun). Turn left, go down the corridor and turn into the rest room on the right.
Once inside, open the metal box to the left of the save station. In it you can find a drawing of a weapon, which may well be Kalash. Either way, you'll get something of value.
Second chest with Kalash
- Location: abandoned house
It can be found when exploring the open world. You will find yourself near the right place during the execution of the story mission "Morning Express". Go to the area marked on the map - you can, for example, get there by car. Stop near the courtyard and approach the wooden house ahead.
Go to the back of the building and enter it through the open passage. Turn right and you will see a green metal box to the right of the gramophone, in which you can find a blueprint for Kalash.
Third chest with Kalash
- Location: Station "Forest"
As with the previous box, you will be able to find a new location for the automaton circuit when completing a mission "Morning Express". Head to the Lesnaya station and get to the point shown in the screenshots below. Go around the bus on the left side and enter the house ahead.
The door to the building will be locked, so you will have to pick the lock first. Once inside, turn left, go around the refrigerated display case and open the black chest, which may contain the item you need.
Fourth chest with Kalash
- Location: Residential area near the Lesnaya station
As part of the same Morning Express quest, head to the appropriate station and go to the area shown on the map below. Enter the red building with round windows and go up the spiral staircase.
Turn left and exit to the balcony. There you will find a chest, which may contain a machine gun. If you didn't find it there, then climb even higher, right to the roof of the building. There will be another container there.
Fifth chest with Kalash
- Location: Exhibition VDNH
Completing a story mission "How restless is that brow that is crowned with a crown", you have to go to the hall of the Runner. After changing your main objective to finding a way to get to the 2nd floor, take the elevator to an open area. Then you will need to take on the launch of the Neural Network. To do this, climb even higher with the help of ledges and a polymer jet.
Having risen, go along the metal platform, jump over the hole and turn left into the building. Walk forward along the corridor and turn left again. Deal with two robots and go down the stairs. Next to the door, you will see a chest that may contain an AK-47.
Sixth chest with Kalash
- Location: Complex "Collective"
Head to the point shown in the screenshots below. After reaching the square, approach the statue of a bearded scientist. Behind her will be a box in which you can find a weapon blueprint.
Is it possible to skip the drawing of Kalash
It may well be that you have already moved far ahead, and have not examined any of the above chests, which is why you have not received the necessary recipe. Of course, you can try to go back, but we advise you to simply continue through the game, inspecting every crate you come across.
Note: Quite often, recipes for new types of weapons drop from regular chests in the Proving Grounds, so we advise you to definitely visit these test zones.
As we noted above, the recipes in the game in Atomic Heart mostly fall out randomly, so sooner or later, you will get the desired blueprint. When you finally do this, find the nearest Eleanor assault rifle, go to the Crafting section and craft Kalash by spending a certain amount of resources.
Where to find the drawing of Kalash cartridges
With this, everything is quite simple. The fact is that after discovering a new firearm in chests, the game makes it so that you are guaranteed to find blueprints for ammunition in the following containers. Therefore, as soon as you find Kalash, from the new boxes that you find in the future, there is a high probability that the ammo recipe for it will fall out.
For example, if you find a weapon near the "Collective" complex, then you can also find a drawing of cartridges there. The location of the chest is shown in the images above.
How to find modules (improvements) for Kalash
If you want this assault rifle to remain a powerful weapon throughout the game, then we recommend that you quickly find all the upgrade recipes for it. Some of them will be open by default, while others will have to be obtained in the Polygons. They lie in bronze, silver or gold chests.
Below is a list of modules and test pad numbers where they are hidden:
- The collimator can be found in Polygon 6.
- An electromagnetic polarizer can be found in Polygon 9.
- An enlarged magazine can be found in Polygon 10.
- The thermal imager can be found in Polygon 2.
- An expansive transducer can be found in Polygon 11.
- An electrokinetic butt can be found in Polygon 12.
Once you find an upgrade, simply interact with Eleonora and install the module into your weapon, spending a certain amount of resources. If you fully pump the machine, you will unlock the Kulibin achievement.
